All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

      Two different things

      1. You buy something (keeping everything else more or less in balance) and keep it with you forever = then you die.

      2. You refuse to use your wealth (nothing else is more or less in balance) and keep it locked away forever= then you die.

As you can clearly see, one of these is the issue the quran talks about. And it's not 1. The responsible thing to do with 1 would be to will it away/see it used properly within your lifetime. If you don't, well then...not sure if it's a 'sin' but it is irresponsible. And we are told to be responsible. If you deliberately bury/burn/hide it so that no one can ever use it after you die, that's intentionally just being a jerk Whatever we have is a loan from God and material possessions temporary. If you see things this way, makes more sense. As for hoarded money, dude that's what you will away anyways? In one form or another? It has value in some form or another? No one wills air do they?

Once again, just try to keep it balanced because that's the issue we need to worry about. Strangely enough, not just regarding hoarding.

Well okay I understand better ) thus our bought material isn't what it means but rather our usable cash whether its gold, silver, money, literally treasure. Course I guess its not really the idea of hoarding is forbidden its mentioning as this is the only real verse mentioning that word(plus thr verse after) but rather that they refuse to spend money in the name of God and end up hoarding it instead P

Anyways aren't we all required to do a will as we need to make inheritance? My only issue is that why then even mention hoarding as bad if the money can be willed to another or simply that someone will come round to take it anyways?

Hoarding is bad because you aren't using wealth usefully during your lifetime thus creating an imbalance and being a selfish git. You can enjoy your collectables etc etc long as you're doing the needful as well.

        Peace

Thus where 934 kicks in as it states hoarding is bad if you also don't give a share. Btw I noticed the word used for hoarding is "treasure" and in Wakas post up there it showed how that same word was used positively with people owning "treasure" there fore it showsas you said that we csn collect such treasure but should also keep the balance by paying the charity or other mentioned people, like how whenever I get a pay check I pay half of the excess to my mother for her to do whatever she wishes) course i'm now jobless at the moment and so I simply get free money from my dad which I use to buy games. Cause its a gift, I haven't used it to pay much charity unless I seeked forgiveness.

Anyways thanks you very much D you always are quite knowledgeable and look at things realistically )

Onr questoon though in regarss to wills though. How can we really draw up a will if the rules of inheritance already decide where all our belongings go andtherefore wouldn't be able to ever will my games for example to go to some museum or something P

            Yes exactly.

            You're very welcome )

The will is required. In case there is no will, that's where the rules come in for distribution as I understand it.

            peace

Hmm considering I live in the west no such rule exists though and therefore if I make no will, its up to the government to take it so I had always assumed that I had to make a will based on that.

Not saying that there are existing rules in countries that you have to make a will, saying that according to the quran one is required to (2180).

Hmm that would be great if this is indeed the case as for a while I really wanted to have a lot of money by the end and to write a will where upon my death almost all of it is dispersed to the needy, which would help me as a final act of giving charity

Course it does hurt economy, but the question here was that if simply giving the required portion and then hoarding it up for later consumption or as backup will it be sinful? Many business need such backup plans to stay alive incase their business is starting to collapse let alone any civilian.

I guess it depends on the situation for a business. In the scenario I described earlier, it is definitely hoarding and condemned. If the business, for whatever reason, must hold on to certain financial assets, goods, etc. then I guess it is plausible for it to hold on to them, but that is much less the case then the former scenario.

Let me talk about general hoarding...

The Quran puts a balance to spending "in the cause of God". You're not supposed to go over the top and you are not supposed to be stingy. Remember that in 934 hoarding is contrasted to spending in the cause of God.

2195 Spend in the cause of God, but do not throw your resources to disaster. Do kindness, for God loves those who do kindness.

                    Read this too

                    7018 Who hoarded and counted/withheld.
7019 Indeed, human being is created anxious.
7020 When adversity touches him he is miserable.
7021 When good touches him he is stingy.
7022 Except for those who bond/follow closely
7023 Who always maintain their bond.
7024 Those who set aside part of their wealth.
7025 For the seeker and the deprived.

What follows is that saving money for future (financially-deprived) times does not equate hoarding. Rather, much like ribaa (usury), it is contrasted to spending in the cause of God (giving money/resources to the needy). Those who have enough money, and withhold a portion of it from the needy, are hoarders.

I am no longer a Sunna-rejecter. See 4:59-65, 62:2-4, 3:31, 4:156, 7:157 Messenger teaches and is to be followed and obeyed. Examples of revelation received which is not in the Qur'an: 3:123-126, 33:37, 2:187, 66:3, 62:9.

Well said. Considering how 934's part about hoarding, it seems its not really referring to hoarding on its own as sinful but rather not paying charity and instead hoarding it as such which also seems further elaborated on in those verses you provided and what you also have said )

Thus its simply in the end about what you pay in the name of God to those of whom are listed you can pay to and if you are stringy on that then its sinful and not the hoarding part of it. One of the things one could do by not paying of course is hoard it of course, but of course not the only thing as one can instead use that money to do bad things or simply spend it on luxury P

Anyways thank you Savage, Progressive, Waka and everyone else in this topic for giving me a clear answer to all this )
