    Salamun Alaika,

I fail to find in the grammar of four languages that I little know and understand, that a complete Verbal sentence can become a Possessive Phrase, as is done innovatively in the post.
The Verb is imperfect, second person; plural; masculine; in Jussive Mood visible by elision of Noon and addition of alif, caused by Prohibitive particle. The object of Verb is plural and is indivisible unit being part of possessive phrase. Carrying of an act upon "the heads of you people" is suggested that it should not be done. How can it be considered and translated as "Halk Rass " "the ring of head" and then construed as "helmet"?

    Wa 3alayka Salam ,

I see you tried so hard , but in my modest opinion you keep turning around and complicating things , do you seriously think verses of the Quran should be studied / examined the way you described it ?

I see you are stuck on the term "Halk Rass " , forget about it and do me a favor go ahead to the verse 2-196 , and provide your understanding .

For reminder This is my understanding

2/196 Perform the Al-Hajj ( pilgrimage) and the Al-'umrah ( visit) for Allah. And if ye are prevented, then send such gifts as can be obtained with ease, and do not uncover your heard (mean don?t take off your war helmet ) until the gifts have reached their destination. And whoever among you is sick or has hurt in his head must pay a ransom of fasting or almsgiving or offering. And if ye are in safety, then whosoever contenteth himself with the Al-'umrah (visit) to the Al-Hajj (pilgrimage) (shall give) such gifts as can be had with ease. And whosoever cannot find (such gifts), then a fast of three days while on the Al-Hajj (pilgrimage), and of seven when ye have returned; that is, ten complete . That is for him whoso folk are not present at the Al-Masjed Al-Haram ( The restricted House) . Observe your duty to Allah, and know that Allah is severe in punishment.

    2/196

48/27 Allah hath fulfilled the vision for His messenger in very truth. Ye shall indeed enter the Al-Masjed Al-Haram / The restricted House , if Allah will, in safety , uncovering your head, (mean you will be taking off your war helmet sign of safety) , and shortening ( mean shortening Al-Salwah not cutting hair shortly ) , not fearing. But He knoweth that which ye know not, and hath given you a near victory beforehand.

    48/27

My question was straight and simple , i appreciate you write straight your English translation/ understanding and provide your own proof and evidence from the Quran about the command find in 2-196 and 48-27

      Hi all and Peace,

nice post and I should say it is the most convincing translation I ever read about this verse.

      About the root HA-LAM-KAF

there is indeed a entry in Kazimisky (first arabic-french dictionnary from 1890) in page 481 entry 6 for root Ha-Lam-Kaf with the meaning, to circle, to surround from there, the step to cover head to translate halaqa rusukum is not so hard to grasp!

Strangely I would then think it means the contrary DO NOT COVER YOUR HEAD!!!!!

      2 comments out of subject

      • for arabic speaker this word is still in use when speaking about one show (halqa) among a serie (musalsal), this the exact image of a circle in a chain 00000
      • I saw once a documentary about an Indian women (don't remember he religion, there are so many in india), she was maybe indouist, and they have to shave their head when going in a temple for peligrinage!!!! I was so amazed about the similarities with "sunni hajj"!
They were shaving head in a room before entering the Temple, they pay the hair dresser (hair cutter) and they were collecting the hair to sell them to European who will convert them in extension for european women to prolongate their hairs (beurk).

      Peace

        Salamun alaik,

I do not know what you think as to what "verse" means and looks like to you. For me, it is a verbal message. Verbal message comprises of Word, phrase, sentence. I wonder how one can perceive without adhering to basics of reading a text, and knowing its these three parts. This "logic" is available only on FM forums.

Simple things seem complicated only when simple visible realities are denied visual perception to safeguard the image already made in brain.

No where in any language of the world you will find a scholar making himself look fool by reducing a complete verbal sentence into a Phrase which is smaller entity-of lesser signification than the sentence. A phrase can be the part of sentence, but the sentence is not the phrase.

Pl also see carefully what are you saying

and do not uncover your heard (mean don?t take off your war helmet ) until the gifts have reached their destination. And whoever among you is sick or has hurt in his head must pay a ransom of fasting or almsgiving or offering.

If he was hurt how he put the helmet on his head which he can put off?

And do you know to what the Army recruits-soldiers world over are subjected to? Are they follow "Sunni" tradition?

          Salam ,

You keep turning around , believe me you go nowhere!! , stop looking for English fancy word to attract attention and to create ambiguity , stop looking for any faults in my posting go to the main subject and provide your understanding , if you do not have any valid understanding and you keep looking for fancy words i would appreciate wither you witness by Allah front of the people that i m telling lies and you telling the truth , or simply say you do not agree with my understanding then it would be nice if you leave this thread in peace , if you keep posting in this thread but only disturbance welcome me ignoring your post

And do you know to what the Army recruits-soldiers world over are subjected to? Are they follow "Sunni" tradition?

Out of context , Don't escape stuck to the subject

It seems that you lost the fancy vocabulary now time for provocation strategy ?

Again I'll appreciate you post your English translation for the verse 2-196 and 48-27 .

If he was hurt how he put the helmet on his head which he can put off?

I explained in previous post while i was discussing with Wakas , here it is

Harm of one's head doesn't mean headache it mean someone who was hurt-ed in his head in the battle so it's a permission to not fight so in this case the ones who are hurt-ed in their heads will uncover their heads ( mean taking off the war helmet ) so they will not participate in the battle , in that case they need to pay a ransom for not participating in the battle

That is for him whoso folk are not present at the Al-Masjed Al-Haram ( The restricted House) . Observe your duty to Allah, and know that Allah is severe in punishment.

              2/196

The ones who has hurt in their heads + the ones that are sick are allowed to Uncover their heads , so they will not participate in the battle , they are excluded from the command below in red

In this case by being excluded from the fight , they are asked to pay a ransom .

When i first posted this thread i translated it as DO NOT COVER YOUR HEAD .

And then i realize the mistake , it should be DO NOT UNCOVER YOUR HEAD
to match the command ( the meaning) in 2-196.

                        Show me ?

I am explaining and then translating into English the command in verse 2-196 that was about the believers who were where the messenger Muhammed centuries ago so that people know that it is not about a stupid useless ritual as shaving head but a reasonable command as they were in a unsafe situation.

If you want to twist what i am saying so i will look like someone who encourage fight and the killing , , i advice you to choose another method , you already in your previous post you tried to make me look like a fool , i don't know what are you going to bring next , just to remind you about the last 3 strategy in this thread

                        1. fancy vocabulary
                        2. provocative vocabulary
                        3. Accusation method

All are included in what is known as logical fallacies , anyway if your are serious your questions and comments are very welcome even-though i was doubting about you, try to be more sincere in your research .

                          Dear,

I am just trying to make you realize that what you and few others think a stupid ritual, neither know what is function and purpose of removing hair from head, nor know ABC of Arabic to understand the words of Ayah, yet think themselves somewhat most logical and intelligent scholars.
When I hinted you why soldiers of all the armies of world are subject to hair removing, you called it irrelevant. This shows that you are bent upon sticking to idea that has floated in your mind and are not ready to listen anything else. This is the reason you are assigning different terms to whatever I pointed out to you.
Know the reason why hair cut is prescribed only in a congregation whether it is a congregation of Muslims at Hajj, or that of Hindus in their million peoples gathering for religious rituals? The same is primarily reason for haircut of soldiers who live in platoons.

Thanks. It causes itching of the scalp which is sometimes severe. Outbreaks of lice occur in gatherings. Special shampoos are needed to kill lice and nits . Simplest solution is removal of hair by men, and head scarf by women in public gatherings, it will protect oneself, and she will help protection for others if her hair are lice effected.

Lice infestation are most common in warm climates, and this is also the feature of city where people go for Hajj.

I don't know why simple things remain invisible to people in the injunctions in Qur'aan.

I don't know why simple things remain invisible to people in the injunctions in Qur'aan.

You are extraordinary lost men .

Witch shampoo you recommend for the ritual of shaving head in Al-haj ? , the Saudis are making a lot of money from this ritual and others , but if you can prove a shampoo brand name from the Quran or Narration about the prophet ( as this what will attract them more ) you will be serving them a lot , actually you are serving them about what you are posting in this thread .

Dear Mazhar Shaving head in Al-hajj is making fun of the system of Allah , the explanation and translation given to the command in 2-196 by old scholars is about distorting and twisting the words / the meaning from its usage and context 4-46 / 5-13 / 5-14 that's exactly what was the disbelievers among the people of the book used to do with scripture from Allah , its not about changing words by another words but its about twisting the meaning so its will point to a different useless misleading meaning.

the command of purifying and washing the body before approaching Al-Masjed is clearly stated in other verse 4-43 and 5-6 .

Tell me what is the connection between the concept of being safe and not fearing and shaving head (so there is no lice) ?

Do you think the prophet and the believers when he saw the vision in 48/27 , was really amazed and happy so he tell the believers that they will enter the Inviolable house shaving their heads , so they will be feeling safe and in security from contamination , because there will be no lice ?

48/27 Allah hath fulfilled the vision for His messenger in very truth. Ye shall indeed enter The Inviolable House , if Allah will, in safety , uncovering your head, (mean you will be taking off your war helmet sign of safety) , and shortening ( mean shortening Al-Salwah ) , not fearing. But He knoweth that which ye know not, and hath given you a near victory beforehand.

                                48/27

Now compare the meaning in the verse above with the meaning you are given to it in the verse below ; they were afraid from lice and nits and Allah sent the following

48/27 Allah hath fulfilled the vision for His messenger in very truth. Ye shall indeed enter The Inviolable House , if Allah will in safety , shaving your head (they mean take all hair completely ) , and shortening ( they mean cutting hair shortly ) , not fearing. But He knoweth that which ye know not, and hath given you a near victory beforehand.

What a good news !!, what a vision !! the messenger and believers where so happy as they will be no fear from hair insects infestation , and they will enter the Al-Masjed in safety as there will be no surprising attack from Lice and nits , what a battle ? maybe Lice and nits where among the disbelievers , who knows ?

I guess that is your vision for the verse ? , I am not making mockery on you but , the translation you are holding about these verses are about making mockery in the Quran .

yet think themselves somewhat most logical and intelligent scholars.

You said that i never said it , i am simply learning and sharing what i learned

Now kindly write the 2 verse upon your understanding , so we can get your complete vision , if you like

And you are directed to conclude the Hajj and Uemraa, for which ever you had come in reverence for Allah the Exalted.

                                  ?

Reading English gramar about prepositional phrases will suffice to clarify you how these are linked.

Thereat, subject to you having been blockaded-denied performing it, you are only required to deliver whatever sacrifice was readily available as accompanying garlanded mammals designated for slaughter.

First is the conditional clause, which will amend the first Imperative injunction. Instead of complete performance of Hajj and Umera, the only obligation is mentioned and that too if there were accompanying mammals designated for slaughter.
The Verb, regarding restrained-blockaded from performing Hajja and Umera for which they had come to Mecca, is Passive Form-IV. The doer is not mentioned in such verbs. Entry into City is obviously not allowed by the controllers of City--these days we cannot vist without valid visa.

Is there any scence of "war, battle" visible? Do you see an army in the world marching towards a city having with them garlanded mammals, simultaneously wearing helmets and armour on their body?

                                  Next line next time.

48-25 They are the ones who disbelieved and obstructed you from al-Masjid al-haram while the offering was prevented from reaching its destination . And if not for believing men and believing women whom you did not know - that you might trample them and there would befall you because of them dishonor without knowledge. that Allah might admit to His mercy whom He willed. If they had been apart , We would have punished those who disbelieved among them with painful punishment

This is about the same situation

That is for him whoso folk are not present at the Al-Masjed Al-Haram ( The Inviolable House) . Observe your duty to Allah, and know that Allah is severe in punishment.

                                    2/196

Is that not enough ? What's next ?

Are both were used in the context of war ? Preceeding ayah of 2 196 which is 2195 mentioned about spending moderately. Hajj means "overcoming the restriction of hunting wildlife by providing livestock supply" to the distribution centre (mahillah)*. Since you are going to spend on HAJJ (Livestock purchase), does it means that if you have limited financial means, get the cheap/lesser amount/smaller livestock - - rather than the expensive/bigger/many livestock ?

                                      • which one is correct ?
                                      1. and do not relieved your head from hair (go bald) until your hadiyy reach the livestock distribution center (mahillah)

                                      2. and do not relieved your head from the war helmet (war mode) , until your hadiyy reach the livestock distribution center (mahillah) especially during war

                                      • However there is a problem here. Since you are prevented/obstructed by war/thugs, how then hadiyy could reach the distribution center ? hmm (Any hadiyy will be confiscated by the thugs halfway).
                                      1. and do not relieved your head from the responsibility of assuring your hadiyy, reach the distribution center (mahillah) whether during war or during peace.
                                      • Means don't take this Hajj things for granted, this is always your responsibility during the hunting restriction months, to provide livestock to the distribution center, irrespective big or small, cheap or expensive hmm

                                      Does Muhalliqeen - means

                                      1. A group of bald people enter into Masjidil Haraam, because of no war take place ?*
                                      2. A group of people without war helmet (or without war gear/coats) enter into Masjidil Haraam, because of no war take place ?
                                      3. A group of head relieved people enter into Masjidil Haraam, because of no war take place ?

                                      Does Muqassireen - means

                                      1. A group of shortened hair people - does it means well dress, well cut ? Army usually cut hair short all the time.
                                      2. A group of simplified/concise/brief people (simple minded) - what does this mean ?
                                      3. A group of people who shortened their salawah or solat ? - if it means shortening prayer, it may contradict the context of 4827 and 4101 because no war no fear and no need to shortened prayer.
                                      4. A group of people...any suggestion ?
                                      • Mahillah may also known as Ka'abah as per 595

** Curent Sunni/Shafie Hajj "head shaving" performing sequence is not correct. No livestock supply were involved in Sunni Hajj ritual except dam or penalty. The shaving was done after they went out of the masjid while Prophet vision is that they already shaved/cut hair before entering masjid as implied in verse 4827 ?

                                      (http//tanzil.net/#4827)

Air tickets, travelling and accommodation cost to entertain Saudi monopoly is much-much expensive than the money that can be spent on livestocks supply annually to the unfortunate, to famine suffering country which don't have food supply, even during the halal months. The primary caused of Hajj, a livestock supply to overcome the hunting wildlife restriction, which is to preserve long term food supply for mankind have been wrongfully understood.

What happen to country or community who have no wildlife, no livestock, nothing to eat through out the year (shahral haram or shahral halal)

                                      Peace.

                                        Next line next time.

People arrive at the boundaries of a city. If it is a walled city, people are obstructed entry at its gates. If it is open city, people are restrained at outer checkposts. denotes causing somebody restricted-blockaded from doing what he intended to perform. It signifies permission not granted for entry into the city. There is nothing of war/battle scene in such situations.

We will see in next lines, that it is a temporary phase for a duration of time, and later they might be given permission for entry.

And you people should not remove hair of your heads for such time that the sacrificial mammal might reach the destined point-consumed-distributed.

It is an Imperfect Verb, second person; plural; masculine; Waw subject pronoun in nominative state; and its Mood is Jussive by Prohibitive Particle. This is telling them that "you should not do that act denoted by the verbal noun of this verb". Its Verbal Noun is -which signifies removal of hair and a state accruing after having removed the hair. This act is restricted by describing its object -a Possessive Phrase where first noun is in accusative case as direct object of Verb. This restricts the act of removal of hair on heads.

How long this should not be done?

The Mood of Verb is Subjunctive. And its Subject is in nominative case. denotes time estimate. The aforesaid act should not be done for such time duration so that the Garlanded Sacrificial male mammal might reach-cross over to "his appointed destiny"--place and purpose of sacrifice-given to poor.

It is normal in law that a provision is added for such situations where the desired act cannot be performed for certain reasons. These are called exemption clauses. There can be reason where one might not be able to wait for a duration, or complying doing the intended act. There may be a situation necessitating immediate hair cut or it might be irksome for some to get the shaving of hair.

However, for reason of someone being in sick state, or is itched-irritated by some part of his head cannot wait adhering to it, thereby for avoiding the stated course an absolver is due upon him of choice from fasting, or to gift something to needy, or do any good act.

This is an inverted nominal sentence where is the Subject of sentence and a prepositional phrase relates to the Predicate.

Subject to and when you have been afforded security-permission for entry,

This is the conditional clause. People who are restrained entry, can afterwards get the promise of security allowing entry.

thereat, if some one wished to avail the benefit of Uem'raa visit prolonging towards Hajj, he shall sacrifice what is conveniently available to him.

                                          2. and do not relieved your head from the war helmet (war mode) , until your hadiyy reach the livestock distribution center (mahillah) especially during war

                                          Peace.

                                          Salam Ashraf ,

I will come back to you inchallah about this.
