      peace,

      not all of them, most are trinitarians, but there are many that are unitarians, there are 9 million Jehovah's Witnesses that believe Jesus is only a messenger and is not God or His son, and there is a large Unitarian movement too http//www.biblicalunitarian.com/html/

      262, 2105, 375, 3110, etc. (many more verses) all give the view that the majority of Jews and Christians or from all of those that recieved revelation previously are wicked but there are believers from amongst them

          really? I actually read otherwise, I'll have to check yahoo for that, yeah your right, I guess that would make them blasphemers in the sense, same with the Unitarians but I've seen quotes from major church figures that they believe Jesus is just God's messenger and many Christians believe likewise or that he was just a great man

            I've met some Jehovah's witnesses who don't believe Jesus to be god or son of god.

                Salaamun alaikum,

                I went to the biblicalunitarian.com website and they believe that Jesus is son of God too. However there are some Christians, who could be from any denomination, who do not believe in their own denominational faith and believe that Jesus is a messenger of God. In that sense they do believe in one God and the life hereafter and if they also do righteous deeds then in my opinion by Quranic definition they are Muslims and believers can marry the chaste among them.

                262 Surely those who believe, and those who are Jewish, and the Nazarenes, and the Sabiens; any one of them who believes in God and the Last Day, and does good work, they will have their reward with their Lord, with no fear over them, nor will they grieve.

                Peace,

                Tanveer

                  I have been reading the boards and see some misunderstandings. I have some first hand knowledge here. I hope I can be of help.

                  Christians and Unitarians are not the same thing. First of all to be a Christian you have to believe that there is only one God and that is God (Allah). You have to believe in the Holy Trinity. God the Father, God the Son, and The Holy Spirit. Also that Jesus is God's son. That he died and rose again. If a person does not believe those things then they are not a Christian. A Unitarian does not believe in the Holy Trinity, so he would not be a Christian.

                  A Jehovah's witness is not a Christian. They do not believe in the Holy Trinity, or that Jesus is God's son.

                  Think of where the name Christian comes from. Jesus Christ. That does not make them idol worshippers. They do not worship Jesus. They only worship God. But God loved the world so much that he sent his only son to pay the price of sin. So that all would have the chance to go to Heaven. You do not go to Heaven by works or deeds. No one could ever do enough worthy enough to earn that reward. Heaven is too great. But, what Christians do believe is that, Jesus paid the price for all our sins. Now that who ever believes in him, asks forgiveness for their sins, and believes in the one true God. That person will go to heaven. Jesus would not even allow people to worship him. He came as a messenger and a teacher. He also came as God's son, to pay the price of all our sins. Believers and non-believers.

                  So that is the basis of Christianity to the best of my knowledge. I am a Christian. My fiancee is a Muslim. I have been studying religions.

                  I hope this helps.

                    Peace,

                    But I cannot really grasp that Jesus came and died for our sins it seems not like a logical path and I do believe that God is preacing logics.

                    Peace Maria

                      I'm a little confused.

                      Trinity -> God the Son

                      Son= Jesus , right?

                      Jesus = God since

                      God= Son= Jesus

                      so, God, according to the concept, come down as a man and died for humans for their sins to be forgiven.
                      I read from some website, you are forgiven ONLY when you ask for forgiveness.

                      ....
                      But, still.
                      I feel it is too low a thing for God to do that (becoming human to take away sins)...
                      ....

                        I was technically a Christian when my Muslim husband met me and wanted to be with me.

                        Frankly, being the seeker I am... I was a lot of things... Luckily, I found and UNDERSTOOD the Qur'an. I have come home at last with a lot of knowledge of other faiths.

                        Christians are not idol worshippers because many of them think they are worshipping God either as the father "God" or as the son "Jesus". However, christians don't believe that you should not try to depict people - and since Jesus was also human, he had the form of a man and can be depicted. These statues, pictures, crosses do not house the spirit of a god... they are like... links... to GOD. They are symbols for God and some christians feel a closeness to God when they can see the depicted form of Jesus looking down on them, or out to the whole congregation...

                        Supposed "idols" of God as Jesus make christians feel closer or in the presense of God even though they know God is everywhere, all the time, all over the earth.

                        I'm not saying their ideas about Jesus are correct...this is just the only thing I can think of that would make someone see christians as idol worshippers.

                        Thanks for reading.

                          The difference between Christians and the Jewish Nazareans

                          http//19.org/index.php?id=91,416,0,0,1,0

                          Christians, being it uniterians or triniterians are called people of the Book, but also Kafiruun, the ones who bury the Truth for themselves.

                          Nazareans are Jewish followers of Jesus and are the real Nasara mentioned in the Quran.

                            As for the marriage issue, I'd rather marry a nice Christian lady and try to convert her into God Alone belief, then marry a Sunni or a Shia.

                                Arnold is right - every methodist, presbytrian, and baptist church I have ever been in all preach the Trinity of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

                                All Christians believe in the Trinity unless they are an obscure sect.

                                I'm not sure about the amish and the quakers, though.

                                  I believe the Protestants believe in the Trinity, but they do not recognize the authority of tradition I suppose. One of their doctrines is sola scriptura, sort of like quran alone.

                                  There are Christians who do not believe in the Trinity, like the JW's, Unitarians, and Bible Students associated with Charles T. Russell. I enjoy the teachings of the Bible Students.

                                  How does the quran define idol-worship?

                                    I'm 99.99% certain that the Evangelists ( Protestant division ) do NOT believe in the trinity. They are basically Bible-only Christians, who believe anything extra-Biblical is not from God. ( Trinity is not mentioned in the Bible ). THe Evangelists are usually a bit extremist and will go as far as to accuse the Catholics of being idol-worshippers, and innovators who bow down before paintings and statues . I remember one of my classmates back in Lebanon , during my High-school days, was an Protestant Evangelist. She invited me once to visit one of their churches. I noticed the absence of any statues, paintings or images of Christ and other such things. ( She said the Catholics made those up ). All they had was plain wooden crosses ( no figure of Christ on them ). Also, their priests do not believe in "Vow of Chastity ". They can marry and have children normally.

                                      Thats the same for Methodists churchs - no paintings or statues, but they do believe in the "Father, Son, and Holy Ghost."

                                        As far as I know, protestants do believe in trinity.
                                        It all started with the Reformation during the 15 century with Martin Luther. The statues and fancy rituals and music was seen as distractions. The church was supposed to be about the word of God only. There were some progressive, modern thoughts that emerged during that time. Like people should have a choice of whether they join the church or not. Women were given a few more rights. People were supposed to think for themselves, and didn't need an institution to get them there. But, these were only thoughts, and the majority didn't care for them. It was the protestants who were responsible for the witch hunts. And, although I'm not 100% sure, they kept Trinity.
                                        They got rid of the extra fat in their religion, but it's still there in their heads.
                                        And people believe what they want to believe. It doesn't matter a bit that the bible doesn't mention trinity (if that is the case).

                                          for the question "how does the kurran define idol worship"
                                          the idols (statues , painting) are forbidden in Islam , even it was for the prophet himself , knowing that he's not the god. this bcuz how the statues worshiping starts , we all know that all humans are from Adam , Adam was a unitarian so was his children and his grand children , the kurran teaches us that Adam was a prophet himself , so they all know god and worship him , but in the next generations (all worshiping god ) there were six men very faithful and others look up to them , they appreciated them so much and when they die they decided to make statues for them so they can remember how great they were and to stay on their path , any way long after they built these statues ppl forgot what they were for , that's were the devil interfere and told them these statues are gods you fathers use to worship , then the statues worshiping starts. that's why there is no statue or painting for the prophet Mohamed.
                                          Islam refuse statues and kurran describe ppl who worship them as (kafiroun) disbelievers ,and i mean worshiping (like saying this is my god stands there ..etc) not as a symbol like in churches , i understand they don't worship the statues itself this is another thing.
                                          and about the main question how can a Muslim marry a christen ,(i think) that it's allowed for a man to marry from ppl of the book (christens and jews) without classifying whether they were unitarians or not , as a prove of that when the Kurran describe the christens believes about jesus (eisa) being the god or the son of god the kurran refer to them as christens (ppl of the book) so they are included not just unitarians (again that's my opinion i'm not qualified to judge in this , ask a (mufte) there are many sites and many islamic center u can ask in if u really want the answer)
                                          at the end i must say sorry i wrote too much , that's bcuz my English is really bad ;D i hope u understand what i mean
                                          thank u for ur time
                                          peace be upon u all
