Washing after sex

The other 'problem' I realise that I have is the problem of Arabic. Just from this post I am realising that depending on the translation you have, you could be understanding differently. I had no idea that bathing yourself could actually also mean doing wudu. This is why I ask questions. Of course, I understand that God will give clarity to the ones He wants to give it to.
Dawn.Salaaman Dawn,
You are free to ask any question )
Usually I don't run behind dictionaries for meanings of the words used in AlQuraan. AlQuraan is different than other books on earth, it is a word of Allah.
What I do is, I search for the same word usage in different places in AlQuraan to get the proper understanding of any word used, it really helps a lot. Please look at the following
56
56 O you who believe, if you rise to hold the contact prayer, then wash your faces and your hands up to the elbows, and wipe your heads and your feet to the ankles; and if you have had intercourse, then you shall bathe. And if you are ill, or traveling, or you have excreted feces, or you have had sexual contact with the women, and you cannot not find water, then you shall select from the clean soil; you shall wipe your faces and your hands with it. God does not want to place any hardship on you, but He wants to cleanse you and to complete His blessings upon you that you may be thankful. The word used in 56 is "Tahharu"
811
811 Sleep overcame you to give you tranquility from Him; and He sent down on you water from the sky to cleanse you with it and cause the affliction of the devil to leave you; and so that He may strengthen your hearts and set firm your feet. The same word is used in 811 that also includes 'water' to clean 'with it'. I understand the word "Alaikum" means "Over you / On you", He sent down on you water from sky to cleanse you with it. Water coming down from sky is rain, when it fall over you / on you then I don't think you can save you head / hair from it, except when you are wearing something like helmet, cap, etc.
I understand that "tahhara" means to clean from top to bottom of our body. With this understanding you can conclude the meaning in 56 inshaAllah.
There is another type of tahhara without water but it is has nothing to do with 56 as that includes water.
9103
9103 Take from their money a charity to purify them and develop them with it, and make contact with them; for your contact is a tranquility for them; and God is Hearer, Knowledgeable.May Allah guide us all to His true path pr

Peace MMKahn.
I think you understood my question. As you have pointed out from 56, it is clear that as well as doing wudu (washing the face, hands up to elbows, wiping head and feet) one HAS TO take a bath before praying if one has had sex. I was simply asking from the speakers of Arabic, whether this bath would include washing the hair. Your explanation of the verb has helped clarify for me that the verb would imply washing the head also.
Thank you for taking the time and for your patience.

Peace Layth
Wiping the head is a must for ablution. So, I suppose a person can bathe their entire body (not the hair) but would need to wipe the head for ablutiuon to be complete.
It looks like God was running out words to issue such a command. Glory be to Him, He is above that.
The verb for ?a state of ceremonial impurity/ junuban? is fa-iahhar in 56 and in 443 is taghtasil while for wiping is ?wa-im'sa??.........I don?t know how you Layth came to conclusion that washing the body except hair by wiping it is washing/ taghtasil when it comes to definion of fa-iahhar in the Quran given by God (taghtasilū is beyond me!!
Another fallacy in your interpretation.
Whatever method we use for washing/bathing the body parts it applies to hair too....the whole body must be washed...The method has been left to us....If there was any exception God would have told us , He is very precise?.Since there isn?t then washing applies to the whole body including hair.

Peace All,
I am wondering what everyone thinks about the rule of washing after sex. Do people understand it to mean the hair as well?
Dawn. The best is to take a shower, make sure use shampoo
allah gave us mind, he's not gonna tell us how to was our behinds, come on, if it had to be the case, than he could have created us like any other animals and inspire us of everything we do -

Another reason hair isn't a body part is because we don't need it or at least not all of it. thats why get hair cuts or shave. everything that is labeled as a body part is something we need.

It?s true?.When we usually talk about washing hair, we?re talking about head and hair.
Do you take bath with cloth on
Swimming, diving! Does that answer your question?! ;D
If you have hair on your head can you wash your head without washing the hair?!! )

Do you take bath with cloth on hypno temptThat wasn't the point at all of what i said, it wasn't about body parts, well, if you feel cloths arent a part of your body, that is a problem, because they have to be clean in order to feel comfortable, even though they're not a part of a body, your hair either, is your follecule a part of yoru body or not ? some body parts re-grow like nails for exemple, some parts we loose, some peope loose their vue, some loose their hair
I don't know what was the pont of your reply
all I meant was to think logic, for we are responsible of our intelligence that all, taking a shower is better than doing wudu and doing both is ridiculous, that is how logic says, unless, god need us to do wudu even after a shower -
Peace Emil
The "thahara" in 56 means purify/clean and "bathe" is a forced meaning by the translators.
Also the most distorted meaning for "janaba" can not mean "intercourse"
peace brother
how are you?
I was just browsing through when i came across your post, i would like to clarify;
I agree that " THaarOO" means cleaning, or purifing, but, 5-56 created a question,"
"THharrooo" HOW? This was clarified in 4-43,
Purifying/cleaning is to be done by "Ghusal"---- Not only that, but an exception was also given to" ABRI saebellin" (Traveller) If one is traveling and enters a state of junnab , he can pray without taking a bath, with wadu only.

Dawn.Apparently, "lightly rubbing your head" is part of the ablution, so if there is hair on your head, it follows that -communication disrupted- (can you figure out what comes next?)

Personally I feel disgusting after sex so I always take a thorough shower.

Was your wife the first girl you had ever been with, and you the first man? I feel a bit bad for her. I believe its likely that no matter how I felt I would perform the gruesome task as a duty and a skill at the very least since I find it might be the cause of some anxiety or unhappiness for a wife to feel unwanted or unloved or unattractive or whatever.

That would be because she thinks with the flesh. Instincts, also female ones, do not belong to the spirit.
