:: Sajda is not prostration ::

Thank you for the link... Yes I agree with him (waqas) ... Sujud is not physical in Quran.. It may be in Arabic culture or even in Arabic word.. But not in Quran... It may look so as physical but it is not.. Deep study would get it..
Sujud in clear Arabic means humbling. I go with that. Kinda connects to the idea of being whole (muslim).

nope
The Monotheist Group (The Quran A Monotheist Translation)
4102 "And if you are with them and you hold the contact prayer for them, then let a group from among them stand with you and let them bring their weapons; and when they have prostrated then let them be behind you;"The Monotheist Group (The Quran A Monotheist Translation)
8421 "And when the Qur'an is read (past tense) over them, they do not prostrate."Muhammad Asad (The Message Of Quran)
2125 "AND LO! We made the Temple a goal to which people might repair again and again, and a sanctuary102 take then, the place whereon Abraham once stood as your place of prayer."And thus did We command Abraham and Ishmael "Purify My Temple for those who will walk around it, and those who will abide near it in meditation, and those who will bow down and prostrate themselves ."etc.
All those clear signs demonstrate that prostration is ALSO PHYSICAL.
No need bro to study deeply when signs are so clear.
Peace. It is a subject only deep reflecting on all sujud ruku and all relevant subwords to come to conclusion... It seems you have not yet.. But glad some people have grasped it thoroughly... BTW never say No need to study thoroughly pr deeply.. That may be the reason that you didn't get..
But note brother Iyyaka.. If you or anyone who is performing physical prostration I never object.. But I never recommend even... Keep doing but as all believers are be genuine in faith of God and His fear... With real submission to God whatever the posture one take respect God it is individual's choice.. Don't say it is mandatory that one should physically prostrate in prayer or in any other relationship with God.. For that no one can bring evidence..

In front of your eyes bro..Not from my perverse mind but just some ayats...I have nothing to add. This 3 Quranic signs are at least CRYSTAL clear (again - below)
Only those with twisted minds can deny the physical aspect of Salat in the Qur'an.
Of course "sujud" it is ALSO a mind attitude. Mind and body are involved in prayer. Why do you amputate a part ? Quran alone ? really ?
then of course you do what you want. I'm just exposing the Quran...--The Monotheist Group (The Quran A Monotheist Translation)

you see them bowing and prostrating, seeking bounty from God and pleasure. Their mark is on their faces from the trace of prostration. That is their description in the Torah.Exodus 348, Torah

And when all the Children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the Lord upon the House, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement and prostrated, and praised the Lord, , "For good; for His mercy forever.", Torah

You claim that Sujud means Physical ALSO at the same time you agree sujud means nonphysical as well... But for me In Quran it is only Non Physical..
Yes brother Salat is of course physical + words + mind with full of submission and humility.. Coz we Praise the Lord in it , we read the book in it.. Hard to explain you... you need connection with God on your own to grasp it... Coz it is twisted for sure..
well brother you can't expose the quran ... never ... Quran is full of guidance and God will guide people with it.. That's how quran is exposed... You are bringing few verses in alternative language doesn't mean you are exposing the Quran.. it is just your speculation.. Even you bring the arabic genuine Quran verses, you can't expose Quran coz we all read Quran... Message of God is already delivered, seek the guidance...
Thank you for the verses... btw don't think i have not read all the verses of Sujud... For you to say Sujud is ALSO physical it sounds that sujud is ALSO non physical... that's the tone .. right.. bring those verses that you feel that they are non Physical for everyone's clarifications.. Or in In Quran all verses of Sujud = Physical Prostration? But Sujud means physical prostration plus non physical.. is that what you understand?
Anyhow thank you... Let God guide us and expose his book.. -

Translation don't work out for me.. Even if it is physical unless i know depth those original languages i am not here to mention a word on them..
btw... the only quranic verse you brought.. Yes the verse is clear that it is non physical with the application of sense with related words in the verse.. but for you, it is physical... that's the difference... nothing glaring.. difference is your understanding and my understanding not tally.. Just coz of your understanding it cannot become physical...
For everyone... Remember that in the verse 4829 it never stated that Torah and Injeel explained about Mohamed and his companions... Torah and Injeel came well before Quran.... it is not mentioning about Mohamed's and his companions behavior within themselves..it is an example...
Very similar what Moses/other prophets and his/their companions were and Isa and his companions were ... First get that right...When it is said "This is THEIR DESCRIPTION in Torah" or "And THEIR DESCRIPTION in Injeel" one should definitely reflect.. Coz Torah and Injeel are from God.. not THEIR description... So here clearly THEIR means Musa and Rest of Prophets who held the Torah and their Companions and same Isa and his companions... They all were similar to what Mohamed and his companions...

Peace Jkhan,
Thank you for the verses... btw don't think i have not read all the verses of Sujud...
Far from it bro.
I just reacted (with the Quran as evidence) to your point about sujud not being physical in the whole Quran.
That is all.
@Amra94 she gives you another great proof (but you don't accept..That's it).For you to say Sujud is ALSO physical it sounds that sujud is (1) ALSO non physical... that's the tone .. right.. (2) bring those verses that you feel that they are non Physical for everyone's clarifications.. Or in In Quran all verses of Sujud = Physical Prostration? But Sujud means physical prostration plus non physical.. is that what you understand?
(1) Yes both meanings.

I just reacted (with the Quran as evidence) to your point about sujud not being physical in the whole Quran.
That is all.Your reaction is your personal understanding of the verses of Sujud blended with Dictionary meaning which definitely say Sujud = Physical prostration as well... It is not evidence.. You are making it physical since you prefer it to be physical.. It is not evidence brother.. It is same like for example.. Ummi means Gentile (one who never read any scripture or belongs to monotheist Group) but in dictionary and in Arabic it is Illiterate perhaps... Perhaps it is illiterate for sure according to arabic... but not in quran...
So you have not brought evidence but your personal understanding which think is right, but it is not right for all even though you are convinced... Always keep space in heart while reading Quran... Don't put fullstop for anything..@Amra94 she gives you another great proof (but you don't accept..That's it).
(She didn't give any proof for me... Did she.. She brought a verse which i have read many times.. Even She brings all the Sujud verses it is not proof for me, coz her understanding of Sujud not in line with mine.. Coz for her physical seems right... how can that be a proof for another? What logic is that brother? is it like Do i deny a miracle which no man can perform and still call i don't believe it.. No.. she just copy paste a quran verse.. with what basis you say she brought proof? May be she didn't even mean like that... if she say so, you will grasp it..
Peace Jkhan,

Therefore, the root of this word (S-J-D) must be kept in mind to determine whether it means a physical bowing or a figurative bowing which is to express obedience/humbly etc..Here you have brought loads of examples for physical prostration outside Quran... Needless coz I know Sujud is physical Prostration in Arabic language and it is the number one priority... but not in quran..
regarding 1649, you have not mentioned whether you call it as physical or figurative as per you...
all above examples of dictionary meaning for physical prostration, it is only physical prostration.. i mean to say take one meaning at a time for one word..
Sujud = Physical Prostration
Sujud = (Physical Prostration + humility and submissive nature)
see the difference... Camel bent the neck (sujud) and it doesn't include humility or submissiveness but just did the sujud... take one meaning for one word at a time since SUJUD means not only physical but it has other meanings express obedience/humbly...I hope you get what i say.. You apply all the meaning of sujud in one shot.. while whatever you want to be only physical you take as one meaning... wow... for example Date palms especially one which bends under the weight of its fruit (Sujud)... literally one meaning sujud physical and nothing else.. When it comes to Prostration to God you give rest of the meaning also to one word... that's a flaw of logic..perhaps you get it..
-
Peace
Siin-Jiim-Dal = lowly, humble, submissive, worship, adore, prostrate, make obeisance, lower/bend oneself down towards the ground, lower the head, to salute/honour/magnify, to pay respect, to stand up, to look continuedly and tranquily.
MSJD - parts of a man that are the places of SJD, e.g. forehead/nose/hands/knees/feet etc. Any mode/place/practice in which the act of SJD is done.Apparently both physical and nonphysical depending on the context.
Also have a look at this website. http//mypercept.co.uk/articles/meaning-of-SuJuD-from-Quran.html
peace
I am addressing all here..
See, these are the meanings of the word sujud according to brother Hawk.. Perhaps dictionary meaning, practical meaning in arabic culture.. whatever..
But don't try to apply all the meaning of sujud for one matter.. .. Here even brother Hawk is also saying "Apparently both physical and nonphysical depending on the context." ... if depending on the context, then choose only one meaning ... for example PHYSICALLY PROSTRATED.. nothing Else... SUBMITTED WITH HUMILITY nothing else.. don't combine both together in one verse coz it is only with curiosity not in reality of the word..
Don't blend every meaning out of context in to ONE...
Thanx

regarding 1649, you have not mentioned whether you call it as physical or figurative as per you...
Sorry bro i believed i was clear.
The Monotheist Group (The Quran A Monotheist Translation)
--1649 "And to God prostrate all those in the heavens and all those on the earth, from the creatures and the angels, and they are not arrogant."In this context, it has used the words “ سجده ” (sajdah) to mean obedience and acceptance and is not referring to the act of physical bowing.
I hope you get what i say..
No sorry bro ! handshake
My understanding of verse proves the contrary i think.
It just depends on CONTEXTYour reaction is your personal understanding of the verses of Sujud blended with Dictionary meaning which definitely say Sujud = Physical prostration as well...
Don't put fullstop for anything..Dictionnary give you many meanings which derivate from the root system
Then, the right meaning depends on the CONTEXT again (textual and/or historical contexts). -
The Monotheist Group (The Quran A Monotheist Translation)
--1649 "And to God prostrate all those in the heavens and all those on the earth, from the creatures and the angels, and they are not arrogant."In this context, it has used the words “ سجده ” (sajdah) to mean obedience and acceptance and is not referring to the act of physical bowing.
Well... There you are.. You came to the right spot..
Your statement is in black and white... So this is one of those verses that you don't take Sujud as physical prostration saying depending on the context... Fine.. Have you read the verse reflected what it says.. Perhaps Yes.. but what you have accepted directly means that those who are in the heavens and earth NONPHYSICALLY SUJUD? It is absolutely possible for everyone to NONPHYSICALLY SUJUD... And God does accepts it... 1649 ..lets just assume that those in heaven means for example malaika.. So they NONPHYSICALLY sujud... It means what obedience and acceptance. as per you.. So we on earth humans can also do obedience and acceptance of God (sujud)So why one compel now to sujud (mere physical prostration).. Coz physical prostration is not equal to obedience and acceptance. .. One thing you should get right is sujud (physical prostration) is not by the word itself not meant done with obedience and acceptance. That's wrong. I can sujud to my boss to win his heart. In it obedience and acceptance is not included.. And the word sujud itself doesn't have it when taken one meaning at a time.. That's what you all failed to grasp...
Now tell me what sujud did Malika perform? Physical sujud without any obedience and acceptance or non physical sujud with obedience and acceptance to God..?
They can't do both... Coz Sujud has only one meaning with context....In context pls don't apply both coz that sujud doesn't have such a meaning...
Okay.. Note in verse 1649 even without physical prostration but with more obedience and acceptance to God "They are not arrogant " -
4103 And when you have completed the prayer, remember God standing, sitting, or on your sides. But when you become secure, re-establish prayer. Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times
What does it mean to re establish regular prayer when you are secure?
God sees you while you pray so how do you guys present yourselves when praying? It's obvious putting your face on the ground is the most humble way physically. Plus God calls Himself the King, and if you saw God you would fall down before Him.

Thank you..
Yes it can be both depending on Arabic culture.. I meant the word sujud.. But does Allah want us to physically Sujud? That's the key?
I guess you can say it depends on the Arab culture of that time, as it was revealed to them and based on their lisaan.
Sujud is the plural of the word saajid, not sajdah.
SaJaDa can be both literal and metaphorical reliant on the context. Even the tafseer books have mentioned this semantic change in their analysis of the Quranic words.

Peace brother..
God is is the one you should ask to help you out.. He is the one who exposes quran His book...
If what you feel by the above verse is identical to what is in the picture then it is your choice... But for me never.. This position on the floor is not what God expects from His believers...Let me tell about the verse which you take as physical prostration...
Brother... Azqhan is never ever FACE within Quran .. But it is CHIN.. 368 is more than evidence to conclude within Quran Adqhan =Chin...
So literally there is no physical sujud touching chin to the ground.. Not even conventionally.. So the option is beyond possibility..And the other word khā rā rā is in Arabic definitely has the meaning of fall but it has the meaning of emotional collapse etc etc..
Since in the verse Adhaqn is not face kharra cannot be taken as falling to the ground.. In this verse definitely it is an idiom well known to the audience who speak Arabic then..
Well.. In this verse.
Say, "Believe in it or do not believe. Indeed, those who were given knowledge before it - when it(Quran) is recited to them, they emotionally collapse upon their chins in submission ..Find out even in every major language what is the meaning of falling on to the chin meaning..
2573 And those who, when reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not FALL (kharra) upon them deaf and blind.
Above verse is ideal example that word kharra in Quran is not always fall down. But figurative.. Even 1990
So the verse 17107 is figurative.. Not actual fall to the ground since adqhan is not face as well..1958 " When the verses of the Most Merciful were recited to them, they fell (Kharra) in submission and weeping.
These are emotional stuff.. They listen to verses of Quran and knowing that this is from God and it is the truth they immediately collapse / fall in obedience /submission thus accepting and they weep.. Coz truth of God is recited.. They realized.. They can't resist..
That's fall in sujud OR fall in ruku..It is hard to grasp unless God guides.. I found it hard and not anymore..
-

Your question is totally irrelevant to the topic...
Anyway look at the verse you have brought...
4103... These are three posture of human being Standing Sitting lying on the sides.. God says to remember Him in any of the positions.. WHEN? after salat... Note well conventionally Salat enda in sitting position... Best way to put the wording on this verse since it is after Salat is.. Remember Allah sitting, lying on the sides or standing.. Coz soon after finishing salt in sitting position asking to remember God again in standing position is weird..
Coz salat is in standing position...
These three are bodily positions ..but God didn't say remember him in Sujud position or Ruku position.. I know you have different view.. But let the people who reflect, reflect upon it.. I'm sure one would think of verse they stand and sujud. Buy they stand and submit.. God bless and guide the believers -

Anyway I don't really care that much so I won't clarify my relevant question. -

In the verse 1649 which Iyyaka brought he referred that Sujud here means Not Physical, I have few more questions or rather concerns generally to all who accepts like Iyyaka ...
So those in earth and heavens SKIPPED physical prostration but still did/doing SUJUD.. why? Why they did skip physical prostration (Sujud) and still did sujud (submission) and still they were not arrogant..?
Is it context of the verse you say it is non physical or there is no other option other than accepting it non physical?
So one thing me and you or even everyone can conclude is, that NONPHYSICAL sujud(submission) is possible by every creature that God has created and they are doing it and they are not arrogant .. Arrogant are those who deny the submission (sujud) to God.. . Submission = accepting God's authority order without denying thus surrendering ..So verse1649 is clear.. Everything can do nonphysical sujud only and everything cannot do physical sujud practically which is not in line with the word's meaning..
But every creature dogs cats fish trees mountain stars ant water all are doing non physical sujud and they are not arrogant.. It means they accept God's order command live accordingly.. Real submission willingly...Note everyone.. UNWILLINGLY SURRENDER AND SUBMISSION ... 383 an 1315 if anyone has any clue what Aslam unwillingly and Sujud unwillingly pls bring your comments, I also would like to discuss on that... Coz it seems while most on earth and heavens willingly aslam(surrender) and Sujud (submit) while another group somehow UNWILLINGLY aslam and sujud.. That's a point to reflect upon.

I am wondering is this valid for all believers or all those who accepted the Quran? Who will dispute or go against the Quran and end up as in a schism far?
Will truly guided people / believers choose to be in schism by going against the Book? Not understanding the book and disputing or going against the Book is two different matters... God knows best who is dispute in the book regarding Sujud?
