    Salaam,

Hmm... take money to teach God's religion/system. That is against the Quranic teachings as far as I know, is it not? And that guy is not a Messenger that is for sure or he would never ask for any money.

    God bless you

O you who believe, many religious leaders and preachers take the people's money illicitly, and repel from the path of GOD.

Some years ago I was also impressed by Zakir Nike's performances, but I was also repelled for his manners and ridiculing other faiths...

    Peace all

Dr. Zakir Naik happens to be one of my distant relatives and his father Dr. Karim Naik was very close to my father and they worked together for the betterment of our society.

However I hate Zakir Naik because he has a very little knowledge of Quran and more of the Hdith and other religious Books. He follows Hadith rather than the Quran. He has not authored any book based on the Quran but Hadith. In one of his speech he translated one particular verse from the Quran which shocked me because the subject was totally missing in the Arabic Verse

And hold firmly to the rope of Allah (AND THE AUTHENTIC HADITH of MUHAMMAD sa.w.) all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you - when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may be guided. 3103

He added "THE AUTHENTIC HADITH of MUHAMMAD s.a.w. which is not there in Arabic. I challenged one of his followers, who was a very intimate friend of mine, on this subject, but what I got in return was that he turned away from me without giving me a satisfactory reply and never tried to contact me afterwards and thus our concrete friendship crumbled by the force of the nonsense authentic hadith.

Not many people may be knowing that he has been banned for preaching Islam in every state of India for mocking the GANPATI GOD of the Hindus for which he has no right.

Ridiculing others for any reason is FORBIDDEN BY ALLAH. This he should have learned from the Quran before standing on the Dais for preaching Islam and the Quran and the Hadith

He received money in millions from the Imam of Mecca some four years back. He has opened an Islamic School where only the wealthy can afford the fees and no poor people can dare to approach that school and in the name of Islam he actually teaches the recitation and the memorization of the Quran and the HADITH.

I have more to write but I think that is enough

    Thanks

Thank you for the writing your personal experience.

Someone who preaches God's religion (sorry religion is still the best word in English discourse to use, for those who do not use this word) ought not to take money for this "job". Anyways, God's religion is often made complicated by those who preach it and is seldom reflecting the Truth. True preachers will have their reward from God and will find the provisions from various ways without asking for money as God will subtly supply them with what they need. If you look back in history the Messengers often had normal jobs and lives prior to their Messengership and they did not regard themselves as superior even when declared their status and were rather humble. What they had what many others have was Faith and a bond to God and thus they excelled and spoke out to the people about God once they were certain that they were chosen ones often with strong divine inspiration (the Holy Spirit went in unto them). They were not greedy and they likely did not care about wealth as they were certain that the would have their real reward when this temporary illusion and test was over. Despite not caring, God likely made them wealthy in one way or another, or at least provided for them so that they never worried about their life situation.

And like you said about ridiculing, a preacher would not ridicule the faith of others unless constructively criticizing them, but then they do not ridicule them but rather try to guide them. For example, give them examples and allegories to why they should think in a specific way and not joking about them or being disrespectful in various ways. Or say 'death to X!'.

Note The word religion likely comes etymologically from RELY which means the word stands for something which someone has put their trust in, i.e. rely on. I do not understand the people who are allergic to this word. I have been curious about this word after so much criticism on this word, but I suspected it means what you rely on and it seemed true after looking in dictionaries. Religion is perhaps not the right translation of the Arabic word 'deen' however, but when you talk about what you put your Faith in you can use religion, I usually say God's religion.

        God bless you

Living BY Quran is the example not by Memorization. Those who memorize Quran nothing but Tape Record simple Brain Activity.

          Good point, brother.

Hadiths deceive people to believe that God will give wonderful virtues (such as Paradise, crown of honour, intercession for family) for those who can memorize the Qur'an (perhaps refer to hafiz/hafiza who has completely memorized the Qur'an).

It is quite suspicious why some popular hadiths emphasize to memorize the Qur'an.

Seems like these hadiths direct us to focus on memorizing Qur'an and prevent us from studying Qur'an.

          Peace.

Is the logic of Zakir Naik reliable? In an answer on evolution, Zakir Naik makes 25 clear mistakes in only 5 minutes.
