Iam so confused lately ... if Quran says it is easy to read then why are there so many contradicting intrepretations?

I know the question is rhetorical..we are supposed to use our mind/logic/reason to deduce its meaning. But still.....

Should we follow the monotheist/Quran alone approach or the approach where ppl say salah is not really prayer, Hajj is nt what its supposed to be & Allah is not to be worshipped/glorified/exalted in the literal sense?

Also about Hajj...after reading some articles im beginning to doubt if kaaba is really the place of 'The Pilgrimage' or is it in Jerusalem near the Dome of the rock? -\ Would performing Hajj (tawaf) equal to pagan ritual ? &

Follow the Truth. Only the Truth. Truth is quite subjective, but use your reasoning.

Why would Allah be a male deity who controls reality?
Why would Allah need your worship?
Why would you need to pray when Allah is omniscient?
Why would you need to do any rituals to "show your devotion" when Allah is omniscient and knows everything?
Which would be the better servant to Allah, the one who does the better for mankind or someone who worships?
What would you believe jinn are? Actual psychopaths who rule the world and we can know that exists, or supernatural creatures there's absolutely no evidence they exist?

Rituals are a means to an end. We are to praise and glorify God and people have different ways to do them. All people have rituals and the Quran does not expect any different except that it should be directed to God only. All humans have prayers and haj rituals.

Do what you believe is right and do not care what others care. The Quran is easy to understand, its people who are hard to understand.

All deluded, religious humans have prayers and rituals

Who said the Quran is easy to read? BTW easy to read and understand are two different things.

Contradictions? you might mean multiple interpretations? they exist because of people's varying approaches

don't listen to what people say you'll just confuse yourself with a billion and one ideas and not know what to follow, it's hard to resist..

Sadly the best way is the hard way and that is to read and discover yourself through a methodology that is sound and verifiable (which would make it logical- hopefully..)

about hajj of what you read is there any clear indication that it must be performed at either of the two places? maybe there is some assumptions?

The best way is to analyze the translations with the lenses of logic and morality, and not the inverse.

                Foxy, what is "morality"?

The innate (though some on this forum will persist in defending moral relativism) ability of being able to differentiate right from wrong, evil from good.

IN MY OPINION AND PERSPECTIVE, I could be oh so very wrong!

Well the concept is, especially in the Qur'an, God says he does not need it, its for your own good, he repeatedly says that in the Qur'an that he has nothing to lose if people don't want to worship him. All what you do for God is for your own good, it won't affect his status. As far as I understand. And if I don't do it I would loose. It has nothing to do with God's needs according to the Qur'an....and if he wanted us all to believe or be the same he would, but he has his reasons to not make us all the same. The angels even told him, why not just destroy those who do not believe in you?...

Jinn, are meant to be unprovable according to the Qur'an..., however I understand your frustration over people who want to make everything in life Jinn's fault...or even Satan's fault...we need to work in life according to its rules, and we need to learn from our mistakes and learn how to optimize our life's quality...that is not against believing in God, or Jinn...no where in the Qur'an does it give people who are obsessed with Jinn influencing their lives bullets, infact it says the unseen is not your domain, and leave it, it is not your problem, and that our damnation is a matter we control, after God's permission.

Which would be a better servant...I guess who does both help human kind and worship God, that is what God says pray and pay charity, and do good to people, and learn, and procreate...he says you can do a lot of things to show your worship. And says do not be unjust, and kill and etc...so it is not just prayer.

That is as far as I have read, you can argue the Qur'an is false, but it does have statements that are relevant to your questions...I think.

This according to what I have been reading recently I could be wrong.

No he doesn't, you see, by worshipping all I do is waste time, it's an extremely useless act. And in the Quran, God doesn't say anything, Allah does. Understand the fact the translations you follow are extremely wrong, hadith affected and not translated by the Arabic of Muhammad's time.

I asked you to translate two aayaats in other thread but came to know that you cannot translate them. Anyways, can you please tell me your understand on the following aayat?

                      572

I will translate only the red highlighted part as my question remains there in.

572 They have certainly disbelieved who say, "Allah is the Maseeh, the son of Maryam".....

As per your understanding / claim for the word of Allah, following is the translation of the above aayat.

572 They have certainly disbelieved who say the one who is not a deity to worship is the Maseeh, the son of Maryam.....

Interesting! Christians are right in their views then! hmm

I saw many of these kind of verses that I couldn't explain before and started doubting whether what I believed was right, but then I got answers, and pretty much I regard every translation I can't understand ( if I can it has to be reasonable and using Classical Arabic ) as absolutely nothing until I know what it means. Ask Badar for a translation, I'm sure this can be explained. If your translation was right this wouldn't even make sense since Jesus is not Isa and he's nothing but a fictional character.

p.s remember Allah ( who is not God ) is the perfect anti-name, it is neither a name nor not a name, so translating it like that trying to give a whole different meaning to the verse because of "Allah" makes no sense.

It's up to humans to research the meaning. Saying god should preserve the meaning means that god would be whispering the verse's meaning to human's hears. How do you want to preserve the meaning in scriptures? Times always change and you can't have a fixed meaning like you have a fixed, written text such as the quran. Binding the meaning of it in text would mean we have to follow stuff like hadith. After all hadith are supposed to be the meaning of the quran, according to hadithists.

Who said the Quran is easy to read? BTW easy to read and understand are two different things.

I assumed they refer to the verse that says Al Quran contains all of what we need and is easy to understand (something like that). I wish I could give you an exact quote but I can't remember even which surah it was in. Maybe someone can help?

Nefertiti I've found it hugely confusing too. I have wondered since Al Quran is not completely specific about many things and many practices whether it's important for Muslims to be ''the same''. Maybe it's ok to be different.

Like when it comes to this question of ''how do we know how to pray without hadith?" (I may self-combust if I get asked that again...). If it doesn't say how we must do it then my 'feeling' (just my feeling mind you) is that how we do it can't be the most important thing.

Yes you may be right there. I've had a cursory look and can not find anything.

Maybe since it says the book is complete and a 'clarification' for all things (1689) I may have assumed it must not be as hard as many Muslims keep saying. )

It is not preserved because it was a revelation to one man, Muhammad, and it was never intended to be a religion "en masse", but just his own workbook for self-help, as he often says in the Qur'an "my Lord" many times... I follow my religion and you follow yours, I worship what I worship and you... etc etc...

I take it you do not consider your self to be a Muslim - in the traditional sense?

Also - considering what you said above

How do you reconcile that with the fact that many verses allude to Quran being a revelation for the people?

"This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah -"
