    peace,

How did this direction thing become so complicated?

I think it is because of the problems it creates, discussion of 20 problems here
    http//mypercept.co.uk/articles/meaning-masjid-al-haram-Quran.html

No-one has answered them to date* if you can feel free.

*not that I think they cannot be answered but certainly not with an eloquent/coherent/logical explanation.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

      Peace progressive1993,

God specifically states that we are to have rituals
      These are rituals

2/184 Yusuf Ali (Fasting) for a fixed number of days;.............................................

Once you complete your Contact Prayer, you shall remember GOD while
standing, sitting, or lying down.* Once the war is over, you shall observe the Contact
Prayers; the Contact Prayers are decreed for the believers at specific times

      rit?u?al/rtul/ Show Spelled Show IPA
      noun

      1. an established or prescribed procedure for a religious or other rite.

      God bless

      peace

...Not in the mind-numbingly sense that most people are doing it in nowadays.
And you don't contradict any of the previous statements about the "qiblah".

      Bonus from Wiki

A ritual "is a stereotyped sequence of activities involving gestures, words, and objects, performed in a sequestered place, and designed to influence preternatural entities or forces on behalf of the actors' goals and interests." Rituals may be prescribed by the traditions of a community, including a religious community. Rituals are characterized by formalism, traditionalism, invariance, rule-governance, sacral symbolism and performance.

I am no longer a Sunna-rejecter. See 4:59-65, 62:2-4, 3:31, 4:156, 7:157 Messenger teaches and is to be followed and obeyed. Examples of revelation received which is not in the Qur'an: 3:123-126, 33:37, 2:187, 66:3, 62:9.

Definition I gave was sound, yours is more complicated but same thing, therefore I agree.

You did not address the ayats

I'm not surprised that you do not understand, and lol you didnt explain anything - just put verses.
Either way, I gave my opinion on this issue. There is no "direction of prayer". Not once is "qiblah" towards "al masjid al haram" put in connection with salat specifically.

For record and informing members of this forum i insert Dr. Ali Fazely response in FB
                in this topic.

                Ali Fazely Qibla
2144 - We saw that you turn your face toward the sky. Hence, We turned you toward the Qibla that pleases you. Therefore, turn your face toward the Sacred Mosque. And wherever you are, turn your faces toward it. And indeed those who are given the scripture know for sure that this is the truth from their Lord. And God is not unaware of what you do.

Direction of A to B on a sphere is along the geodesic arc along the greatest circle defined by the center, A and B. So the line AB is the direction of the vector. Therefore, from the antipode, you simply pivot your head down (along the diameter of the sphere) and you are facing the Sacred Mosque. Obviously this can be done on any spherical object, i.e. the Moon, Mars or any place in the universe.

Below I have pasted a neutrino image of the Sun taken by the Super-K detector. For neutrinos the Sun is always visible no matter where you are on the Earth, day or night.
                See the following website.

                http//strangepaths.com/the-sun-seen.../2007/01/06/en/
Image of the Sun taken through the Earth, in ?neutrino light?, at the Super-Kamiokande detector (Japan). The image has been obtained with a 503 days exposure, by registering neutrinos emitted from the solar core and detected in a 50 000-ton water pool located 1 km underground. At night, neutrinos were transparently traversing the whole earth before being registered in this image.

                                which direction to pray?

                                from the heart.

                                someone once asked me...

how are you supposed to pray?

                                i said; with Sincerity.

                                so they said

                                with sincerity. amen.

pray like this, and you will surely be blessed.

                                peace be with you
