A question regarding the concept of Oath of Engagement
-
As for Min, well it is a fact according to classical Arabic dictionaries that Min means something out of a whole. For example, here I have two examples from the Quran coming in my mind, first is the sentence Ma Kana Muhammadan Illa Rasul, Qad Khalat Min Qablihi Rusul
And what is Muhammad other than a messenger? Passed Min Qiblihi many messengers
Qablihi means his Past, Min Qablihi means From the Past. If God didn't use Min, then it would mean, that the whole Past before the Prophet was filled with messengers non stop, like, the Past was based on messengers, however, using Min shows that it means From the Past, as in, from the whole of Past, there were sometimes where there existed messengers. Similarly another example is (I'm writing from memory, so I pray that God forgives me if I make a mistake) La Yahilulakan Nisa Min Bad
Not is permissible for you any woman Min Bad
Bad means future, and Min Bad means From the future
If God used Bad without Min, then it would mean that no woman is permissible for the Prophet in the future, as in, the whole future, which is impossible, so using Min shows that From the Future refers to the the time from the future till the Prophet will remain alive.
Thanks for the info. I think your right. I've gotta add this to the summary and then think about what sort of oaths would fit well with regards to that which a community possesses. This should help understand what MMA encompasses.
It turned out you are right, sixhly is a word I checked a dictionary, but surprisingly, my web browser Google Chrome says its not.
I was just kidding when I said sixthly was a word ) anyways this is good because now....it's 1-1. You were right about 425 and I was right about sixthly
That's all I have to say, btw believe me, you look like one of those super models who companies use for their advertisement. Your pretty good looking
Your too kind. Thanks )

So........now what?

So........now what?
425 implies that when it comes to the MMA, one subset of them are those where in which the oaths are possessed by the community. So where as before we had no evidence/implication of this and thought that MMA were just those whom the individual's oaths possess, 425 acts as evidence that it does also cover those whom the community's oaths possess. Although technically there was never any solid evidence that the MMA were just narrowed to the oaths that the individuals possess. It was just the phrase was taken to mean as applying only to individuals rather than communities.
The next thing is to determine reasonable examples of what could be those whom the community's oaths possess such that the MMA fatayat are a secondary choice for marriage when one is unable to tawlan to marry a mushinat. To be honest though nothing reasonable is coming to me right now so it's kind of a dead end at the moment.
My main focus at the moment though is on the MMA in relation to the oaths of those whom the individuals possess rather than those that the community possesses.

Hmm...I just pray that wherever we come, let it be the trurh. Recently I just read the news that there was a lightning strike on a Mosque in Bangladesh, 13 people died, 15 injured while they were praying the Traveeh prayer, I think we all agree that natural disasters don't occur for no reason, it really got me thinking that Muslims need to re-understand their religion...

And an earthquake in Iran. I do think that some people have replaced what religion is supposed to preach (reverence of God and morality) with superstition and rituals. If their rituals and superstitions bring them good morals and zikr (reverence) then they've got good reason to continue what they are doing. But if they don't, then they are worthy of punishment I think. Whether this applies to these places or not is not for us to judge. It may just be a test for them to show their patience, strength, beneficence towards one another and unity. It may even bring them more together. Either way, there are loads of possible reasons for the natural disasters.
I pray we get to the truth regarding this also.

Agreed

Is that the criteria?
Sorry but I can't see how that verse is relevant to my answer, btw it should be 2211
-
Yes, it is 2211, my typing error. Thanks.
No problem, but still, why did you quote that verse anyway? I didn't get it...
-
That was about the statement to which you responded "Agreed".
Oh, ok

2211 And from the people there is he who serves God nervously. So if good comes to him, he is content with it; and if an ordeal comes to him, he makes an about-face. He has lost this world and the Hereafter. Such is the clear loss.
Are you conveying that those who face an ordeal (like earthquake etc.) and lose their faith in God have lost the hereafter as well as the present world?

Change "nervously" with borderline, on a corner, and thereafter, get the perception. It is about an individual.

Which individual? What's the relation to natural disasters?

Pl go back and see the quoted Ayah.
I really don't see a connection.

And from the people there is he who serves God nervously. So if good comes to him, he is content with it; and if an ordeal comes to him, he makes an about-face. He has lost this world and the Hereafter. Such is the clear loss. The point of my post was that the key thing to serving God, is morality and reverence. If one reads the Quran and this never does anything to benefit their morality or zikr, then their status as Quranist/Quran reader etc. is pretty much pointless. The primary purpose of the Quran as far as I can see is to enhance a people's morality (self-sufficiency + beneficence) and zikr. Thus the one who is morally good and reverent (whether this be with or without the Quran), is always better than the one who is of a lesser moral standing. Believing in the Quran makes no difference to this ranking.
The good person is the one that does not serve God half-heartedly but instead does so whole-heartedly provided that good = strong, righteous and reverent IMO.4913 O people, We created you from a male and female, and We made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Surely, the most honorable among you in the sight of God is the most righteous. God is Knowledgeable, Expert.
