Day & Night Phenomenon described in the quran
-
Peace, FearGod.
Are you even reading through this thread? Have you opened the Quran at all? I told you exactly where it says this; I've posted it several times!
Say "Disbelieve ye verily in Him Who created the earth in two Days, and ascribe ye unto Him rivals? He is the Lord of the Worlds. He placed therein firm hills rising above it, and blessed it and measured therein its sustenance in four Days, alike for (all) who ask. Then turned He to the heaven when it was smoke, and said unto it and unto the earth Come both of you, willingly or loth. They said We come, obedient." (Q. 419-11)
In case you're not reading your Quran, it says that God created the Earth, placed hills upon it, blessed it, measured its sustenance, and THEN 'turned to the heaven when it was smoke'... I think you're finally starting to get the point, because even you realize how absurd a claim like this is! How could the heaven be "dukhan"/smoke while there was already sustenance (e.g. vegetation) on the Earth? That doesn't make any sense at all. I'm not trying to refute 'the truth'; I'm just pointing out scientific inconsistencies in the Quran...
Read the Quranic passage above, and tell me what you think about it.
Peace,
Ahmad
You're the one who need to study the quran because i have noticed your blatant ignorance
in understanding the quran and even to understand simple things. And He set therein firm mountains over it, and placed blessings in it, and determined in it its sustenance in four days; equal to all those who ask. (4110) By Muhammed Khan
He placed therein firm hills rising above it, and blessed it and measured therein its sustenance in four Days, alike for (all) who ask; (4110) By Pickthall
And He set therein firm mountains over it, and He blessed it, and He ordained therein its diverse sustenance in four days, equal to those who ask. (4110) By Arberry
And He made/put in it anchors/fixtures/mountains from above it, and He blessed in it, and He predestined/evaluated in it its provision in four days, straight/equal to the askers/questioners . (4110) By Mohamed Ahmed
He placed on it stabilizers (mountains), made it productive, and He calculated its provisions in four days, to satisfy the needs of all its inhabitants. (4110) By Khalifa
He placed firm stabilisers rising above its surface, blessed it with plenty and growth, and ingrained the means of growing its food within it, sufficient for all seekers, in four spans. (4110) By Ahmed Ali
He firmly fixed mountains on the earth, that rise high above its surface, and He blessed the earth. He made arrangements to supply the nourishment needs (for all life forms ever to exist on the earth) in four periods of time. Without exception, (He apportions food) to all who ask for it. (4110) By Munir Munshey
So did you understand from this verse that the earth had already Tomato, orange, banana & monkeys etc or it was planned and arranged to be so at the time of creation (formation of earth).

That was one of the most ridiculous explanations I've ever heard! Seriously...
The Quran is clearly saying that God measured, or prepared, the quantitative sustenance on the planet at this time; he didn't begin calculating how much is going to be there in the future. How could he, if you claim that God is omniscient (all-knowing)? Omniscience requires that he'd already know how much sustenance would be on the planet, as he'd also have a thorough knowledge of every plant and animal species, human name and birthdate, star distance and proportion, etc... Yet, you're telling me that God had to 'wait until the fourth day' before he was adequately able to calculate the amount of sustenance needed on the planet?!
The only way this concept would make sense, from the standpoint of an omniscient (all-knowing) god, is if the Quranic passage is referring to him measuring, or dealing out, the Earth's sustenance at this point. Claiming that he's doing some type of mathematical calculation, arranged for future premises, implies that he didn't currently know the correct answer and thus completely refutes the idea of him being omniscient.
So, which one is it? Was God putting (or distributing) sustenance on the Earth at this time, when the sky was apparently "dukhan"/smoke? Or is he NOT all-knowing, to the degree that he needed to prepare mathematical equations to determine how much vegetation he'd put on the planet?

Ahmad

The problem is that you don't understand logic.
So you believe that god is all knowing then by no time, everything have to be arranged and calculated because as you think that he is all knowing.
Sorry, but that what i call a rubbish thinking.
God is all knowing for all matters on our universe, but there is logic behind it and not magic.
For example every human being have 2 angels for recording his deeds and so god is all knowing about you by the records,no magic, but everything is well planned and designed.
NOW, VERILY, it is We who have created man, and We know what his innermost self whispers within him for We are closer to him than his neck-vein. (5016)
whenever the two demands come face to face, contending from the right and from the left, (5017)
not even a word can he utter but there is a watcher with him, ever-present. (501
But what i call a ridiculous thoughts for many muslims that god already knows who is going to hell before he/she is born, then why we need to be tested, why not goes directly to hell or paradise.
Why god created the angels before humans, why not created all at the same moment, why there is a time for the creation, why not to be done in a millisecond, isn't he all powerful.
That isn't a wise thinking.

Ok, I think we're starting to get somewhere now... So, you DON'T believe that Allah (God) is all-knowing and all-powerful? According to your viewpoint, there are things he doesn't know and can't do?
Please elaborate on this...

i will elaborate with pleasure.
Yes god is powerful and all knowing but by means of logic, let me explain it in just one example.
God wanted to make the cow to fly,he is powerful and all knowing.
Can the cow fly?the answer of course it can't fly.
But god as all knowing and all powerful can let it to fly but by means of logic and not magic.
it has to have a huge wings and a different body shape in order for the cow to fly.
i hope this example is enough for you to understand.
The problem that people due to ignorance thought that god is all knowing then he knows before the creation of earth
that for example Mr. Ahmed X will born in May 1, 1920 and he is going to hell. How funny is't -

What about so-called miracles found throughout the Bible and Quran? Did they actually happen, or are they mistranslations (or misunderstandings)? Does God intervene in human affairs, or does he 'stand back' (so to speak) and allow everything to happen on its own?

I don't get it... The idea of God bringing about "miraculous" happenings, in relation to causing individualized Islamic conversions or writing Arabic words on a Russian baby's legs, is senseless - especially when there are starving, suffering people all over the world! If God is capable of 'logically' causing miracles to happen, then why doesn't he help the people who need it? Wouldn't it be more reasonable if he used his 'limitless power' to benefit people, rather than to cause arbitrary occurrences?

So you don't realize what the purpose of our life on earth.
Our life on earth is very short and the purpose is to test each soul, all of us eventually
will be equal by death. No one will live forever.
God didn't send us on earth just to live, eat, enjoy sex,and make all of us rich and to guide
all of us to the right path.We have the free will and yes this life on earth can be hell for some and can be a paradise for others,
but that isn't the real life, because the real life is the afterlife.if you don't believe about the afterlife and you think that you are here by coincidence and that
you have to take the opportunity to enjoy yourself before death,
at this point then i can't help you any more -

You said that he's not 'actually' all-knowing; rather, he's 'logically' all-knowing, which doesn't make sense, because the concept of omniscience is illogical. But anyway, that would cause logical issues with your ideology, since there's no "test" needed if he knows everything already.
If all of us will be "equal" at death, then what's the purpose of living? And, more importantly, wouldn't it be more rational to make all of us equal right now? The only way to adequately test everyone equitably is to put all of them in the same position - which clearly isn't the case here on Earth! For example, if there are "righteous" poor people and "wicked" rich people throughout the planet, which is a concept that Jesus stressed continuously in the Bible, how do we know that their attitudes wouldn't be different had the roles been reversed? What if everyone was poor, or what if everyone was rich? Would that have a bearing on the degree of righteousness/wickedness being exemplified by the people who fit the identified dispositions? Does God know? If not, then how is he "God"?

You are proposing that all of us should be in the same position.
So all of us have to be businessmen and bosses or all of us to be kings or Doctors..etc.
Behold, how We prefer some of them over others! And surely the world to come is greater in ranks, greater in preferment. (1721)
Nay, but you prefer the present life; (8716)
and the world to come is better, and more enduring. (8717)such as prefer the present life over the world to come, and bar from Gods way, desiring to make it crooked -- they are in far error. (143)
Whoso desires the present life and its adornment, We will pay them in full for their works therein, and they shall not be defrauded there; (1115)
Every soul shall taste of death; and We try you with evil and good for a testing, then unto Us you shall be returned (2135)
Lo! We have placed all that is on the earth as an ornament thereof that We may try them which of them is best in conduct. (187)
Surely We will try you with something of fear and hunger, and diminution of goods and lives and fruits; yet give thou good tidings unto the patient (2155)
Do the people reckon that they will be left to say We believe, and will not be tried? (292)
who created death and life, that He might try you which of you is fairest in works; and He is the All-mighty, the All-forgiving -- (672)

Peace Ahmad,
Well, if it is a test we can clearly see that there is a huge amount of people who are not going to make it to the next world. God surely knows who are not going to make it, but He maybe wants to humiliate them for His own amusement perhaps? And that those who make it can finally laugh at those who first laughed at them.
Now that sounds pretty much like double standard, but sure feels nice at times.
God knows what you just wrote, of course. The situation you just mentioned is hardly possible with the prerequisites of the human race unless God would somehow intervene. There are not going to be a whole civilization with only rich people because it is not in the human race. And there are always going to be poor people because some people oppress others due to their evilness.
Being poor does not mean you are in higher favor with God. It is entirely based upon your actions and spiritual development. Being rich and giving plentifully to those in need is just as fine. Only the problem is that people tend to become greedy and exploiting when they become rich. It does not say a poor person who becomes rich must become a bad person, it entirely depends on his choices in life and personal development. What you read in scriptures are warnings.
Equal at death does mean we are judged equally no matter our possessions in this life. Someone's reputation on the wrong basis will not give him any bonus. If he was the president of the USA it will not benefit him at all. You will be judged based on your soul and being.
The part of God's show seem to be creating diversity, different starting points for each human. Some are born poor and some are born rich, and some are neither rich nor poor but in between. They are all mixed scenarios with a varying themes in each of them.
You are all equal to God no matter how little or much you own, you are not evaluated based on your belongings.
All these are, according to me, different tests we can either fail or pass. For a poor person it is to survive while remaining righteous and for a rich is to use the advantage to help others and also remain righteous in this case too.
Now of course you will wonder about all the famine and suffering in the world. Well, they are simply part of the test. You can surely use this to argue against the existence of God, but remember it can still be a test from God. Some people are tested through this kind of physical pain, weakness more than others.
I see this world as a chaotic game which God has started up and maintains. The causing factor of the chaos is the test subjects themselves, the human souls. Once you realize it is only but a game the life will become a lot easier because you have something to be certain about, but also a whole new realm of challenges emerge such as playing the game right. For example, by being 'good'. Or as I jokingly want to put it "Be on the Light Side of the Force".
It is certainly not a test in that regard for God, but it is a test for us, as God lets His MMORPG proceed according to His will. Talk about immense mercy and grace of God to create all this for us to get a good story between good and evil because we failed some initial test in the beginning and instead of outright being thrown in the Hell fire He creates a sandbox game instead in MMORPG style to run us through another time to give another show.
Well, who knows God's true intentions anyway. I am simply glad to be part of the show. You, brother Ahmad, are another player I say hello to in the game. And it does not really matter to me if you believe in God or not. It is your win or loss depending on what was the Truth. I decided to believe that the world could not exist simply on its own volition, the complex system we live in and all things in the galaxies to just be there out of its own.
I have observed you for quite a while and I once more ask you what you do here, brother Ahmad Bilal. Is it for your own amusement or due to the feeling you want to aid people out of the God delusion? Do you think we live miserable lives due to our belief?
No, that is for those who do not believe in God or are weak in Faith.
So tell me, what is your intention, if you could be honest? Because I am not so stupid that I cannot see that you are here other than to argue whether there is a God or not, and your opinion seems to be quite certain that there are no deities based on your utterances. And you try to simply prove people wrong, which is a typical human traits for whatever purpose that fulfills. Self-gratification?
Whatever honest reason I will accept, because I dislike not being certain about something. If there is an answer you seek I will gladly try to solve your mystery once and for all that you may find a better hobby. Should you wish to remain here then, well that is up to you and I cannot prevent you. I think only about your time, and me and other's peace.
Are you here to feel good by criticizing people's seemingly more or less illogical, irrational explanations on such an abstract topic as God, proving them wrong when there really is no right or wrong? "Everything is possible, nothing is impossible", if you believe in God. So your logic has no meaning in this world should God wish it.
Laws of physics are there because someone or something created them. It is that simple, to us.
No complex DNA-strings were created by evolution alone. How can a few cells know how to create an evolved being?
Pieces of rock in the universe, they were hardly forming planets and with substances coincidentally placed there to make things work. How do you explain that atoms form molecules and become a mass of something? There are more questions here by believing in natural selection than in a divinely controlled evolution. Where is the logic in that?
Should you still have arguments after this lengthy post I am surely surprised. But you seem to look everywhere for a tiny imperfection, so at a second thought, yes, you are going to argue back. Your wordings of logic or rationality will not work here though, because these thoughts are in another dimension where your science have no power.
You don't know the power... of God.
Anyway, I wish you peace and prosperity and I have no quarrel with you, good brother Ahmad. Hope you will be fine wherever you end up after your death. Seriously, I wish you the best.
God bless you

Peace, FearGod.
You are proposing that all of us should be in the same position.
So all of us have to be businessmen and bosses or all of us to be kings or Doctors..etc.
I'm not insinuating that all of us should have the same profession; that's not what 'equality' is about. I'm merely saying that we could all reasonably be in the same position, held in the same political, social and economical position. That's clearly not the case in the world. A clear example of this? Slavery! Has God ordained for some people to be slaves and others to be masters? What kind of statute and standard for equality is that?!
The Bible, which the Quran claims to support and authenticate, clearly endorses slavery, especially in the Jewish Torah. Are you saying that, in order to be acceptable to God, I should strive to be the 'best slave I can be'?
I think slavery is a good example of the extreme inequality in the world today, and the Quranic passages you posted appear to allude to the unreasonable concept of domestic inequality too.
Behold, how We prefer some of them over others! And surely the world to come is greater in ranks, greater in preferment. (1721)

Does God prefer the masters to the slaves? Is that why they're "higher in rank"?
It's easy to imagine the 'world-to-come' and how wonderful it will be... But, as a slave, I can't see that right now; all I see at this point is the cruelty of my master. Why is God willing to put me through that type of suffering, while hoping for a 'world-to-come', when there's not even proof of a future life at all? You're saying that I should merely endure the suffering and 'hope for the best'?
Tests are designed to teach lessons. So, when someone is killed by 'evil', what lesson are they learning? How can they benefit from being killed by a murderer, or by being raped by a perpetrator, or by dying of cancer?
What do you think?

Ahmad

Peace, Man of Faith.
I won't address most of what you said, due to it being overly subjective and entirely based on your personal beliefs and convictions - NOT FACTS! I will say something concerning a few of your absurd assertions, though.
So, people who DON'T believe in God, or are "weak in faith", are delusional and live miserable lives? That claim is absolutely ridiculous, and there's nothing to support this outrageous claim at all. If anything, the opposite is true - 'believers' are actually the "miserable" ones, constantly feeling unworthy (suffering from low self-esteem) and indebted to whatever god they choose to embrace. They feel the need to kneel down and 'beg' their god for forgiveness of their errors and mistakes, even though he, being omnipotent, is the one who "willed" for you to commit the sin in the first place. They constantly assert that they "love" God, even though they've never met him, nor have they seen any verifiable evidence for his existence at all. They thank God for putting food on their tables, even though they're the ones who work to make money and shop to buy sustenance for themselves, etc.
If you think nonbelievers are living miserable lives, then you need to look up the word "misery"...
So tell me, what is your intention, if you could be honest? Because I am not so stupid that I cannot see that you are here other than to argue whether there is a God or not, and your opinion seems to be quite certain that there are no deities based on your utterances. "Everything is possible, nothing is impossible", if you believe in God. So your logic has no meaning in this world should God wish it.
Ummmm, okay... If "everything is possible" and "nothing is impossible", then ask God to eliminate evil from the world. That shouldn't be a difficult thing for him, right? In fact, ask God to miraculously heal someone who has an amputated limb. Surely, if he shaped the human body, then this should be pretty simple. Who needs doctors? If you get sick or injured, don't go to the hospital; just pray about it, and everything will be fine. Let me know how that turns out for you.
Laws of physics are there because someone or something created them. It is that simple, to us.

You need to study physics and evolutionary biology, brother. It's clear that you haven't done so, and I think doing so would probably be very beneficial for you... I would recommend some books for you, but you probably won't read them anyway; you believe that the Quran has all the answers. So, if that's your estimation, then more power to you. To me, though, that's unacceptable.
Peace,
Ahmad

So if i want to eat in mcdonalds, then the boss of the restaurant chains should serve me,otherwise a less person in position the waiter in our case has to serve me.
So you want a world with all to be in the same position and not necessarily the same profession and that is impossible and can only be possible for the mind of stupid ones but god is all wise, all knowing.
The world of today is slaves for their desires and mainly for money.
Men panting after naked women like a panting dogs and some others may kill for money.
Just try to put an advertisement in one newspaper saying,a slave wanted for one month recruitment with advance payment of one million dollars.
Tell me how many person in this world will accept this offer ?some may found the one million isn't attractive, but may found one milliard to be enough,so eventually we are slaves for money.
Wars can be initiated because of money, the god of this mundane life.
Moreover you are blaming god that we don't have equal social, economic and political position in this world as if god ordered us to make borders,no you are absolutely wrong and so ignorant about what is Islam which is supposed to be for one ummah,no borders and one unbiased and rightful khalifa for one world and that actually will happen in the time of Jesus PBUH as the lord of our world in the end times which of course you don't believe in and trying hard for others to have your path of darkness.
Peace,
Ahmad
Islam is to submit and surender yourself to the willing of god,but you are so far from this concept by saying why god won't treat cancer, why not treating AIDS,why not treating.....,why not make all of us rich..etc.
What about a rich and his son is dying by a cancer, what about a poor and his son is healthy.
You're attitude is a rebillion which is exactly against Islam .
Say "If any men go astray, (Allah) Most Gracious extends (the rope) to them, until, when they see the warning of Allah (being fulfilled) - either in punishment or in (the approach of) the Hour,- they will at length realise who is worst in position, and (who) weakest in forces! (1975)

"God when mentions (Day) he means the lands that shows the Day and when mentioning the night then he means the lands which shows the night and you can realize that by understanding all other verses which show clearly that god is pointing to the lands which have night or day.
"This seems to be extra from you . . . else that is NOT what night to day means . . . that just means the night becomes day.
"you can realize that by understanding all other verses which show clearly that god is pointing to the lands which have night or day."
And what verses are those . . ? your final point is somewhat unclear. Maybe you should explain in more detail.

The quran describes the night in one verse to enter into the day and in other verse to roll the night around the day
Thou makest the night to enter into the day and Thou makest the day to enter into the night (327)
He rolleth the night around the day, and rolleth the day around the night (395)We know that night (darkness) doesn't move or roll but we can realize and understand that the day(light) moves due to the sun,but to describe that the darkness (night) to move is irrational then it is very clear that what is meant is the lands which moves from darkness to light and from light to darkness.
Also other verses desrcibing the same thing
The day as it reveals the sun rays (913) so the land that reveals the sun rays showing the day
and the night as it veils sun rays (914) so the land that veils sun rays showing the nightHope that is clear and understood to you and please look to the figures that explain it.

It is not very helpful to use language like "Thou" - it is archaic English - why not use Standard English?
"We know that night (darkness) doesn't move or roll but we can realize and understand that the day(light) moves due to the sun,
It seems you have misunderstood the verses - all the verses are saying is night and day follow each other in time and this pattern in repeated. It is not saying - the darkness moves!
but to describe that the darkness (night) to move is irrational then it is very clear that what is meant is the lands which moves from darkness to light and from light to darkness."
It isn't very clear that it means what you say . . in fact you are the only person I have come across that states this!
What is clear to me - is that night and change into each other . . . and that is it. As to the the effect on the land . . . then consider this - it is for that land that this patter occurs . . .
So - it is not the land that is meant - but the phenomena itself.
913 is different . . .
And the day when it displays it
Here all it says is - that the "day displays the sun"
That's it.
I think your understanding is not correct . . . can I ask . . . how much Arabic do you understand?

May i ask you a question which will may helps you to understand.
day displays the sun
The question is
Can it be a day without a land ? if there is no land, then there is no day.
So still we are talking about the land. The verses are very clear to me even in Arabic better than in English and i have discussed those verses with my cousin who is
professor in Islamic religion and he agreed with me too.i don't know why you can't get it,it is so simple and easy to understand.
