Questions about Al Quran
-
We are only to be held accountable to what we have possession of and what has been handed down to us. We are not responsible for more than that. As the Quran says about the previous scriptures being what the Jews have possession of or what is in their hands and said the same about the gospel.
Often Sunnis will try to trap Quranist by asking them how do you know the Quran is complete and it is authentic without hadiths etc. But in the end we are not historians to answer that. God will only judge us by what we have possession of and how we respond to that. Faith is an internal issue rather than an external issue.
Peace Bigmo.
Your argument is good but also I will give little corrections for some point of yours. You say if we even don't need another narration (hadiths) to proof Quranic's history. Then how if a non Muslim ask you about historical background of our religion? Can we give proof to them with validate sources?
Yes,Quran alone follower reject hadiths but its better we dont reject hadith fully, I mean even hadith is very risk for used as source of fiqh because already distorted because only transmitted by oral transmission for hundret years , but we can still use them as historical resources.
Yes if we trash hadith fully then how we know about Nabi Muhammad's background and his sahabat.Beside that we can also get some information about the sahabat's cultures like what they eat, what tools they used to eat etc.
Historical literatures must not 100% perfect like a Scripture, because it's normal if a historical books contain some contraries and distortion.I still remember a quote from Indonesian First President, Sukarno. He says "Jasmerah" (Jangan sekali-kali meninggalkan sejarah)
English"do not ever leave history".It's important because history is an identity. But what I agree from you is "History is not very important for our faith to Allah"
So thats why the Quran only quoted a history partly not fully like in the Bible which telling stories of all Nabis and Bani Israel more clearly than the Quran.
Why? History is not important so Quran just pick little part of stories in purpose we can get hikmah and religious advices from them. -
Is history and hadith the same?
Peace hawk99.Of course not
I'm not say if hadith and history is same, but without hadith and Sira' how we know the historical background of Islam?
Hadith is collection of Prophet's saying, but their meaning already distorted for hundred years because only transmitted by oral transmission and hadith collector's methodologies for collecting hadith is not good.So thats why I reject hadith for sources of fiqh or syaria laws.
But it's a faulty if we trash hadith fully, because if you read one book of hadith, you will get some important historical tracks of Muhammad and his Sahabat.Example from verse 692
Red word is "Umul Qura".Then withouth some historical sources then how we understand the word "Umul Qura"?

Peace,
The hadith gives some alleged history revolving Muhammad, but how can we believe that even 1% of it to be true? From reading hadith I have seen there is a lot of nonsense and then 'lot' is not an understatement. Hadith is poorly recorded historical facts, it is not reliable enough for evidential purposes.
Of course, it would have been more trustworthy if history about Muhammad had been recorded in the time of his life, but so was not the case, and I believe it was forbidden to write down anything from Muhammad but the Quran anyway. The Quran pretty much gives the details needed to know about Muhammad. I understand that it is annoying when we humans are so curious about the unknown to know more about Muhammad, but I guess God wanted it this way.
I have difficulties believing a single word of what is written in hadith, it is not worth putting down time for it.
For the Sunni Muslims who want to use the hadith as a validating factor for Quran, they need to open their eyes and see that the hadith does not validate the authenticity of Quran.
It comes down to Faith, just like about God, regarding the Quran. To believe or not to believe - is the question. But the professionalism of the Quran's construction and perfectness is of course its own proof of authenticity for those able to see.
God bless you

Yes Man of Faith.
History is history, faith is faith.Like I said in previous post history is not important for our faith, so thats why Quran never telling the stories or Nabi and Bani Israel very clearly like Bible instead just pick some parts of stories which can take the hikmah.
Hadith contain real stories or distorted stories it is not important, but at least our religion have historical background even little rather than not.

Talking to an atheist is like talking to an intelligent robot.

Peace,
You need to understand that it is not important to know the historical background of the prophet and the sahaba, what is important is that you take the message (What Allah revealed in the Quran) And you serve Allah, which is what you are instructed to do. Getting lost in details about the lives of the companions is not important, as all that you need to know is in the Quran. It's always a danger when glorifying other humans, because it's a fine line between respecting the person, and idolizing them. As we see today, when you have influential people, sometimes people like them to the point of respect. other times people get obsessed with them. The same logic applies. I mean out of interest read the hadith if you like, but it doesn't mean if you don't have any interest in learning what the companions ate, what they did etc etc, then it doesn't in any way stop you from being a muslim.
Also we just don't know how accurate any of it is, so many details about the lives of the sahaba could just be made up or seriously incorrect. So we may go and try to emulate them, but may end up doing harm instead of good.

I only reading hadith just for historical resoursces only not as my guidance book. But I need some hadith language patter as my referral for understand Quran's language because both of hadith and Quran use Classical Arabic.
The example is junuban in 56.Janaba literally means side, corner and far not "state of impurity" or "after sex" like we know, but how we know if junub in 56 means "state of impurity"??

This might clarify the meanings
First noun is broken plural feminine-cities-towns. Possessive phrase "the mother of them-". Today we call it the Capital of a nation-state.
Rulers who administer the nation-state are stationed at the Capital-the Main City. They are the first target audience of the Messenger and the Book of Allah.

Your answer make sense. literally means "mother the cities".Yes most of people mention their country with feminine pronoun, such like "motherland", "her".
My countrymen also said our country with "Ibu Pertiwi" means "mother of earth".Peace

And additional thought. Cape Town is called The Mother City in South Africa. Not because it is the capital city but because it was the first city in South Africa.
