'Good idea. But it will be a nation of elites. Who will plow the land and clean the floors?'

Why will it be a nation of elites? -We will plow & clean!

Cause most Koranist are not mainstream and tend to be more independent minded and more knowledge seeking kinds of people than the average. More educated than the average and more progressive and free thinking. This is an elite class as it stands today.

        Salam and Peace!

Do you think anywhere will ever be run under Quranic Law?

No, Sir, Although it is not impossible, yet it does not look possible.

You invite people of the last ummah to Allah's Quran, and they have lines on their foreheads.
        And they shout, "And ahadith???"
They love Imam Bukhari and his ahadith. They don't fear Allah and don't love His Exalted and Easy Quran.

        People don't worship Allah.
They worship the names of Sahaba (Umar, Ali, Fatimah, Hasan, Hussain, Abu Huraira, Abdullah ibn Umar, Abdullah ibn Abbaas, Abdullah ibn Masood), Peer-o-Murshid and religious scholars.
What lies and witchcraft they put before people, using the names of the Sahaba (in Al-Bukhari, etc.), they take it as Deen. Sects are the example.

People run away from Allah (i.e. Al-Quran).

People don't know that The One Who created us and gives us to eat, only He should be worshipped. And He will be worshipped only and only when we follow His Sayings (Al-Quran).

"We worship Allah alone (by following His Sayings, i.e. Al-Quran), and we call Allah alone for help." (Al-Fatiha-4)

Do you think anywhere will ever be run under Quranic Law?

Many countries has implemented "God's recommended social law with principles laid out also in the Quran" to some degree.

And those countries who implemented those principles shall reap their benefits by justice, welfare and efficiently organized administration with minimum corruptions and waste. Regardless they got it from Quran or other sources.
First and foremost, please understand that God can inspire / bring revelation to anyone with and without Quran.

It boils down to very simple means..

            1. Justice for all
            2. Freedom of belief
            3. Freedom from slavery or any other means which enslave people and limit his/her basic freedom.
            4. State fund/budget which collected from taxes from both citizen and non-citizen/permanent resident which are being used for the welfare of all such as but not limited to; social welfare program, public infrastructure, military/defense.. etc..
            5. State fund/budget are also being used for myriad of debt stricken bailout and social improvement program.
            6. Military service for citizen.

The Quran left out many details.. yes.. as the exact nature and problems varied among countries, yet it laid out the basic principles to be followed.

For those who claimed that all government/administration regulation / law can be taken from Quran, i can say that it's a wishful thinking.. As Quran left out many things.. but... God reveal many knowledge and wisdom from other means as well..
Because truth are truth whatever the source is..

            Salam / Peace

              Salaam Jafar,

the Qur'an is a complete book in every detail, the reason you fail to grasp its advice on a society is because you bring preconceived ideas to the table, and think they are involved, when they are not.

              Simple principles are directed
You must do all you have agreed to do, is the foundation of all contract.
Each person has an unlimited right to contract but only with other men/women, you cannot contract to fictions, like corporation or state.
You cannot encroach upon another man/woman, this means you can not create legislation upon the law, you have to contract within a local community where each member is contracted, with witnesses, sealed and recorded, to be a party to any legislation upon the law, any new legislation must be contracted under a new contract on an individual basis.
All men/women are equal in sight of the law, this means you cannot create any superior - inferior relationships, or contracts, for example a charter is a superior giving an inferior man/woman a right or privilege, this breaks the law.
You can only own what you yourself create, anything beyond that is based upon rights of use, this means you cannot buy and sell the property or resources of Allah, as they are owned by Allah, there creator.
I can go on but you see the idea, the guide is complete, the people refuse to see and apply the guidance.

Tell me.. create an "Environmental Law" which governs regulations on building houses/factories on river banks and also protection of the "jungle" especially rainforest according to the Quran.

If you make an "Environmental Law",---it will be very much in accordance with Al-Quran.

No one is allowed to destroy public or private property, or misuse them.

I think I have already given you the answer, or maybe I couldn't understand it.

Anyways, if you make any "Environmental Law" which governs regulations on building houses/factories on river banks and also protection of the "jungle" especially rainforest, etc.---indeed, you will make the law with Shura of the people, and it must be in favour and well-being of the people and their property and environment. It should not be unjust to any person or any object of the environment.
This is already absolutely according to Al-Quran.

Perhaps, you are asking for a specific Verse from Al-Quran containing words "houses, factories, river banks, rainforests, etc."---so I have not yet found any Verse.

But as I have mentioned above,---Shura, and well-being and wellfare of the people and the environment, must be taken under consideration. It is according to Al-Quran.

Indeed, people of different regions of the world will make different "Environmental Law",---

"Environmental Law" of desert people will not be implementable on the jungle people or the north pole people. And vice versa.

So, jungle people, desert people, north pole people, etc., will have different "Environmental Law",---even a part of the Sharia Laws, (specific to their own environment, conditions and specific things they use), those parts will be different.

In many countries there are many laws which are according to Al-Quran, although they have no Knowledge of Al-Quran.
Al-Quran is the Knowledge of The Nature.

Any good and gentle people, if they make laws, they will make the law with Shura and for the welfare and wellbeing of the people.

This is according to The Nature, or The Quran.

So, to make good laws, you don't need, Al-Quran, as such-----to some extent.
For some specific laws, you will have to go for The Knowledge of Al-Quran.

But,-----one thing must be kept in our minds,----and that is, even if some nations make Laws, 100% according to Al-Quran,---but, if they don't have Iman in Allah,---they will only get the benefit of the "goodness of the Laws" in this ending world,----there is nothing for them in the Hereafter.-----This is for sure.

So, for nations of the world making good laws,-----and for this ummah offering their rituals salat, saum, hajj, umrah, etc.,---if all these things are without Iman in Allah, then in vain.
And Iman in Allah is,---"the following" of "The Sayings of Allah (i.e. Al-Quran)", and not following the sayings of the ulama karam, false and witchcraft narrations (ahadith) linked with Sahaba and family-members of the Prophet, big-ones of the ummah, Imams, sufees, etc.
---"we worship You alone, and we call You alone for help." (Al-Fatiha-4)

                      Read again---

"We worship Allah alone (by following His Sayings i.e. Al-Quran), and we call Allah alone for help (and don't call the Prophet or his family-members, Ali, Hasan, Hussain, Fatimah,---and strictly without any Tawassul, Waseela, Tufail, Sudqah, or any other Shirk)"

One more point to keep in mind,---we can not implement the Sharia Law made by the Sahaba.
We will have to make our own Sharia Law, because they lived and died, in different time, environment and conditions,----and they used things different from the things we use today.-----Their Sharia Law is useless for us.

                        Salaam,

you still do not grasp concepts, you look for do's and don't's, I think it is a waste of my time to try to explain simple concepts to people who cannot grasp even the idea of what a concept is.

Tell me what is destroying the rainforest or the environment?

Is it the cancer of economic growth, a symptom of usury, an ever increasing requirement of the accumulated wealth elite to receive an increase upon what they hoard, as they expect wealth to generate wealth, and they convince the stupid that this is true. Wealth creates nothing, a bar of gold creates nothing, it is the labour of human beings that generates wealth.

You think it is the desire of the masses to destroy the forests, poison the water, pollute the air, rape the earth of every resource?

Is that wholesale rape of the earth prevented by the legislations you promote? NO!

Or is it being destroyed at an alarming rate despite those marvellous legislated legalities you hold in such high esteem?

You seem to think the parasites who create legislation, do it for the benefit of the mass population, have you really looked at the reality of what these legislators do?

You ask about building regulations, as if without the imposition of regulation people would be incapable of making safe structures, many structures cover the earth that have stood for thousands of years without regulation, the pressures of poverty create unsafe buildings, given a free environment people themselves demand quality homes, imposition from a superior is not required.

The Qur'an expresses concepts, if you want do's and don't's you need hadith, an imam, or any religious parasite, they love to give out do's and don't's.

What is so difficult about consulting "Environmental Scientists, Experts in Town Planning and other Experts in that field" in order to draft an Environmental Law that is compatible with the Quranic recommendation to consult "The Experts" whenever you differ about something of a major importance? Perhaps you overlook The Qur'an chapter 459, which is this

"O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger, and those charged with authority among you. If ye differ in anything among yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger, if ye do believe in Allah and the Last Day That is best, and most suitable for final determination. .

The Koran acts like a constitution. Its not a legal text, it is a spiritual and ethical text. As far environment and so forth there are many instances the Koran can be used as an inspiration. In the end we humans have to interpret the Koran for ourselves. The whole basis of the Koranic sytem of statehood as compare with the sects is about authority. In the Koran authority of the prophets, humans and angels is limited over the religious affairs and choices of humans. In the sects the authority is absolute. Thats because all the verses that limits the authority of the prophet to an authority of a preacher and warner and not an enforcer, have been abrogated by the sects. They then came up with hadiths that gives the prophet and his companions after him divine like authority. This divine like authority can now be transfered to the dictator.

So there is a very strong libertarian tradition in the Koran.

The Koran also relies on proprtional retribution as justice. An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. It also believes in individual reponsibility and each to carry their own burden and nobody elses

17.15. Who receiveth guidance, receiveth it for his own benefit who goeth astray doth so to his own loss No bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another nor would We visit with Our Wrath until We had sent an apostle (to give warning).

As far as authority is concerned, the Koran is very explicit about this and very blunt

1682 But if they turn away from you, your only duty is a clear delivery of the Message .

6107 Yet if God had so willed, they would not have ascribed Divinity to aught besides Him; hence, We have not made you their keeper, nor are you a guardian over them.

479-80 Say'Whatever good betides you is from God and whatever evil betides you is from your own self and that We have sent you to mankind only as a messenger and all sufficing is God as witness. Whoso obeys the Messenger, he indeed obeys God. And for those who turn away, We have not sent you as a keeper."

8821 22; And so, exhort them your task is only to exhort; you cannot compel them to believe.

The sects believe that these verses have been abrogated by verse 9-5 and 9.29 (sword verses). They believe the prophet's authority extended beyond this and then the 4 Caliphs took over that authority and now its with the dictator. Big difference when it comes to Koranic authority and that of the sects which give the ruler Pharoah like authority. This is probably the biggest difference between the Koran and the sects. In the Koran authority is given to any ruler when a person violates another person's right and possession. While in the sects the ruler has divine authority who has the right to punish sin and in fact is god on Earth. Pagan societies used to have as their ruler divine authority who had some connection with the gods and was given divine authority while on Earth.
