Hi guys
-
if you are a believer you need to Read the Quran
and if you are not a believer you will not be able to understand it
so to be kufr and try to understand Quran......... you have no shotSorry, I strongly disagree. It is special pleading. There is no rational reason why a book, written by humans, designed by humans, in a human language and printed by humans should be beyond my intellectual capacity. The Koran uses a vocabulary of around 2000 words and covers general topics and allegoric stories. It says in the Koran that it was devised by a god, transmitted to humans via an angel, and this very god says that the texts are intended for all people.
Lest you should say,
The Book was sent down only to two peoples before us, (Jews and Christians) and we were indeed unaware of what they read. Or lest you should say,Had the Book been sent down to us, we should surely have been better guided than they.? There has now come to you a clear evidence from your Lord and a guidance and a mercy.
Koran 6 156- 157Does this mean the book is intended only for those who already believe and are followers of Muhammad?
And somehow, I don't see myself included in the group of people you title as "more evil than those who are reminded of their Lord's proofs"
You insist on using an Arabic word even though I did not say I speak Arabic, least of all ancient Arabic.
Wikipedia says about "kufr", which you use to describe me
Types of kufr (disbelief) - Adapted from 'Tafseer ibn Katheer The Qur'an uses the word kufr to denote a person who covers up or hides realities, one who refuses to accept the dominion and authority of God (Allh). There are several types of Al-Kufr ul Akbar
Kufrul-'Inaad Disbelief out of stubbornness. This applies to someone who knows the truth and admits to knowing the truth and admits to knowing it with his tongue, but refuses to accept it and refrains from making a declaration. Allah says Throw into Hell every stubborn disbeliever
Kufrul-Inkaar Disbelief out of denial. This applies to someone who denies with both heart and tongue. Allah says They recognize the favors of Allah, yet they deny them. Most of them are disbelievers.
Kufrul-Kibr Disbelief out of arrogance and pride. The disbelief by the devils (Iblees) is an example of this type of Kufr.
Kufrul-Juhood Disbelief out of rejection. This applies to someone who acknowledges the truth in his heart, but rejects it with his tongue. This types of kufr is applicable to those who calls themselves Muslims but who reject any necessary and accepted norms of Islam such as Salaat and Zakat. Allaha says They denied them (OUR SIGNS) even though their hearts believed in them, out of spite and arrogance.
Kufrul-Nifaaq Disbelief out of hypocrisy. This applies to someone who pretends to be a believer but conceals his disbelief. Such a person is called a MUNAFIQ or hypocrite. Allah says Verily the hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of Hell. You will find no one to help them.
Kufrul-Istihaal Disbelief out of trying to make HARAM into HALAL. This applies to someone who accepts as lawful (Halal) that which Allaah has made unlawful (Haram) like alcohol or adultery. Only Allah has the prerogative to make things Halal and Haram and those who seek to interfere with His right are like rivals to Him and therefore fall outside the boundaries of faith.
Kufrul-Kurh Disbelief out of detesting any of Allah's commands. Allah says Perdition (destruction) has been consigned to those who disbelieve and He will render their actions void. This is because they are averse to that which Allah has revealed so He has made their actions fruitless.
Kufrul-Istihzaha Disbelief due to mockery and derision. Allah says Say Was it at Allah, His signs and His apostles that you were mocking? Make no excuses. You have disbelieved after you have believed.
Kufrul-I'raadh Disbelief due to avoidance. This applies to those who turn away and avoid the truth. Allah says And who is more unjust than he who is reminded of his Lord's signs but then turns away from them. Then he forgets what he has sent forward (for the Day of Judgement)
Kufrul-Istibdaal Disbelief because of trying to substitute Allah's Laws. This could take the form of
Rejection of Allah's law (Sharee'ah) without denying it
Denial of Allah's law and therefore rejecting it, or
Substituting Allah's laws with man-made laws. Allah says Or have they partners with Allah who have instituted for them a religion which Allah has not allowed. Allah says Say not concerning that which your tongues put forth falsely (that) is lawful and this is forbidden so as to invent a lie against Allah. Verily, those who invent a lie against Allah will never prosper.Which of these cover your opinion about me?
Which one would stop or prevent me of understanding the message in the Koran?
If I asked you whether you understand the Koran, would you answer with YES?
Would you be able to explain it to someone like me? -
Peace StopS.
As long as the decision/conclusion you get is your own, that is fine.
You are checking/investigating ,then you are making up your own mind. You seem to be going about it in the right manner.
Also if things are not making sense to you ;You are not accepting them. That is the correct way.
I wish you the best of luck with your search.
Peace.I see where you get your nick from )
Thank you, your feedback is much appreciated.

When I was looking for the answer to a question I came across this forum. As I am not a Muslim but a non-believer living in an Islamic country, I am confronted with Islam on a daily basis and want to understand what and why Muslims think and believe.
I have read extensively and have discussed Islam with Imams and Koran teachers, but I can't speak to Muslims about how they consolidate their religion with the 21st century in everyday life without being insensitive. So this is why I look for answers to my questions on the various forums run by Muslims to understand Muslims.
If I seem callous or emotional, please understand that I am not trained in communicating with religious people and my critical and sceptic approach is apparent not only in religion.
Thanks
