    Salaam.

Isn't the act of verbally asking Allah for something a direct and clear contradiction with its (Allah's) omniscience? Why not?

    Thank you.

Of course not, as Allah knows all our needs and aspiration and just like a child who can not reach a shining object asks parents to help, and parents pass on that object if it's safe for a child to handle it.
Similarly we depend on Allah. Whether our demands are beneficial for us or for a wider good only Allah knows and so grants our wishes as He sees fit.
    Peace

This is not a good example at all. Allah knows everything there is to know about us, while the parents do not about their children.

You really don't get it. I am asking what is the point of verbally saying "Allah please give me X" if Allah already knows that you want "X".

Please understand that Invocation is a form of worship
And your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you." Indeed, those who are too proud to worship Me will enter hell, abased!. (4060)

In fact, We are commanded to ask God Almighty from his grace (432)

Yes God Almighty is omniscient and knows what we need and what, and in fact has given us much of what we need already (e.g food, water, limbs to move, eyesight, knowledge, wisdom, communication, internet etc)....

God ALmighty kind of us that we will be tested (292)
"amd We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient, (2155)

and you can see how people in the past did not ask for help from God (642, 2376)
If you need help, please ask/pray for it, it is a form of worship....

We're not asked to worship in the Quran, the word is translated accurately to "serve"

            Greetings and Peace, all group

The act of verbally (or even mentally) asking ALLAH is an act totally for our benefit. ALLAH doesn't need for us to ask (or anything else). It helps keep us conscious of ALLAH and the consequences of our actions, in order to strive towards goodness.

            ALLAH knows best.

See just the Hadithists who pray five times a day, they utter the words "Allahu Akbar" (etc.) but most are still very evil/bad human beings who do not help better the world in any way. Consequently, I do not see howt invoking the grace, or begging the help of Allah, either mentally or verbally would make anyone "good" or "remember" Allah.

We can "remember" Allah by doing good deeds, helping others and the world in general - not by uttering words. One becomes truly "muslim" by action and not by words...

Haha, yes, I too think that "salat" is not a structured namaz-like prayer.

That is true. Its an act of worship to ask God and we are commanded to do so in the Koran. Its also an evidence that you believe in God.

Nope, in the Quran we're asked to serve Allah

Well, how are we serving God Almighty by praying to him for things?
"Please save us" ( similar to 1022)
                        "Please provide us"
Sometimes, It is God Almighty who us doing us a favor (4917)

                          Praying is totally worthless sorry.

                          That verse 1022
He it is Who enableth you to traverse through land and sea; so that ye even board ships;- they sail with them with a favourable wind, and they rejoice thereat; then comes a stormy wind and the waves come to them from all sides, and they think they are being overwhelmed they cry unto Allah, sincerely offering (their) duty unto Him saying, "If thou dost deliver us from this, we shall truly show our gratitude!"

Simply says they'll be grateful to Allah.

And how is worshipping also praying?
                          Salat =/= prayer
                          Ibada ( or w/e ) =/= worship

They would oblige you that they have become Muslims! Say, "Do not oblige me by your Islam. No indeed, (but) Allah obliges you that He has guided you to belief, in case you are sincere."

The other verse, also totally irrelevant.

The problem is when you choose to translate "ibada" into "worship" instead of "servitude". One needs to understand that Islam is not a religion, and therefore is not a set of rituals created to appease and please an external God, Islam is a deen, an order, the "muslim" is required to serve Allah by doing good deeds such as helping the world, giving charity, striving for good and pursuing knowledge. And so, the argument inevitably fails.

God Almighty would be the ONLY being worthy of all worship
how would you act in front of a king?
Would you not show some humbleness and respect? Or would you like him to go "off with his head"

How would you act before God, the Kind of the universe?
would you not bow down when speaking, or show some respect?

Since when is a human king superior to me? I would act with him as I would act with other human beings, maybe worse.

And this really does not prove anything. Worshipping is not "showing respect", it's living simply to adore an unexisting entity blindly, not being free to do what you want ( without transgressing of course )

I wouldn't act any way before God, because he does not exist. That is the foundation of Islam. There is no god, there is only Allah.

I absolutely second what Kaiokenred just said. If you want to show your respect to Allah, respect his creation, recycle, help your brethren who are in need, volunteer, read and learn, strive for good etc. doing heedlessly a sheepishly structured namaz-like prayer to show "your respect" to your creator is absolute none-sense.

                                      hi Kaiokenred and lordfox,

I just again wonder, how is it salaat is equal to sheep action or kind of ritual?
And the word "worship" does it not means perform a duty or task; function as; serve; ??
Guyz, i understand that you know something but let's do not make from fly a big elephant.

I have special question to you, what do you think about juma salaat; is it like ritual thing 2 ?

p.s. please don't give me just link from http//servantofthelight.com/, USE your words.

                                        hi Kaiokenred and lordfox,

I just again wonder, how is it salaat is equal to sheep action or kind of ritual?
And the word "worship" does it not means perform a duty or task; function as; serve; ??
Guyz, i understand that you know something but let's do not make from fly a big elephant.

I have special question to you, what do you think about juma salaat; is it like ritual thing 2 ?

p.s. please don't give me just link from http//servantofthelight.com/, USE your words.

Start by understanding that "salaat" does neither translate to nor is a form of ritual prayer. As for the difference between worship and servitude, you can use a dictionary. This is not even the subject of discussion anyway.
