    Peace all,
May The Names of Allah Be Praised in Every Masjid!

Masjidul Haram - Your own Houses !

Masjid is a House Wherein Allah's Names are Rememered and Revered ; and Practised and Dignified. Masjid is a Place where we surrender totally to the God's Will - thus a masjid is a place where SUJUD is practised by all household; wherein there is no amusement or entertainment ; wherein the inhabitants Fear Allah Most! May Masjids be your Houses ; the houses of the Believers whose folks maintain the SACREDNESS of their house due to their fear for Allah, making their houses Masjidul Haram.

From wherever you start, always turn your faces towards the Masjidul Haram; always be prayerful that your masjidul Haram (house) be kept purified all the time for those believers who come to Exalt the Lord, practise SUJUD and HUMILITY (ruku)

    039.009
What! he who is obedient during hours of the night, prostrating himself and standing, takes care of the hereafter and hopes for the mercy of his Lord! Say Are those who know and those who do not know alike? Only the men of understanding are mindful.

      Peace upon you drfazl,

Al-masjid al-haram means to me, the very house or one's system of principles, that has as a foundation "to not associate anything with the god", and as walls "the god's limits or the forbidden acts" that we have to submit to.

Anyone who enters such a house would leave no way for people against him, except the wrongdoers. And surely he would be at peace therein. It's not a physical house, at least to me.

And the god is surely more knowledgeable.

        Peace someone,

You are right! I have neither introduced the subject of Masjid as physical. The whole subject drifts far away from material understanding, revolving around the mental level and is soulful in nature. Allah is abstract and so sujud or submission shall be practised in the depth of one's heart alone.

Masjidul Haram is one's own Soul. May the purified souls reside in your houses and may Allah adorn them as His Masjids. If ever one needs physical identity to masjidul haram it shall either be his own house or there is no masjid for him at all. If you are to follow the Taurat, your Qibla is the direction of your houses as we see from the following verse

        010.087
We inspired Moses and his brother with this Message "Provide dwellings for your people in Egypt, make your houses as your Qibla, and establish regular prayers and give glad tidings to those who believe!"

By making our houses masjidul haram and our Qibla, we follow the TAURAT of Musa s.a.w.

          Peace be upon you all,

I am of the same undewrstanding, that the "place of hearing and obeyin the restrictions" is a mental/spritual place.

By making our houses masjidul haram and our Qibla, we follow the TAURAT of Musa

          Interesting, please elaborate.

I disagree with the underlined part. I think we should not forbid what the god has made lawfull for us.

I have a question for you drfazl,
You are writing in english, but you are keeping the word "allah" in arabic as if it is a proper noun of the creator. Wouldn't it be more convenient to translate it as "the god"?

Can you please refer the ayats here where Allah had made amusement and entertainment lawful in a masjid ?

Allah is not the proper noun of a person or a thing or a place; for none had seen allah and none/nothing is like unto HIM; He is The None That We Know Of!

              Al = The
La = None (that we know of, but)
              Hu = He

Al La Hu means " THE NONE that we know of but HE. There is no name including the word 'God' equivalent to the word " Al La Hu " to call the Almighty, the Creator. Not only in english, in any language it shall be allah. Allah shall neither be an arabic word! Allahu is the word taught to people by the Creator Himself

Someone, will you please define the meaning of the 'word' GOD as Al La Hu is defined? God is the proper noun because it has no meaning at all!

                Peace be upon you Doc,

You seem to be going back and forth. First, I thought you were in agreement that "masjid" is a mental state of hearing and obeying the restricted.

Now you seem to state it is physcical by saying there is no amusement allowed. That does not make sense.

The word "Allah" comes from "Al=The" and "ilah=god", so we get "The God". The Arabic language is not to be idolized. The God says that the BEST DESCRIPTIONS are his, not just "Allah".

                  Peace idolfree,

Masjid is not a state of mind as a single entity as you say, but a state of our minds' whole hearted submission to the SOUL. Amusement and entertainment together is denounced by Allah for it is 'pep'ing up of mind that creates a false sense of being ' happy and joyful '. These entertainments and amusements thus are , an intoxicant to one's mind and behave very much physically and worldly straying from the reality of mind As a result their masjids in their hearts get demolished.

The word is not 'Alilah' ( Al ilah); but it is Al La Hu (Allahu). Allahu is not from arabic language, but it is a pure word from Allahu Himself to describe HIM. Allahu is the Best Of All Descriptions, carrying the meaning of The None That you Know of But He! Thus you cannot associate anything or any person with HIM or assign any fixed place as HIS.

I need to know from you what does the word 'God' denote?

                      Peace drfazl,

                      In 11 we have

                      Bismillahi arrahma'ni arrahimi

It's not bismillahu, the word "allah" follows grammar rules thus it's not a proper name.

You are right when asking for what the word "God" denotes, because saying "god or God" is as saying "table or Table", it's simply a word, it's not giving any information, it's a concept (remember adam learning the description / classifying things).

                      Concept
1 something conceived in the mind THOUGHT, NOTION
2 an abstract or generic idea generalized from particular instances

There are many kinds of tables, but we have the same concept of table.

In the same way, there are many gods (from a faulty human perspective=idolworship), as many as human population, if not more, or as many as potential idols.

But in truth, there's no other god than the god the creator the initiator, and we are not to associate anything with him, nothing is like him.

                        Peace be upon you Doc,

Masjid is not a state of mind as a single entity as you say

Where did I say that? I only said state of mind, nothing about single entity. I understand there to be only ONE MIND, manifesting as many.

but a state of our minds' whole hearted submission to the SOUL.

What is the soul? Which Arabic word denotes "soul"? I assume that you , like myself, have "Nafs" to be MIND. As I read again, what I think you are saying is that the MIND must submit to the Ruh(Divine Enegy/will of the God). I am in agreement with that.

I think I understand what you are saying, but not sure I would say it the same way. I think what you are talking about is the BALANCE of PEACE. While we say we must not be in states of Fear and Anger, there is also the opposite end of too much joy and happiness. Both EXCESSES cause you to leave the point of BALANCE. Both states causes reactions in your body that are not meant to last long. Faer and Anger causes the "fight or flight" response, which takes blood from the brain and gives it to the arms and legs which are now prepared to fight or run. But this is not a state that one should remain in for long. Likewise, when one is experiencing too much pleasure, they are putting thier selves in conditions that are not meant to be lasting. I was told (BUT NEVER VERIFIED) that people who win large sums of money, get unhealthy soon after due to them walking around in a state of extreme excitement for too long.

Now, where I think you and I differ is that you are saying that amusement is wrong, I am saying we cannot avoid these states because we are here on earth and will be tested, we are just not to remain in those states EXCESSIVELY. We should be rotating from Peace to please to peace to pleasure. Most people go from pain to pleasure to pain to pleasure. I do not think we can maintain the absolute state of peace only, until we return to the One God.

I disagree 100%. This reading(quran) was descended in Arabic. There were no exceptions given. Therfore I have no knowledge of what you are talking about and cannot follow the path of no knowledge. Is it not true that when you combine Al +Ilah, you get Allah?

I understand "God" to be ALL there is, both seen and unseen, from the source which in unknowable, to the manifestation which is knowable.

Every language uses a different OBJECTIVE SYMBOL to clothe the idea. The Arabic language uses "Allah".

Good doctor, please ask me what I mean. There is no need to fill the screen with conjecture, I am right here to tell you clearly my position.

When I speak of the "ALL", I am saying that the God is ALL THINGS both seen and unseen. When I say 'Source which is unknowable', that means that the SOURCE of the SEEN part comes from the UNSEEN part. Knowledge comes from the seen part, Wisdom from the unseen part. Since the God decreed upon HIMSELF Mercy, the LAWS that we discover through knowledge help us reach the levels of wisdom, because as the ancients revealed, "as above, so below".

                              Quote
Every language uses a different OBJECTIVE SYMBOL to clothe the idea. The Arabic language uses "Allah".

It is not Allah; but AL LA HU

28 says Al la hi, so which one is it?

                                  Salaam Idol,

Yes, I have already told you that knwldge and wisdom are different, but knowledge is the foundation of wisdom. In THIS world that we live in, we NEED knowledge to get to Wisdom. You seem to be forgetting your portion of "this world". There must be a balance good doctor, we are "individuals" which is an indivisible duality, make sure you are not leaning too far in one direction. The tree that is not firmly rooted in the soil get toppled over by the wind.

Idolfree, How would you define "Wisdom", and what is the difference between Wisdom and knowledge?

                                    Peace be upon you Qalone,

I would define Wisdom as "intuition" that comes from gathering knowledge. For example, take one of the concepts of the reading(quran) that you had trouble with. You had to collect all the verses, get definitions, so on and so forth, until the answer just seemed to "pop" in your head. That "pop" is the WISDOM.

That is the best I can do right now, I think that is pretty accurate, but i will reflect on it tonight and see if there is a more clear definition.

One thing for sure, if you REJECT "knowledge", you won't be able to even read this message because it takes knowledge to understand symbols such as letters.

                                      Peace Idolfree,

I have always believed that Wisdom corresponds with understanding the goal and reason for humanity, and since the quran elaborates on these factors of Wisdom, I tend to associate the quran with Wisdom.

With this understanding(Wisdom) we can utilize the knowledge contained in the world and quran/scripture and direct them to the correct path(Islam) and be of those who are considered wise.

In other words, utilize worldly knowledge with "common sense", which in this case, common sense corresponds to the knowledge of Wisdom and Wisdom corresponds to the understanding/philosophy of humanity, which is of course Islam/quran/the God's revelations.

Thats my position with regard to Widom at this point, what do you think?

                                      Peace

                                        Peace all

What is WISDOM? (According to the Quran)

                                        1722 to 38

This is that of (WISDOM) Al-Hikmah, which your Lord has INSPIRED to you. And set not up with Allah any other ilah (god) lest you should be thrown into Hell, blameworthy and rejected, (from Allah's Mercy). 1739

                                        WHERE WE CAN FIND WISDOM

By the Qur'an full of Wisdom 362

WISDOM GRANTED TO WHOMSOEVER ALLAH WILLS

He vouchsafeth wisdom unto whomsoever He will, and whosoever is vouchsafed wisdom is of a surety vouchsafed abundant good, and none receiveth admonition Save men of understanding. 2269

                                        WISDOM COMES AFTER MATURITY

And when he ATTAINED HIS FULL STRENGTH and became firm, We vouchsafed unto him WISDOM and knowledge; and Thus We reward the well-doers. 2814

                                        Thanks

                                          Peace be upon you Doc,
I disagree 100%. This reading(quran) was descended in Arabic.

idol, Arabic happens to be the language of the people, the people whom allah chose in the world for they were/are the people most astray even today. It is just another human language having all the principles of a language such as grammar, alphabet, vocabulary etc. So what makes the difference while you read is whether you are going to apply your soul(wisdom) to the mind(knowledge) or not. Soul is the criterion/principle for realizing The Book.

What you write below are about the language of humans not that of God; for you have only interest in the application of your worldly language(knowledge); if only you have ruled over this, the criterion(wisdom) would have emerged elevating the meaning to the higher standards.

Yes, I have already told you that knwldge and wisdom are different, but knowledge is the foundation of wisdom.

By saying so do u mean to say mind is the foundation of soul? No. Mind shall use the Soul for its own Guidance. Knowledge shall surrender in total submission to the Soul, the RUH of Allah.

In THIS world that we live in, we NEED knowledge to get to Wisdom. You seem to be forgetting your portion of "this world".

Wisdom helps your survival despite your knowledge. For example you learn to drive the car; learn to accelerate; learn to stop the car etc., It is all knowledge. But you escape an accident in split seconds by application of sudden brakes, at hair-thin breadth. That is Wisdom unknown to you and none can teach you this. Knowledge cannot give you Wisdom, for it is as good as dead material.

When I speak of the "ALL", I am saying that the God is ALL THINGS both seen and unseen.

Please idol, hear me if I am clearly hearing what you say ' God is both physical and mystical ? And He is a THING and He is visible too; to the naked eye and you have seen HIM, through your physical nature!?'

When I say 'Source which is unknowable', that means that the SOURCE of the SEEN part comes from the UNSEEN part.

Exactly correct! Source of knowledge(SEEN part) comes from the Wisdom(the UNSEEN part). But you lookat your own quote below and see how you contradict the above quote of yours!

Knowledge comes from the seen part, Wisdom from the unseen part.

Is it contradiction ? If not, confusion ?

                                          drfazl
