Question about polygamy
-
Dear Panda,
So this is your goal? Good luck! I feel sorry for the one you're married with, and I feel sorry for your children. PS If I were you, I'd love my wife more than God and just live my life. But that's me personally! I see no reason in marrying for God or religion. If I want to marry someone, I'd do it out of love, and not for religious or a traditional reason, and I'm CERTAINLY against polygamy! I condem it as should everybody. As I said before, you should really seek a divorce before you screw it up for your children and for your wife. Maybe polygamy is allowed in Australia, but if you were to do it here in Sweden(Specialy with a Swedish woman), then you'd be jailed and divorced right away. Your "divorce-contract" does not work here either. Anyway, most of all, don't screw it up for your children. Know that your children and your wife are the future, but you're taking away THEIR future by making them depressed.
And I don't believe that a God would ever ask you to commit polygamy. It's just inmoral, and it can't be God/Allah asking you that. God is much more smarter than that. This is what logic tells me. So committing polygamy will never make God happy, it will only make him disappointed. Even you know this. All the muslims I know here condemns polygamy.
"Yet, there are those who chose to worship others beside Allah as rivals to Him, loving them as they should love Allah, but the believers have greater love for Allah" (Qur'an 2165)
more then me you will need good luck with that statement in your post. rotfl
and also please recite your sahada again with full conviction this time, before you leave this world.
any ways good luck with your worldly affairs.
and by the way it is so stupid of you to think I dont love my wife.
and as far as making GOD is happy, I think polygamy and bringing more noble kids to world can be best gift to his creation.
I dont know about you, but I will stick with sunnah of prophet(s) and would try to imitate him all my life, and I will always support his way of life, no matter if whole world is against it.

to be very honest, those who are visiting this website, be careful, in my opinion no matter this forum claims to be QURANIST, but it seems this is more run and operated by non muslims, who are fundamentally against QURAAN and specially with beloved prophet of ISLAM.
PROPHET MUHAMMED(s)
Chapter (3) srat l im'rn (The Family of Imrn)
Sahih International Say, , "If you should love Allah , then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful."

Obeying Messenger and following evil Bukhari / Al-Kafi's books are not the same thing.

Peace to you.
Ahh! I feel so sorry for your wife. Go ahead, marry more girls/women if you think that is allowed in your religion.
By the way, if you do marry, you will first ask for your wife's permission, right? Or do you have a plan to marry without even asking her if she's okay with it?

very intelligent question, and I was expecting this in initials but no one brought this important question.
YES wife permission is MUST.

(my religion is ISLAM, which religion do you follow?)
Peace be unto you.
I apologize, I didn't see this before.
In answer to your question, I'm not a Quranist, or a Sunni, or a Shia, or any other label. I only follow the guidance from the Quran which is the direct of God.
Regards.

Saudi-Arabia is probaly the only country that practises this, but most/all other countries have banned it, because they consider it stupid and primitive.
No, brother. It is not only Saudi Arabia but the rest of Muslim-majority countries too except Turkey, Azerbaijan and Tunisia. I know coz I am living in a Muslim-majority country but not in Arabian Peninsula which also legalized polygamy.
Soon the act will be banned in Saudi-Arabia too, as they will also consider it stupid and primitive. This act is dying, as the world tend to become more civilized.
Yes, I agree! It should be banned worldwide. Well if you read something like "My Journey from Sunnism of Christianity to Islam of Prophet", you'd read that polygyny is commonly practised by a species of baboons.

may be most of people think this is a bad thought and wrong action.
my personal thought is, this is a very noble action if the guy has caliber/love/respect and ability to treat all his wife equally (as prescribed) in QURAN.
Noble? yuck Don't you understand that verse 43, either the true interpretation is marry or marry OFF, is only for being fair to orphans, not to make women as birth machines and personal sx dolls in wedlock. Being fair or not, still doesn't change that this type of polygamy is just making women as personal sx dolls and birth machines in wedlock.
this can solve many social problems and can be also fruitful for ISLAM and HAQ.
Polygyny to solve social problems? This in an insult to female gender because it is like blaming women for social problems..
financially this can be hard to execute, but calling it immoral or degrading with dirty thoughts is absolutely wrong.
Polygyny-for-lust = degrading women
Polygamy according to ISLAM

above link will make sense to you, only if you are Muslim.
Oh I missed this.
You asked me whether I am a Muslim or not but you based your polygamous desire on anti-islamic website. Don't you know that it is an anti-islamic website?

it seems that poligamy pampletarians have a tendency to confuse their identity or their level with those of the prophet.
they tend to be arrogant as fir3awn, or as cocks of the yard, but on the other hand claim rights and dignity as if they were prophets or gad even a shadow of the virtue of prophets. poor deluded things. they will find out in time when not even one wife can put up with them.
typical, braggin for nothing. prophets do not brag.
salaam

Oh dear.... This thread turned upside down. All I've seen from the defendant is the complete lack of justification of marrying more than one wife in the Qur'an. Also a load of conjecture too and directing to biased sites. What makes you say other prophets had multiple wives???? If anything they had one wife but there was a lot of conjecture portraying them to have sex with their slaves of their wife could not have children. You need to get your facts right but problem is when you involve information outside the Qur'an, problems begin to arise...

Ive been reading this thread and am so frustrated, why on earth has no one just told the OP what the Quran says about polygamy? And that is- POLYGAMY IS ONLY ALLOWED WHEN A MAN MARRIES WIDOWED WOMEN WHO HAVE HELPLESS ORPHANS THAT ARE NEEDED TO BE TAKEN CARE OF. AND NOTHING OUTSIDE OF THAT.
There, OP's question has been answered. I don't get why no one just gave the straight answer and let this thread drag so long. Seriously you guys should've just given him this link

Because that is not what the Qur'an says. That aya is not about poligamy nor authorises it. The Qur'an commands to marry the single. So the only possibility for anybody, man or woman to be poligamous were that there were excess of singles. So that a part of the population would be obliged to remain single all their life because there would not be enough of the other sex to go around.
