Questions on the preservation of the Quran
-
In The Name Of God,
Does not preservation of Quran imply protection from deleting, corrupting and adding verses, especially when the Quran itself claims to be a Book ? Wouldn't this also mean protection from the beginning of its revelation? Would The Almighty make a deliberate mistake in collecting His Wise Book only for it to be corrected some 1400 years later? If so, would this not be a flagrant contradiction? I am referring to those who claim the last two verses of Surat At-Tawbah to be false.

If you want to put those who advocate various 19-based numerology to the question, may I suggest you hunt them out in the subforum dedicated to that particular belief?
Those of us who prefer a more literal understanding of the Quran must read about what God actually promises He has protected, and avoid baseless speculations going beyond what the Quran clearly says. -
Peace.
Yes i used to believe that the 2 verses were false, but now, i do not, i believe in the Quran, and the WHOLE Quran... Some supports based this on HADITHS that cite of something being added into the Quran, and that the two ending verses of sura 9 was only found with one witness, while all of the other verses were found with 2+ witnesses...Yes there are differences between the Quran versions around, but none from my limited knowledge contain any deletion of verses.

Do explain , what does it mean?
Is God giving all three attributes to His prophet? " Aziz, Raoof and Rahim" in 9;128? Is this why the prophet is idolised by millions of Muslims?
Does not the Qoran teaches that only God is " Rahim" towards the people?
Think, why is the whole sura 9 up to 127 " Medina" but 128 and 129 are " Meccan" Verses?
It is odd that sura 9 will be the only exception out of the whole Qoran?
You do not need numbers or codes to be suspicious?
Peace.

Salaam good logic,
Do you want to correct The Quran with hadiths about Medina and Mecca &
Please refrain from this, that is better for you.

Peace Bender.
Please seek the truth. Do not follow " What the parents have followed".
When messengers came to them with the truth, they said" We found our parents on a guidance and we are following in their footsteps.
May the Lord guide all those that sincerely seek Him alone.
I Reverence my Lord Alone, I am accountable only to Him. I do not take notice of anyone else.
Peace.

Salaam good logic,
My parents follow (unknowingly) the hadiths besides The Quran.
Exactly the same hadiths as the ones you want me and others to follow.
I have stopped now for more then a year to follow what my parents are following, thanks anyway for the advice.Salaam,

I am asking you to follow hadith?
Does hadith say 9128- 129 are false?
This is news to me.
I shall disregard your untrue comment and I will say " Peace".

My english is bad, so maybe I misunderstood. This is what you said
Think, why is the whole sura 9 up to 127 " Medina" but 128 and 129 are " Meccan" Verses?
It is odd that sura 9 will be the only exception out of the whole Qoran?from where does the wisdom of Medina and Meccan verses come? Is it from AlQuraan or is it from some other book?
And yes, you didn't say in direct words to follow hadiths, sometimes I read things that are not there, I am sorry for that, my fault. But you can enlighten me and others what you meant with the your quote above. Can you give me a source where we can find where each verse is revealed please. I myself couldn't find it in The Quran but mabye I have missed something.
green salaam

Peace good logic.
Do explain , what does it mean?
A messenger has come to you from yourselves, troubled over your deviation, anxious over you, towards the believers he is compassionate, merciful.
Does not the Qoran teaches that only God is " Rahim" towards the people?
No. The god is "al-rahm". But all believers are "rahm" .
Mohammed is the messenger of the god, and those who are with him are severe against the rejecters, but merciful between themselves.
Some other examples where the god's attributes are used to describe other entities
the great reading as "karm" innahu laqur'nun karm
an animal as "3athm" wa fadaynhu bidhib7in 3athm
an old man as "kabr" wa abn shaykhun kabr
etc.Think, why is the whole sura 9 up to 127 " Medina" but 128 and 129 are " Meccan" Verses?
It is odd that sura 9 will be the only exception out of the whole Qoran?
You do not need numbers or codes to be suspicious?
Most of them only follow conjecture. While conjecture does not avail against the truth in anything. The god is aware of what they do.

Not all of the Attributes of God are used exclusively for God.
Raheem (Merciful) is not an exclusive attribut to God.... AL-Raheem (THE (Most) Merciful) is used exclusively for God in the QUran4820 believers are merciful towards themselves
1250, the word RABAK (your lord) is used to the Master of Joseph (head of houshold)....
9114 & 1187, the words haleem and Al-Haleem are used for Human beings! This word is also used as an attribute for God....
your argument is not strong.

Verily in the messenger of Allah ye have a good example for him who looketh unto Allah and the Last Day, and remembereth Allah much.
&
And lo! thou art of a tremendous nature. There hath come unto you a messenger, of yourselves, unto whom aught that ye are overburdened is grievous, full of concern for you, for the believers full of pity, merciful.
&
We know well how their talk grieveth thee, though in truth they deny not thee but evil-doers flout the revelations of Allah. The Prophet is closer to the believers than their selves, and his wives are their mothers. And the owners of kinship are closer one to another in the ordinance of Allah than the believers and the fugitives, except that ye should do kindness to your friends. This is written in the Book.
-
Peace Youssef.
Come on Youssef, three attributes in one verse? This goes against the message of Qoran" not to idolise humans". Go on, explain the verse in the context of verses before it in that same sura? Do you think it really belongs there?
This is even before we mention God s proof of preserving His last scripture.Peace.
-
It fits in perfectly. When a hadith contradicts the Quran, we refuse to accept it. So why is it when numerology contradicts the Quran, you throw out the verses? What was the Prophet's miracle a the time and for all times? Surely, it could not have been a number ! Rather, it was and still is the Speech of God.

56.77 That this is indeed a qur'an Most Honourable
56.78 In Book well-guarded,
56.79 Which none shall touch but those who are cleanIMHO, the BOOK is the whole thing, Torah to Quran, this is what is guarded BY ALLAH and not in the typed bits of paper that we have in the form of any book, this is with HIM and that is why it's guarded and that is why it's protected and that is why none shall touch but those who are clean. Nothing to do with washing before you touch Quran, nothing to do with whatever humans want to change in it or add to it, THE BOOK is with Allah and HE protects THAT.
-
And the Quran we have with us is left unprotected, unpreserved? Is this what you conclude?
I'm not saying it's not THE Quran, and it's only the printers agreeing on the 'actual' Arabic and I have no doubt at all that it is the word of God. But what we have is a printed book.
There is an old joke about when the monks would hand write the Bible many years ago and it was discovered years later that there had been a mistake and the word Celebrate had been mistakenly written as Celibate, so monks were not happy as they had been celibate.......
As Quran is printed by humans, just as it is translated not only in language but in meaning or opinion of the meaning then that 'idea' or that 'printed book' is no more protected than a bar of chocolate in my fridge, but the SOURCE document is still the same and always will be the same, and that is what is with God.

There are many instances in the Qur'an where it is spoken abou al kitab wal hikma. In one of them in fact it says that the Qur'an contains al kitab wal hikma, so
what is the relationship or difference or distinction, if there is one, between this "kitab" mentioned in 56.78 and all those "alkitab" given to the prophets?
Salaam

4.44 Hast thou not turned Thy vision to those who were given a portion of the Book? they traffic in error, and wish that ye should lose the right path.
10.37 This Qur'an is not such as can be produced by other than Allah; on the contrary it is a confirmation of (revelations) that went before it, and a fuller explanation of the Book - wherein there is no doubt - from the Lord of the worlds.
Moses was given The Book, Jesus was given The Book, Muhammed was given The Book but each are a portion of THE BOOK and each confirm each other. Quran is the final chapter in The Book.
