You failed to provide any Quranic evidence of 'pbuh' be used in regard to a person called Muhammad.

    Dear Maha,

"pbuh" stands for "peace be upon him" is the English translation for the Arabic transliteration of "salaamun 'alayh", and when 37181 says, "And peace be upon all the messenger", and if we believe that Muhammad was one of the GOD's messengers (3144, 3340, 472, and 4829), then common sense dictates that we should use "pbuh" for Muhammad too.

I'm not sure if the above very simple logic can convince you that Muhammad was a person.

    Peace,
    Khalil

      Peace be with you.

I have been wanting to read a biography on Muhammad for quite some time now, but I'm unsure of where to go. I know of one biography called 'Muhammad A Prophet for our Time' but I don't know how trustworthy it is. Does anyone here have any recommendations?

      Peace Ted1205,

Just curious, but "why" do you want to read a biography about Muhammad
when the Quran tells us who exactly who he was, or is it for the purpose of fact finding
or simply casual reading. As you may be aware historical figures are sometimes
only approximated by secondhand sources (his-story).

ONE GOD is all we need

      peace

Well I understand your argument, brother and that could be one interpretation. But personally when I look at your above quoted verses

37 181 And peace be upon the messengers.
37182 And praise be to God, Lord of the worlds.

I fail to see where the verse ask ME to say 'pbuh' (peace be upon him) whenever I say a messengers name.

        Peace

You are quite right. I do not think that we are obligated to say "pbuh" every time we here the prophet's name. I believe if we want to be respectful towards the messengers of GOD, swt, we must treat them all just the same, and make no differentiation between any one of them.

          Peace,

              Dear Maha
As a historian you should agree that there are quiet a few very early non muslim references about Mohammed. What would you make of those writings?
              Peace

                Peace brother.

I fail to see your point. Please make yourself more clear.

                Peace

Peace sister, you did ask this -- correct?

I dont see any proof in the above quoted verses of yours, that muhammad was the person who came with the quran.

                Therefore by simple cross-reference...

472 and the ones believe they and do they the righteous works and believe they in what descended on Muhammad and it the truth from lord theirs kfr/rids from them evil deeds theirs and correct condition theirs

297 say who he is enemy they to Gabriel so indeed he descended it on heart yours by permission the god confirming of to what between hands his (i.e. directly from) and guidance and glad tidings for the believers

2185 shr/cycle ramadan the one that descended in it the Qur?an guidance to the humankind and clear signs from the guidance and the criterion so from affirm/witness (i.e. present and stationary not journeying) from among you al-shr/the cycle so to fast it and from he is illness of or on journey so count from days another intends the god with you the ease and not intends with you the hardship and to complete yeh the count and to magnify yeh the god over what he guided you and that may you thanks giving

31 alif lam meem 32 the god not deity except he the living the sustainer of all 33 descended to you the book in the truth confirming of to what between hands his and that descended the taurat and the injeel 34 from before guidance to al-nas/the humankind and that descended the criterion indeed the ones disbelieve/reject they in signs the god for them punishment severe and the god mighty owner reprisal

The above verses are very clear.

                Peace

Yes, no one force you to say "pbuh" after you mention any Prophet. but its not prohibited too right?
its like, no one force me to do good to my neighbours, but again, is it something shameful to do good to my neighbours? of course not!

we are all Quranist Muslims, we follow and worship ONE GOD alone, but it doesn't mean we have to DISRESPECT whoever we think as a mere mortal, perhaps, those mere mortals (Prohpets, shahabah, and whoever we criticize) were much more Muslim than us.

and again, don't because i mention shahabah then you think im a sunni. No, i read the Quran and nothing inside it tells me to hate ENTIRE shahabah (Prophets Companions)

btw, sorry for intervening you discussion (or more likely a debate), just giving my 2 cents

                    Peace Everyone,

In my experience, those who say p.b.u.h. say it for Muhammad and not for Jonah,
                    or ezekiel, making distinction.

As for those who believe in GOD and His messengers, and make no distinction
among them, He will grant them their recompense. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful.

                    God Bless

                    peace

                        Peace Andantino,

Yes, Jonah is yunus (Sura 10, Jonah (Younus)
and Zal-Kifl by many is believed to be Ezekiel

Also, Ismail, Idr?s, Zal-Kifl; all were steadfast, patient.

Remember Ismail, Elisha, and Zal-Kifl; among the most righteous.

Nevertheless the point being, many who mention the names of some messengers
will not say P.B.U.H after mentioning such names, making distinction. Just my
                        experience.

                        God is all-knowing

                        peace
