Can anyone of you see yourself marrying a christian and having kids and letting ur wife raise the kids christian
How many of y'all can put up with that or tolerate that
Or how many of y'all have?

If I were to marry a Christian, then I would expect her to help me raise the children (if any) to
- Be Monotheists.
- Believe in the last day of Judgment.
- Be morally good and spread positivity, tolerance and peace (good deeds).
- Believe that the Holy Spirit, Jesus the Messiah, and the Final Prophet Muhammad are but the servants of the One LORD.
Aside from the above fundamental and (rationally) provable truths, all humans (including my kids) are free to use their brains (rationality) and hearts (instinct/inclination) to choose their own faith. I cannot compel anyone to believe. God alone guides to the truth (488; 109; ...). Noa (pbuh) could not convince his son to submit to God (1142-46). Ishmael (the first son of Abraham), on the other hand, was a firm believer who used to enjoin on his people prayer and charity and was most satisfied in the Providence of his Lord. (1954-55).
PS I would NOT marry a Christian no matter how much I cared about her, because (1) Tritheism is, by definition, a form of Polytheism. And (2) the trinity is strongly refuted and denounced as sacrilegious by the Glorious Qur'an.
Hope this helps.
Peace be unto you. -
Allah says the true Christians are the closest in companionship to the true Mumins 582. To identify who a true Christian and a true Mumin is it is them who are well informed directly by God yet, they are not proud. So whoever among the people at large, are not proud, well-informed of One God, and of the One Judge, and of the Unseen Roghteous Powers, and of the One Book, and of the leaders who are Graced and well-endowed by One God 2177
Shun the so called self styled religious people with various names such as Mumins, Muslims, Christians, Jews, Sabians 262 In this angle all your intra religious marriages are void. There is every chance you may become guided if you go for inter-religious marriages.

Thanks hicham9 for mentioning some good point, but do you know there is no Trinitian Christian both from Chatolic or Protestant claiming themself as Polytheist. If you dont believe me, just try ask a Christian in your country, Is there any single Christian which claim themself as polytheist?
An Chatolic priest in my country ever say if any christian who says God is three or claiming themself polytheist, this means that Christian is
astray. The meaning of trinity according by Christian is God is still one but He has three personalities (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). This mean Trinitian Christian is still a monotheist and never claiming if God is three.
By writing this it doesn't mean I sided with Christian, but just give some correction to you bro Hicham. So we can understand Christian and Christian can also understand us too.
Peace Glory to be Allah.
We musn't confused about this again since Quran already give us a clear verse.
55 Today, the good things have been made lawful to you, and thefood of those who have been given the Book is lawful for you, and your food is lawful for them; and the independent females from those who are believers, and the independent females from
those who have been given the Book/AlKitab before youIt's clear if we can marry an Ahlul Kitab, this mean a woman who follow previous Scriptures.
What forbidden is if we marry a musryikeen except they're already repent.
2221And do not marry the female musrykeen until they believe. For a believing female servant is better than a musyrikeen even if she attracts you. And do not marry the male musyrikeen until they believe. For a believing male servant is better than a polytheist even if he attracts you. Those invite to the Fire, while God is inviting to the Paradise and forgiveness by His consent. He
clarifies His revelations for the people that they may remember.Musyrikeen is people who did syirik/shirk (not worshipping Allah).
Plus Ahlul Kitab is cannot categorized from musyrikeen according to this verse
981
"Ahli Kitab and musyrikiina"By looking that sentence ahli kitab and musryik was written separately, this means they are different group.
Then how if we married ahli Kitab and raised our children?
I think a marriage is habluminanas (relation between human and human) and has nothing to do with religion.
Then how if our children following our ahli kitab wife rather than our religion?By reading 2256, it says there is no compulsion in religion, it doen't mean that children can choose their own path, but it's more better if we can convice the wife and children to convert to Islam (without forcing)NOTEIt's more better and safety if we married an Muslimah rather than Ahli Kitab especially from Trinitian Christian because Allah already condemn them in many verses in the Quran.

Good post earthdom
But the trinity and believing jesus died on the cross for our sins is blasphemy & it's not right , & they are not right but we have to respect that & not disrespect there beliefs
-
Peace,
Unfortunately most Christians stubbornly choose to believe Jesus was God's son, despite how silly this sounds with simple logic. Personally, I never bought the trinity teachings from the start. I used to be a Christian, but I distanced myself from the trinity belief.
People are simply too indoctrinated and trusting their system too much, it is hard for them to change their minds. Same as traditional muslims and their excessive idolization of Muhammad.Muhammad. Humans always seem to rejoice when mortal beings are involved.
Despite from this, many Christians are really reverent believers and their "only crime" is the blasphemous trinity which is difficult to erase from their heads.
Even among Christians the idolatry is to a varying degree though, where many are focusing mostly on God and barely not thank Jesus for their blessings. I would say you should not judge all Christians for their Faith, because they may be better than you.
God bless you

Dear Earthdom,
I'm afraid I'll have to disagree with you on pretty much everything you've said. To keep things short and sweet; not too long ago, I wrote a short essay on the subject of the Trinity, which I recommend that you take a few minutes to read through the following link http//churchianity.webs.com/

Peace,
Hmm... if we consider Trinitarian Christians to be Monotheist, in the way Islam defines it, then some modern Pagans could also be Monotheist. Some believe that all Gods are One God and Dianic Wiccans only worship a Goddess, I believe which could make them a type of Monotheist. All the different gods are considered to be facets of the one God according to quite a few modern Pagans.
I actually view Trintarian Christians as outside of Monotheism as defined in the Quran. The same would go for the Pagans who believe all gods are facets of the One God. It could be considered a loose type of Monotheism that incorporates a type of Polytheism?

You and I shall maintain the status and dignity of a human being God had created us with. It is very important to stand by our religious duty remain at peace with those who Allah is pleased with. Allah is not pleased with the Muslims right now if we apply the following verse to todays events happening around the world 6835 Then will We treat the Muslims like the criminals? The priesthood are the enemies of Allah and companions of shaitaan for it is them that divided the One Nation, One Community. Discard the abominable priesthood this would save our future children; future world; save them from madrasas, the den of communalism. If you do this, this thread has no relevance to life to deal with at all.
Madrasas are the schools of all the religious priesthood on the earth.

Ya Allah my google chrome is crashed so I must repeat again to wrote this
Peace all
Glory be to Allah, yes it's true is Trinity condemned by Allah, but it has nothing to do with marriage because verse 55 is clearly stated.Marriage and family is part of human relationship and this world life.In akhirat we will get different life and new family (stated in 457)
Man of Faith, I know you're a muallaf, so your Christian knowledges is more better than me.My statement about Christian is not my own research but it was based on some Christian priest and evangelist.Plus what I heard from them is Allah (Indonesian Christian say Allah like Muslim for mentioning their God) is still one but have three different personals. If I'm wrong just give me a correction.
Hicham, your article on that website is good, and give me more knowledges so thanks Hicham. But you must remember even your article pointing out if Trinity is polytheist but in the fact none Christians claim themself as polytheist. It's better if we understand Christian so they can understand us too.I wont debating you over this because I'm not a Christologist.By saying this I'm not sided with Christian and myself also condemn that Trinity teaching.
Supportpeacenotwar, there is no such term like polytheist-monotheist in the Quran especially for the marriage cause, the Quran only mentioning about Ahli Kitab (Allah worshipper) and Mushrikeen (wroshipping another God).
drfazl, you're true ever we different background lets struggle for create peace and not condemning or create hostility with each other.

Peace glory to allah,
It was a general statement and not directed to anyone specific.
For interfaith upbringing together with a trinitarian Christian, I think this is near impossible if God's religion is important to you. Thanking Jesus and all songs of praise for Jesus is too much in my opinion.
At the same time, many Christians are just misinformed regarding Jesus divinity, some are easy to change their minds that they stop believing him to be God's son. Their belief is just through naivety.
I must say it is as hard to raise a son with a Muhammadan Muslim, because of an unhealthy focus on Muhammad and his family in the course of life. My wife is however starting to get the true God's religion into her head, but it is a slow progress after a life of indoctrination.
For peace at home, both needs to follow monotheism or polytheism, you cannot mix both because they are incompatible. Would be the same as mixing two people with different political viewpoints, and both very outwards with their standing. They would be very incompatible.
One would not want to see their children run to a church or mosque singing praises for prophets and who knows what. I think you need to at least change your wife/husband who is Christian into a unitarian one before proceeding or there will be a lack of peace. But of course, then they are no longer Christian, but they may stubbornly want to refer themselves as such which can be fine I think.
God bless you

Peace Man of Faith,
Like I stated in the post above, the verse 55 is clearly stated we can marry Ahli Kitabs and as long as they worshipping Allah, it's ok if we married with them plus there is no term like polytheist-monotheist in the Quran and if you found it in the Free-Minds translation, I think the translator did some faulty.
And according to verse 666 we must protect our family from hell, this means after marriying an Ahli Kitab we must try to persuade them to follow straight path.
Plus like I stated in precious post if it's better to avoid to marry the non Muslim.

Peace Earthdom,
While there is not exactly the term polytheism in Quran it refers to Paganism. Trinitarian Christianity is just that and that is polytheism since you regard Jesus as son of God. It means there are two Gods excluding the Holy Spirit, according to this reasoning. This is not believing in God alone and hence not monotheism which God requires. You can clearly see that God addresses both the trinity and Jesus as God and says it is a blasphemy. It is idol worship.
We can marry Christians, if they are errenously referring themselves as such, the Quran considers the Christians to be decent folks, and as long as they are unitarian and do not believe in the trinity. A wife who is idolizing Jesus, and to the extent of considering him as the son of God is not an appropriate future parent for your children.
Now, there is not always something you can do about your fate and sometimes you end up with a wife who is either a traditional Muslim or Christian. Then your lifelong goal is to try to make them part from their ways.
Personally I think I have semi-succeeded on that, my wife is starting to leave her Paganism even if it is a slow procedure due to immense indoctrination etc. I hope she has left the idolatry sufficiently enough when my son has reached receptive age and is sensitive to indoctrination, but I suppose I have to trust God on that.
God bless you

Peace everyone,
I think the Quran clearly defines and explains the concept of Monotheism. A belief in a single Deity that is One, that has no parts to it. This is often called Islamic Monotheism in everyday speech.
As an additional point to my original post If you have background knowledge in what modern Pagans believe, you'll know that what they believe cannot be called Islamic Monotheism. Some of them are 'hard' polytheists and some are 'soft' polytheists. This belief can only be described as a 'type' of Monotheism because its referring to one Deity that they believe has many facets. These facets, they believe, are represented by different gods that all make up one God. Yes, this is very different from Islamic Monotheism but it's not the same as 'hard' polytheism. In 'hard' polytheism, all the gods are seens as separate individual entities.
One really need to look into what modern Pagans believe about Deity to appreciate the difference, if you are interested in this topic.
Just some thoughts.

Earthdom,My post is directly aimed at creating peace by pleading to reject the dens of communalism run in the name of "Religious Schools" by every religion on earth and turn to One God and destroy the priesthood. Follow what Allah has sent down upon your heart from His Wisdom, direct; and do not follow any other leader 73.
Still do you say I am creating hostility?
