How Can A Muslim Marry A Christian?
-
Kafir means disbeliever, rejector of faith, unbeliever, non-believer, rejector, etc., they all mean the same thing in English. And the fact of the matter is the Holy Quran preaches very strongly against disbelievers (non-Muslims).
If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah., never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter He will be in the ranks of those who have lost (All spiritual good). (385)
There is no need to be politically correct about the Holy Quran in order to please the disbelievers.
There is no political correctness (other than common courtesy, i.e. the lack of condemning a person to hell out of ignorance...) here. Why did you leave "islam" untranslated? Many people - non-adherents - who are kafir by your standards can be described as muslims, those who submit to God and strive for the best within their ability and knowledge.
Regardless, "disbeliever" is NOT the same thing is "rejector" or other. Unbeliever/disbeliever is a broad term. Rejector is specific, needing an active rejection instead of a passive lack of belief, and in-line with the obvious Quranic principle that people will be judged by their knowledge and perception, not on what they never knew. This is a very widely echoed principle in the Sunni world, and it is plastered in effectively every book regarding unbelievers, how can you miss it?
I had a person in the streets telling me the other day, pointing to people and calling them "kafir" left and right, and the only question is, "How do you bloody know?!?!".
-
The standard for submission to Allah in the least common denominator is belief and Allah and His Messenger Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa salaam)
"Our Lord! we believe in what Thou hast revealed, and we follow the messenger. then write us down among those who bear witness." (353)
O ye who believe! believe in Allah and His messenger, and the scripture which He hath sent to His messenger and the scripture which He sent to those before (him). Any who denieth Allah, His angels, His Books, His messenger, and the Day of Judgment, hath gone far, far astray. (4136)
So you see the standard for being a believer and a Muslim is to believe in what Allah has revealed (The Holy Quran), to believe in His Messenger (Muhammad), and also to believe in His Angels and the Day of Judgment. This is the standard of submission, anything less is kufr (Disbelief). If we apply this standard than no Christian, Jew, Buddhist, Hindu, Atheist, etc., can be a "Submitter" so long as they reject the Holy Quran and the Holy Prophet.
Your contention is simply not supported by the Holy Quran. The Quran has defined every essential theological matter for us, why should we make up our own theories when it has already issued the decisive beliefs?
-
If only you read more carefully.
Firstly, 353 does not refer specifically to Muhammad - PERIOD. This is evidenced by the obvious reference to Jesus in the preceding verse and the universality of the order to obey the rasool. The Quran states that messengers will be sent to the most distinct city/region of every nation (2859). Additionaly, I believe you will agree with me that 17104 is referring to the present day state of Israel where they are indeed a diverse crowd, and it prophesises their destruction. This shows that while Muhammad is the last nabi (no question), there will be rasools afterwards. In any case, you took 353 out of context.
As for 4136 - again, please look at the context. It is addressed to those who believe, and a command to continue believing. The second part needs active denounciation which goes exactly in line with the definition of "kafir" as "rejector". Again - this is a common theme in Sunni texts, which state that a person can be called "kafir" only if they know the message clearly, and have had clear signs, and still denounce it - in the case of iblees for instance.
Here, is a Shia reference http//www.livingislam.org/fiqhi/fiqha_e49.html
And Sunni http//www.themodernreligion.com/ugly/kafr.html (Yusuf Ali's commentary there, again echoing my sentiments)Please, Yusha, pick up a book or sixteen, you might learn something (on this subject). The Quran is not "holy" in any way, shape or form. There is only one entity worthy of being called "holy", PERIOD. My contention is more than supported by the Quran, and even Yusuf Ali whose translation you used states clearly that "kafir" is qualified by ACTIVE & RESPONSIBLE REJECTION.
494 - O you who believe! when you go to war in Allah's way, make investigation, and do not say to any one who offers you peace You are not a believer. Do you seek goods of this world's life! But with Allah there are abundant gains; you too were such before, then Allah conferred a benefit on you; therefore make investigation; surely Allah is aware of what you do.
Case closed. slams hammer on table
If you want to assign a name to the rasool in "Allah and his Messenger", then your angel Gabriel qualifies far better, in any case, having single-handedly delivered the message to every single rasool and nabi alive.

Peace Yusha
Of course it is shirk! I am the one who said Christians are mushrikeen. All I am saying to you is your translation of the Quran is not completely accurate, that's all.
Where does it say that we can marry the idolater Christians? We are not allowed to marry such people, but we can marry Monotheist Christians.
Peace

So, will I get a response to that? Please show me where I go wrong.

many Quakers could be called tawhid Christians. there are also Unitarian Christians, Christadelphians, and others.
a dear friend of mine is Christian, Baptist, and we have discussed marriage. but we can both see where there would be troubles... he is a Biblical literalist, i am a Quran-alone Muslim. i will sit down with him in the next week or so to discuss faith, God, and deen. he asks me what Christianity lacks for me to turn to Islam and i answered "simplicity". of course i would love for him to at least deepen his prayer life and open his mind a bit. we will see... whatever God wills.

I'm 99.99% certain that the Evangelists ( Protestant division ) do NOT believe in the trinity. They are basically Bible-only Christians, who believe anything extra-Biblical is not from God. ( Trinity is not mentioned in the Bible ). THe Evangelists are usually a bit extremist and will go as far as to accuse the Catholics of being idol-worshippers, and innovators who bow down before paintings and statues . I remember one of my classmates back in Lebanon , during my High-school days, was an Protestant Evangelist. She invited me once to visit one of their churches. I noticed the absence of any statues, paintings or images of Christ and other such things. ( She said the Catholics made those up ). All they had was plain wooden crosses ( no figure of Christ on them ). Also, their priests do not believe in "Vow of Chastity ". They can marry and have children normally.
Peace.
I am 100% certain that Evangelists from the Protestant Division do believe in the trinity...
How do I know?
I used to be one.
Now if they believe they believe in three gods, that is a different question.
The basic tenet in order to be a christian is to believe in the trinty or the concept of.
I believe the quran says those who claim Jesus was son of God or one of the trinity then they are rejectors, right?
Lebananese chrisitans primarily are catholic and orthodox with some maronites and variations, if they adhere to the trinity or not..they still believe Jesus was God's son, right?
Most trinitarians beleive in the trinitys' concepts, but when asked how many gods are there they will say one, but probe a bit further and you will see there real beleifs...

peace,
not all of them, most are trinitarians, but there are many that are unitarians, there are 9 million Jehovah's Witnesses that believe Jesus is only a messenger and is not God or His son, and there is a large Unitarian movement too http//www.biblicalunitarian.com/html/
262, 2105, 375, 3110, etc. (many more verses) all give the view that the majority of Jews and Christians or from all of those that received revelation previously are wicked but there are believers from amongst them
You have this all wrong. Jehovah Witnesses Believe Jesus is God's only begotten son. Everything else was made through Jesus as his fathers direction. We do not believe that Jesus is God as Jehovah is one God and he is Jesus father.
We also do believe Jesus was here to fulfill the law of Moses and put it to rest permanently. You have went back to the law of Moses and resurrected it. It was there to show our imperfections. Instead of you must not murder Jesus said love your enemies. I studies up some on the Koran and at first it is loving in nature but it begins to contradict itself. I am sorry to say you people have been scammed by Muhammad from what I can see. In one of my posts here I showed this from my sources in a 4 part section. Look it up yourselves.
But I need to clarify that Jehovah's Witnesses do not think that Jesus was only a messenger. He performed many miracle. Did Muhammad perform miracles such as Jesus? Not to my knowledge. Did he even perform miracles such as Moses? No he did not. So what makes you really believe he is a prophet? Jehovah's Prophets where able to perform miracles. Muhammad only wrote the Koran with the help of many others. Actually he personally was illiterate so he did not even write it himself.
As far as the majority of Apostate Christendom, and I mean apostate because they did do the crusades at the direction of their apostate leaders. In fact they killed many of those who where trying to teach the bible accurately. They branded them as a occult or Heretics in many cases then burned them at the stake or chopped off their heads. I can understand how you feel they are wicked. But it is not them that is wicked but those leading them. They are as the bible calls them, Wolves in sheep's clothing and they are slaughtering their own flock. Those innocent sheep who are really seeking Jehovah God are being fleeced.
In that sense of the matter the majority of Christendom is wicked. The trinity is just one of many ways to prove their true nature concerning their worship of Jehovah God. You are right also about the Idols being worshiped. That also is non-scriptural and yet they do it. If you really look into Jehovah's Witnesses and quit guessing you will see that they do not do that also. They do not celebrate practices that started from Pagan practices such as Christmas and Easter and especially Halloween which is pure devil worshiping. We do not even celebrate birthdays which are of pagan origin also and it is the day of your death that counts not the day of your birth when you have not made a name for yourselves yet. Do you celebrate birthdays? What about Ramadan? That was celebrated before the Koran was written and was it not pagan to begin with? You need to look at the origin of all celebrations.
Marriage was instituted by Jehovah God. So celebrating it is acceptable. Jesus tells us to celebrate the evening meal before his death which we do on a yearly basis. That is acceptable. You day you dedicate to Jehovah God is a day for celebration. That is acceptable as a reminder. Anything else? Nothing. Nothing about it in the bible. In fact birthdays are mentioned only twice and they are pagan. The Worship of a decorated tree is mentioned but it is of pagan origin also. That wipes out Christmas. So does not celebrating birthdays. Jesus was not even born in winter or the shepherds would not be in the fields. Jesus never worshiped his birthday also because he knew it was of pagan origin. So if you celebrate birthdays then you also are doing pagan worship. You all know you are not suppose to mess with magic and that knocks out Halloween yet many Apostate Christian religions allow the worship of Halloween and have for many many years. Some have stopped because of Jehovah's Witnesses showing them that it is wrong scripturally speaking but for the most part they do not care.
I can tell you people are starting to take note of Jehovah's Witnesses. It is not a club. It is a way of life. It is following the scriptures as closely as we possibly can. Most Witnesses are very strong and determined individuals who have the greatest fear of displeasing our Heavenly Father Jehovah God.
All I can say is if you like being fleeced by religious leaders then have your ears tickled and continue your lifestyles of pagan worship. Me I worship Jehovah God just as his own son Jesus Christ does. Being a footstep follower of his son Jesus Christ it what it means to be a Christian. You are so right about the majority of supposed Christians though. They do not live by the bible at all. As you can see on the news when they molest children and so forth.
One other thing Muhammad in the Koran use to say to show compassion and love to others. Later he became more forceful and said to war with others. Murder is against the Law of Moses and God did not tell you to kill. Muhammad did. Originally he also did not tell you to do so. So, you have to many contradictions and Jehovah God is a God of order, not disorder and the Koran is complete disorder and a contradiction in itself. Your life eternal is at stake here and you really need to re-examine your position with Jehovah God. As I always have to do myself. Now if you have any questions concerning Jehovah's Witnesses feel free to ask them or myself. Jehovah's Witnesses offer free in your home bible studies or discussions. If you have a group that are wanting to know what the bible really teaches then ask for one.

ALot of so called Christian fakes are in many (cults) and, go by what they beleive not the Bible sent by GOD.
The trinity is what every Christian beleives if they dont they are not a CHristian.
Trinity= The Fater,The Son and, the holy spirit.God made this world a perfect one but, we all know that Adam and, Eve made it a sinful world so by them we are all sinners. God knew we would destroy the earth that he made.
God sent his Son ( not biological son) in spirit and, in human form as the Bible says " the word becamse flesh" God sent Jesus to show us the sinnless way to live he is the most profound living man that lived on this earth no other is better know then Jesus Christ. God sent Jesus to die for us so its as if God came back to earth in the form of a man Jesus his Son all this time GOD was on the throne in Heaven.
After Jesus was Crucified for our Sins on the cross he made it possible for us to have a close relationship with GOD because, before we could not we had to much Sin to face GOD we were not good enough to face God.
After Jesus went to heaven in body the Lord left us with the Holy Spirit who guides us daily to do good we have a choice called free will but, as a Christian we try to do our best because, all Christians will go to heaven as long as they have a Mustard seed of faith in Christ. We will all be judged even the Christians in the end. -

No Christianity/trinity until the first council of Nicea with many sects according to Peter, Paul, Mary, James, Thomas, Mark, et al with differing opinions as this video explains that most history is hearsay written with bias to promote a view many years after the events.

All heaven-bound men and women can marry each other; do good deeds and enter just not one heaven but all the heavens; any person who is consciencious will be righteous in his thinking and deeds; why cannot they marry? Where is the question muslim or christian or jew? Marry only the righteous ones of these three societies and become of the good doers and raise the good society to which all righteous people will join if they want the blessings of Allah, and henceforth heavenly life in this world and in the life hereafter.
