For the hundredth time - it is written a'raabu. Not arabu. Learn to read you simpleton

      Good finding!

      In verse 9/97 it written as Al a'rabu ( ) not Al-Arab, ul-Arab etc.

If we look the dictionaries the word "Al a'rab" or a'raba has a meaning like "analyze".
So this word can be mean the analyzer, researcher, theorician, scholars if we assume/intepret.

I think it's make sense since some of theoricians may create some theories, innovations which against God's rules/limit/theaching.

Glad for the Quran text has tashkeel on it, so we can dechiper if this verse isn't talking bout Arab (hope so).

      Peace

          Salaam Noon,

I know that the standard explanation is bedouins or nomads, but I think this must be a case of mistranslation. I find it hard to believe that God would call out a single group like that as unbelievers. What, is kufr genetic now? Admittedly the verses do seem to point to bedouins or nomads.

Either way that doesn't change the fact that Jafar is a pathetic racist. Not only does he openly lie about what's in the Quran, but what kind of a person would put that as their signature?? You have to be a real low-life to do something like that.
Of all the verses in the Quran about doing good deeds, forgiveness, humility, prayer, peace, that people normally choose as their signatures - Jafar chooses one that talks badly about a specific group of people. That is the verse he thought was most important.

And I've pointed this out many times as have many others - hence his stubborn addendum to his signature.

And I promise right now that I will derail every single thread he posts in until either the mods remove that signature or ban me.

I would like to note that the group of people called "Al-A3rabu" are not all created equal

"Neither the dwellers of the city (Ahl Al-Madinah), nor the Al-A3rabu around them, shall seek to stay behind the messenger of God (when he mobilizes for war). Nor shall they give priority to their own affairs over supporting him. This is because they do not suffer any thirst, or any effort, or hunger in the cause of God, or take a single step that enrages the disbelievers, or inflict any hardship upon the enemy, without having it written down for them as a credit. God never fails to recompense those who work righteousness. (9120)

Just like not all of the "People of the Book" are created equal
"They are not all the same; among the People of the Book, there are those who are righteous--They recite God's revelations through the night, and they fall prostrate." (3113)

Let me just say one thing. This may just be a fantasy, and I'm not at all saying that this is how it is, so i'm not even speculating.
However, when I read above in this thread the translation of a'aarab into "analyze"... then I felt it made very much sense in one certain way. To ME, "analyze" is connected to "over-think" and "over-analyze", and this is typically something that DISconnects you from God. All brilliant atheists are over-thinkers, having great minds... but unfortunately, God and the invisible world cannot be reached by the mind alone. You can use the mind but actually it is all about experiencing and sensing... something you cannot describe to an atheist. You could say it is of the heart, and not the brain. So, going too deep into pure thinking, over-relying on the mind, will cause you to be blind to many things. Once you're open enough to the unseen world, then you can use your mind to explore, but to ONLY use the mind, will lead nowhere.

Perhaps this is not at all what the verses are talking about, but it still makes total sense to me personally. And the words ahl-al madina sort of ruin the case )

                Peace

I felt the exact same thing Zulf. I've never heard that interpretation before but it made immediate sense.
Inshallah when I have time I'll revisit the a'raab verses again

                    Peace everyone.

3320 that they desert living among the bedouins

Noon, bedouin in Arabic called "badawi" (ba'-da'-waw) not a'rab.
Plus in 3320 the word doesn't means that, but bedouin itself.Even this word isn't a verb.

How about and which was set on same weight as ?

Sorry brother, in which verses both of two words existed?? and I don't understand what you actually mean.

Noon, bedouin in Arabic called "badawi" (ba'-da'-waw) not a'rab.

Bedu and Badawi are modern terms and don't appear in the Quran at all.

On page 251 of Lane's Lexicon the term is explained

                      al-2a3raabu -

is the appellation given to those Arabs who dwell in the desert, such as go about in search of herbage and water; and Az adds, whether of the Arabs or of their freedmen he says that is is applied to those who alight and abide int eh desert, and are neighbours of the dwellers in the desert, and journey, or migrate, with them, to seek after herbage and water.

There aren't even any other explanations given for this word, and it has been interpreted as "desert dwellers" from the beginning in the tafsirs.

In short - Jafar's attempt to make it "the Arabs" is deceitful and racist

Bedu and Badawi are modern terms and don't appear in the Quran at all.

Please visit http//www.baheth.info/ , then type " " in abkhasya/search column and enter.

That site provide Classical dictionaries like Lisan ul Arab, Al Sahaa al Lughaat, Al Qamuss al Makheed and two others.

On page 251 of Lane's Lexicon the term is explained

I hope you didn't get wrong when gave the page number, since I don't find a'rabu in page 251.
I used Lane Lexicon in PDF format.

In short - Jafar's attempt to make it "the Arabs" is deceitful and racist

I hope he clarify soon.Jafar has many knowledges, and possibly he has some hiding understanding by writing that sentence.

Some people may hate Arabs by some circumstances

                        • The Arabs is the creator of Sunni-Shia (mixing of Islam and ancient Arabic cultures)
                        • They often inplemented "Arabization" during spread of Islam (for some liberalist muslim)
                        • Some non-muslim extrimist see Arabic language as language of terrorist (because current terrorism act).

Myself is not hate Arab.Hate some groups is not the main issues I want to archieved/not prospect at all.

                        Peace

You can find the Lane's Lexicon entry here. I misquoted the page number but the definition is exactly as I wrote it down.

Secondly, I speak Arabic and know what badawi and bedu are. Those terms are widely used today. They don't appear in the Quran. Instead the Quran uses al-a3raab

Secondly - do you really think that God took the time to say that the Arabs are the worst unbelievers on this planet when the world is filled with atheists and polytheists and when Muhammad himself was an Arab??

Do you want to turn this into a contest about who has caused most misery? What about the Nazis or the Taleban or Gengis Khan? Would it be reasonable for God to say that "the Afghans are the most in unbelief"? Subhaan Allah

Thirdly - this stuff has been pointed out many times to Jafar. He just ignores it

Fourthly - if you doubt the racist intentions then why do you think he bothered to quote this particular verse as his signature? He couldn't care less about the verses that talk about being a better person, worshipping God, prayer, forgiveness. No - none of that was important to Jafar. What was important to him was to single out Arabs as beneath everyone else.

And, do not cloak (and confuse) the truth with falsehood. Do not suppress the truth knowingly. ( 242)

"The ones who hinder from the path of God, and sought to make it crooked; and with regard to the Hereafter they were rejecters." (745)

Surely, those who distort Our revelations are not hidden from Us. Is one who is thrown into Hell better, or one who comes secure on the Day of Resurrection? Do whatever you wish; He is Seer of everything you do. (4140)

Isn't saying 'desert dwellers' are the worst in rejection and hypocrisy is also racist and hateful?

Yes I agree. That's why I think it needs to be re-analyzed

Although the context of the verses do make it seem like it means "nomads", I have a problem with singling out a specific group of people like this

                                Salaam ths

First I clarify if I'm not hate Arab at all.I have some friends in my country whose had Arabic bloodline (Yemeni Arab).

                                http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arab_Indonesians

Btw thanks for clarify, actually I'm not thorough when searching in Lane.
But be careful if Lane Lexicon isn't entirely provide literal meaning, some of it's explanation contains common intepretation.
Myself even didn't found this word in classical dictionaries.

Now I agree if that word means "nomad", but is that "nomad" is bedouian themself?
