I have done "Hajj". I did it for the sake of my family at a time when I wasn't mentally or spiritually ready. But in retrospect, I feel that all I did was participate in a bunch of pagan rituals. It was hardly spiritual or meaningful to me. And I don't even know what true Hajj is. I haven't found a proper explanation in Quran. But my question is, even if we find the true meaning of Hajj, is it even possible to do it in 2013? First of all, the Saudis will ask you on your landing card what your sect is. If they give you the privilege of stepping foot on their kingdom, you are restricted to performing Hajj during a period of a few days. You will be told where you can and can not go. The entire place and activities performed wreak of pagan worship and rituals. You will be required to wear attire not mentioned in Quran (good luck trying to perform Hajj in a tshirt and jeans). You will be told when to go from one place to another (good luck wandering the Prophets land according to your schedule). The Saudi police are all over the place looking to beat anyone not following the wahhabi way. It's a mess. Is it even possible to attempt to follow a Quranic Hajj? Or does Hajj no longer apply to us because Mecca is now controlled by pagans?

        Salaam Aamer,

After reading your post, I think it is so much better to pilgrim to Jerusalem, Israel than to pilgrim to Mecca, Saudi Arabia since Mecca has now been a place of pagan worship of Wahhabi.

To be honest I have never been to Mecca. Some of my relatives, including my grandma have been there.
I have heard that the people say that when you are in Mecca, everything that pops up in your mind will happen. For example, if you are worried that your purse/wallet would be lost, it would definitely be lost -_-

Pilgrimage in Mecca has very odd rules such as men must go bald etc, people must go around the Kaaba 7 times, kissing a black stone etc. -_-

They also ask what your sect is?
        Aamer, what did you answer?
What if someone answered that he/she did not belong to any sect or just followed the Qur'an alone?

I don't think the true Hajj is possible in 2013 because Mecca, just like the entire Saudi Arabia, is still controlled by Wahhabi / Salafi / true Sunni gangs.

I don't know when Qur'an alone muslims will unite, outnumber and arise.
        God willing, we will pr
I pity the prisoners in Saudi Arabia and I am sick of oppression of people in Saudi Arabia.

Every year, month, week, day and even hour, people embrace or accept Islam but........ most of them embrace Sunnism. sigh

        Regards,
        Yuliana

The answer to this question is a big, resounding "NO". It is no longer possible.

And I don't even know what true Hajj is. I haven't found a proper explanation in Quran.

You will have to do "tarteel" (sift through all the passages of the Quran that mention Hajj / Restricted Months and arrange them together) to get the full picture, because the passages are scattered. However, the bulk of the subject matter can be found in Surah 5.

Here is how I understand it

There is a period of 4 restricted ashhur (possibly equaling 3 months), during which hunting of game is strictly forbidden. This is why the Quran says

{O you who believe, honor your contracts. Made lawful for you are the animals of the livestock, except that which is being recited to you. You are not permitted to hunt the game while you are under restriction. Allah decrees as He pleases}...

          Elsewhere, it says

{O you who believe, Allah will test you with some of the game for hunting coming within reach of your hands and your spears, so that Allah will know who reverences Him while unseen. Whoever transgresses from now on, then he will have a painful retribution * O you who believe, do not kill any game while you are restricted; and whoever of you kills it deliberately, then the recompense is to value what was killed against the livestock, which shall be judged by two equitable persons from you, and to make it as a donation to reach the Kaabah. Or, the feeding of a needy one, or abstaining for an equitable term; that is to suffer the results of his deed; Allah forgives what has past. And whoever returns, then Allah will seek vengeance on him. Allah is Noble, capable of vengeance}...

Basically, it is telling us that Allah will test the believers to see if they will take from nature what they need, or if they will transgress and corrupt the earth by hunting more than is sufficient, or by hunting when they are not supposed to (during the season of restriction). Hunting during this season is no longer classified as hunting, but as deliberate killing. It is hence a crime. The perpetrator of this crime must atone in one of three ways either he makes a donation of livestock at the Kaabah, or he will feed needy people, or he will fast for an equitable term. There should also be a judge to make sure that the penalty is equivalent to the crime.

{Lawful for you is the catch of the sea, to eat it as enjoyment for you and for those who travel; and unlawful for you is the catch of the land as long as you are under restriction; and be aware of Allah, to whom you will be gathered}...

Basically, you can eat anything from the sea, all year round, but you cannot hunt land game when you are under restriction.

According to the perverted, twisted, senseless and illogical pagan mockery of the Deen being practiced today, the "under restriction" state has come to mean a period of 3 or 4 days at most, when you are dressed in the plain white garb, and within the boundaries of a certain area in the Saudi Hijaz. Once you remove the garb and shave your head, the restriction is over.

This of course is a blatant contradiction to the Quran, which the hypocrites claim is the "first source of their beliefs" (as we read in the books of so-called "Fiqh&quot.

The state of restriction is not 3 or 4 days, but a whole season of 3 months. These 3 months are the SAME MONTHS OF THE HAJJ. It is one and the same period.

{The Hajj ashhur are made known. So whoever decides to perform the Hajj therein, then there shall be no sexual approach, nor wickedness, nor baseless argument during the Hajj. And any good that you do, Allah is aware of it; and bring provisions for yourselves, though the best provision is righteousness; and be aware of Me, O you who possess intellect}...

As you can see, the Hajj is a season composed of several ashhur (period extending between four full moons). Abu Hurayra and Ibn Abbas, thought it more convenient to abrogate Allah's words and dwarf the Hajj "season" into a few days. (This is the so-called "Sunnah of Muhammad", which they claim is necessary to "explain" the Quran. Apparently, their interpretation of "to explain" is "to contradict&quot.

People hence came to the Hajj in successive congregations, wherein one group finishes their business there and leaves, making room for the next wave, and so on, for a full 3-month season. For example Let's say that the Hajj season happens to be ,during months X,Y, and Z. You can assign for yourself any few days within that three-month span to conduct your Hajj. For instance, assume you decreed for yourself that you will be there from the 4th until the 12th day month Y. (It is usually not more than 10 days). This is your Hajj period. But what if you arrive 3 days before that the assigned period? What are those 3 days called?

Answer These 3 days are your 'umrah. Plain and simple.
This explains why, immediately before the above signs, we read

{...If you are secure, then whoever resides ("enjoys" the 'umrah) until the Hajj, he shall provide what offering is affordable; but for he who cannot find anything, then he must fast for three days during the Hajj and seven when he returns; this will make a complete ten; this is for those whose wives/relatives/ are not resident at the Restricted Masjid. And be aware of Allah, and know that Allah is severe in retribution}....

Note, above, how your 'umrah period actually extends UNTIL the period of your Hajj (which you had assigned for yourself) arrives. During that time, you are present at the great gathering, in the Sanctuary. The 'umrah is not detached from the Hajj, as it is practiced today.

Compare what the Quran is saying with the rampant understanding of Umrah, and you will see that this religion they follow has absolutely no relation to the Truth whatsoever. it is a man-made, pagan innovation. PERIOD.

So, during the 3 restricted months (which ARE the Hajj months), no hunting is allowed. What is the alternative then? You have two choices eat fish, or eat the meat of the LIVESTOCK (sheep, goat, camel, or cow), which are special animals made completely subservient to mankind, and whose breeding can be controlled. Eat their meat during the Hajj months, instead of hunting.

How much more simple can it be?

Of course, there are other functions for the Hajj

          1- Trade
2- Discuss the problems of society in the presence of the leaders of the community.
          3- Conduct salat in congregations.
4- Renew your vows to Allah.
5- Simply visit the place...remember the first ever Sanctuary, that was established for mankind.

The rampant version of Hajj is a mockery and an insult to the Deen. It is a FALSE practice.
The rituals they do are false.
The TIMING is false (because their calendar months do not conform with the seasons)
The PLACE itself is false. The description of the lands surrounding the Bayt in the Quran does NOT match the territorial geography of where Makkah is today. Many Muslims I know have felt this in their hearts, but are too afraid to follow where their hunch leads them. So they hide behind their fingers and ignore this thing and keep it in the back of their minds. The vast majority however, are content.

As the saying goes We lie best when we lie to ourselves.

          Peace..

It means that Hajj CAN be near the sea hmm unlike Makkah?

Not necessarily. The people being addressed by the aayah might happen to be by the sea. Remember, that the restriction period is a full three-month season, and you can be anywhere during that time. If you happen to be by the sea, then you can go fishing. This is why the aayah mentions "travel". You do not have to be inside the Masjid at the time.

It defies belief and truly boggles the mind how deceived and brainwashed the sectarians are in the way they understand the so-called "State of Ihram". They think that it is during a specific time when you are approaching Makkah, and doing your rituals for a few days therein (as if anyone can engage in travel or even think of hunting a deer, or contemplate going out of his way to the sea coast to catch a fish while being engrossed in those mindless rituals they do!).

They have made a complete mockery of the Quran's teaching regarding the restricted months, and the true understanding of what Hajj really is.

The main culprits who did this are the same ones who hijacked the Deen, moved the seat of government out of its true place, transferred it to Damascus and later to Baghdad, and established their tyrannical and corrupt rule there. The Hajj was emptied of its meaning and became a carnival of pagan rituals.

There is more to the story...much more ... but to go any further is to open a Pandora's box unto something very ugly...

                peace bro pazuzu,

I agree with much of what you said, except

Answer These 3 days are your 'umrah. Plain and simple.
This explains why, immediately before the above signs, we read

The blue "this" is referring to those who visited. The word "ila" rarely, if ever, means "until", as that is more commonly "hatta" which is also used in 2196, so it should read "enjoyed in the visit to the hajj". The reason it only refers to giving of hdy for those who visited, is because those who do hajj will automatically be providing food/etc thus there is no need to mention it for them.

I have read 2196 many times, but I didn't realise that until recently. Now it seems so obvious.

The 'umrah is not detached from the Hajj, as it is practiced today.

                I agree.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

I put "Sunni" on my landing card. I had long left Sunnism but I wasn't about to get sent back after a twelve hour flight.

One has to put which "sect" one follows or declare an affiliation with faith? o How strange. I have no idea why people have such a fascination with other people's belief system. Recently I have come to realise that "religious" people can be the most repugnant. In cases of malice, what defence does a label provide.

Religions are just private clubs with members and rules. If you follow the rules, you will find a sense of belonging and a community to call your own. If you break or question the rules, you will have your membership revoked. Most members of any given group are not the least bit interested in the truth or even God. They are attached to the group they hold a membership card with and their identity revolves around their affiliation with the group. They take so much pride in their group and have little room to think about what happens after death.

It would still be a futile waste of time. Returning the Hajj to what it used to be requires that the entire Deen (system) be set up and implemented in a state, fully under the control of believers, that declares the law of God as its constitution. This is no longer possible.

Theoretically, there is nothing in the Quran that prohibits this state from being founded elsewhere, if not in its original location, and hence establishing a new Kaabah there.

As for the proper timing of Hajj, there are two conflicting theories The first places the Hajj months during spring time (March 21 - June 21), give or take a few days. It begins with the spring equinox and ends with the summer solstice (Ramadan). The second theory places the Hajj months during the summer time, until the autumn equinox.

I think you should see what brother Ayman has to say regarding this issue.

One who does hajj is not the same as one who visits. I will cover this in the article I'm writing, GW.

                            Looking forward to Wakas' article.

Why on earth will people in general want to go there and circulate about a stone structure or kiss stones or throw stones at other stones, the artical is ridiculouse or my understanding is.

                                    peace

                                      Pazuzu,
You make some great points. But before we can get to all that, shouldn't we know what those months are and where to go? I can't find anything even clarifying the most basic elements of Hajj (time/location).

Thank you @Aamer for starting this post.
I find it quite unsettling that there is so much confusion and vagueness about Hajj even in the Qur'an...
I wouldn't even think about going to present day Mecca, so, def not possible in 2013.

The state of restriction is not 3 or 4 days, but a whole season of 3 months. These 3 months are the SAME MONTHS OF THE HAJJ. It is one and the same period.

                                        Salam Brother ,

According to the Quran it's four months not three ?

936 / Lo! the number of the months with Allah is twelve months by Allah's ordinance in the day that He created the heavens and the earth. Four of them are restricted that is the right "Deen" (system) . So wrong not yourselves in them. And fight the polytheist all together as they are fighting you all of together , And know that Allah is with those who those who guard ( the limits set by Allah ) .

Actually I'm still confused on this hajj things brickwall.

This problem is not simply playing Arabic grammar only but must used some proof from another narrations I think especially to understand that hajar aswat thing.
Yeah for our safety, if you want go to hajj then follow Sunni's way contemporary because there is no final fatwa from Quranist.

Yep filling Saudi's stomach is kind of sadaqah hahahaha ;D
