I am having problems again with believing in hell!
-
Peace everyone. I am again having problems with believing in hell. It seems like it impossible for a God to want to torture anyone for eternity in next life.
I would really like to hear some reasoning from everyone as to why would He actually do it? Why pay such a high price for let's say being a nonbelievers but otherwise a good, law obiding, contributing, polite member of society?
I can't think of anything that would justify it in my eyes at the moment. I do bieve in the demons wich means that I do believe in evil just a I believe in good God, its just the torment as described in the Quran that I am struggling with.
Can I get some reasoning please?
-
peace man.
The Hell -it's a place for those who deserves it. This is a promise from GOD. it is just that simple.
As you probably know we all shall see the Hell, !but not everyone shall stay in it.
For that-> "not everyone" GOD promises the Paradise.!

Salaam Ervin,
Some people will never be good. Where should they go?And some people experience pain on earth. Through the hands of others. And these people spill blood and corrupt and won't stop because they don't feel remorse. They don't believe in good so its just survival and opportunism.
If a person rejects good and afterlife. They are just a machine of self gratification waiting for death.
Believing in falsehood is the same, it means you did not think the hereafter was a concept worthy of pondering and learning about. So the extent of their good deeds is limited to the pleasure it affords them in this life and the raising of their status in the eyes of others.

The idea that hell is eternal is really odd indeed and I don't believe that is the case. The Quran has two words that many like to translate to as "eternally" and "forever". Both of those words have a variety of meanings. Eternal can also mean "to abide in" thus those verse means that you should be simply there with no time stated next to it, and there have been times in these verses that "until God wills it" is stated thus further proving how hell likely isn't eternal. As for "forever" that also can be translated to "a long time" thus simply residing in hell for a long time.
Some may say I am simply choosing these out of my desires, but one has to remember God is The Merciful. God has many many traits, and we undeniably agree with each of those. Then we got the trait known as "Merciful" which if we undeniably agree with all those, then why would we ever have problems with that trait? no human would ever make someone suffer eternally, and since God is infinately more merciful than any human, then God wouldn't do it either.
There also is this one verse, which I don't remember where it is at again, but it stated that God punishes only what the crime deserved to be punished for and no finite crime is worth an eternity indeed.
The only one who might get an eternal hell might be Shaytan i'd think as he never ever wants to submit and thus will stay in hell till he submits which only God knows if he ever might.
Thus my believe of hell there. I hope this helps )

Allah said in the Quran ?o believer believe?.?
This means to reaffirm that you belief in Him, the Messenger, the books?.
If shytan will be in Hell forever so will the one that followed him. Allah will not forgive the one that commits shirk so hell is forever for him too. Yes Allah is Merciful, He can take out of hell whom he wants and put him in Paradise.
Remember Allah is Merciful also he is Punisher too. His mercy is grate, His Punishment is also grate. Now to the person that is law abiding citizen. The momentum the world is going, only Allah knows best what will happen to this world. We had laws that were illegal now it is legal. In many countries incest is illegal. What will happen to a person if he wants to marry his own mother? Some will say if they are both in agreement than no problem, others may object to it. Only Muslims will actively oppose it. I said this because man made laws are always changing. But the laws given to us in the Quran are not changeable.
Only those people will be saved that will follow according to the Quran the Last testament. That?s why Allah said to the believers to believe.
MAY THE LORD OF THE WORLDS GUIDE THOSE THAT ARE IN NEED OF GUIDE NESS -
The Bible actually does not teach or describe hell. It's a belief that developed centuries after Jesus and became official Roman Church doctrine from the 5th century. Since then, the belief in hell has changed and morphed. The Eastern Christian traditions don't really believe in a torturous hell as they know it is not in the Bible. Western Christianity developed this doctrine from pagan myths. Universalist Christians also don't believe in hell as it does not reflect the heart of God and it is not a Biblical teaching. If hell really does exist, how come God did not tell any of the Biblical prophets?
The Jews would have no motive to remove such a warning if you think about it. The fact that Islam teaches hell baffles me.These links explain it in detail, as I don't have time to explain in detail http//what-the-hell-is-hell.com/

Nothing is eternal, only God. Neither paradise nor hell are eternal, and everythign will return to Him. That is what He says many times in qur'an, to Him is destiny nor to hell or paradise, Him. And how could anything be eternal just as God. There would be two eternal, hundreds of eternals?
Paradise is a stage in our return to him as hell is a stage in our return to him.
To purport that God is good, latif, wadud, and does not commit injustice and to at the same time that He would put anybody for eternity to suffer undescribable, for something he did that wa snot eternal nor did do eternally, would contradict his own words, and would contradict what He says of himself, because if we, who are mere mostly mediocre mortals would cringe at the idea of putting somebody for hell to eternity )if we grasp what eternity is, which we don't) and we are not the most merciful, or latif or anything like that, how can we believe at the same time that God would do what we would not adscribe even tot he worst of mortals? How can we believe that and carry on saying that He is just, and merciful and the rest?
It is like when we say sombody who is a monster of evil and cruelty !will rot in jail! Obviously we do not means that he will actually rot, he will be there enough to realise that cruelty or evilness works both ways, that he is not god, and that what he may do to others can be done to him... teach him a lesson.
Eternal anything other than God is not what the Qur'an teaches.

I saw some youtube clip once about NDEs (Near Death Experience) and this person described the feeling of what he saw as hell as something that he wouldn't even want for Hitler, Saddam or Bin Laden (yes, he was american... but you get the point).
Another things with eternal is that it is probably a misnomer. If times doesn't exist, then it is not eternal.... it just is. Eternal feels like time that never finishes... it just goes on and on.... but the absence of time would probably be something else.
I guess we'll never know until we die... we can just speculate meanwhile...
Peace all

Many of these so-called "Near death experiences" contradict each other. It is the result of brainwashing and imagination.

Its easy. Just look at the injustices around you. One day someone will do something and you will know why. It takes a lot of work to make into heaven but even more work to make it into hell.

Peace Ervin, all
To illustrate my point of view, I will give this analogy
You know when you have a kid, you need to teach him, among other basics, to not touch fire because it is harmful for him. But no matter how much you repeat it to him to prevent him being harmed, he will not stop trying to touch until he get burned once, then he KNOWS for sure that fire hurts when mishandled.
Imagine then that he persists, for whatever illogical reason, to alaways put his hand in fire willingly, what then can you do for him to prevent him from being harmed? Either you can restrict his free-will, or you can let him live freely in his hell as long as he persists in his wrong-doings.
I hope that you can see that those who are/will be in hell are there as a result of their own free-will. And if you take out their free-will, then they wouldn't exist, as persons.
I think that the straight path described in 6151-153 is sufficient to help us avoid "hell", whatever it is, and wish for "paradise", whatever good the god the creator merciful wants for us, the lord of those with knowledge.
Knowledge is the mean to freedom, but it is also a weapon that can be used agaisnt the less kwnolegeable and the ignorants, but in the end, it is all a matter of free-will.
-
Peace,
Allah has no wants. Whether you get punished or not does nothing to God.
However, we are given guidance so that we can live a peaceful life and create a peaceful society. There are incentives (Paradise) so that we accomplish this. There is also the promise of punishment to deter us from the path of destruction. Basically, it is similar to the incentives.
Now, if God makes a statement, why would He go back on it? That would make him a liar, and therefore that wouldn't be God anymore. Remember that the Quran uses both allegories as well as literal meanings.
As far as other people are concerned, why are you even concerned with them? Not even the Prophet Muhammad knew what his outcome in the hereafter would be. The relationship is between the person and God and they will be all judged justly. Be concerned with yourself
Peace

When I was younger i remember wondering how can someone deserve to be hell and what does someone has to do to actually go there.
As I got older certain people have done things to me that had a lot of negative impact on my life and brought me a lot of pain and torment. What I found is that rarely do we understand the impact that some actions can have on others until we go through it. Its not the actions people do that we should look at but the impact it has on somebody else.
There are people who try to thrive on injustices, like the Syrian regime and people like Ghaddafi and the people around them. The corrupt officials who ruin many people's livelihood and can destroy nations so they can live comfortably. The slave traders and big corporate leaders who profiteer from people's blood and tears. The war profiteers and drug dealers who are being paid by blood. Who ruined families and mde people grif and mamed people for life. Just see the pain this brings to others.
However though now I understand why some people end up in hell, I have not understood yet the eternal part.

A person cannot deny hell and in the same time remain a muslim. So I would advice you not to let Satan take control over you and instead fear Allah and admit that hell exsist. It wont surprise me if quranist end in hell anyway since they have denied our holy prophet sws.
