God's Reward System for the Thank-full-(ness)!
-
Being thankful and appreciative to God is very important;
Throughout the Quran we are commanded to be thankful and appreciate what God has given us from our food and water to our eyesight and basic abilities (710, 16114,237There is a system of Reward for those who are thankful/appreciative, as well as consequences for those who turn unappreciative
- Be Appreciative and God will bless you with more, but If you turn Unappreciative, you'll suffer the consequences!
- "Your Lord has decreed "If you are Thankful to me, I will reward you with more; However, if you turn unappreciative, then My retribution is severe."' (147)
A) "In Sheba's homeland there is a Lesson. They enjoyed two gardens on the right and the left; Eat from your Lord's provisions, and be appreciative of HimA good land, and a forgiving Lord! They however, turned away and as a consequence, we poured upon them a disastrous flood, and we substituted their two gardens into two gardens of bad tasting fruits, thorny plants and a skimpy harvest. We thus requited them for their disbelief. Do we not requite only the Unappreciative?" (3415-17)
B) "The good land readily produces its plants by the permission of its Lord, while the bad land barely produces anything useful. We thus explain the revelations for people who are appreciative." (75
C) "Whoever desires the reward of this world - We will give him thereof; and whoever desires the reward of the Hereafter - We will give him thereof. We will reward those who are appreciative" (3145)
- Be Appreciative, and you'll be more likely to be saved from Disasters!
A) "Only Lot's family was saved at dawn; That was a Favor from us! Likewise do we reward the appreciative. (5434-35)
B) "What will God gain from punishing you, if you became appreciative and believed?" (4147)
- Unappreciativeness is a trait of the Devil, and he uses it as a tool to make us unappreciative!
A) "The extravagant spendthrifts are brothers of the Devils, and the Devil is unappreciative of his Lord." (727)
B) "I will come to them from before them, and from behind them, and from their right, and from their left, and You will find that most of them are unappreciative." (717)
- We are commanded to be appreciative... For our own good!
A) "You shall remember Me, that I may remember you. Be Thankful to Me, and do not be unappreciative." (2152)
B) "We enjoined the human being to honor his parents. His mother bore him, with Hardship upon hardship, as It takes two years (of intensive care) until weaning; You shall be appreciative to Me, and to your parents. To Me is the ultimate destiny. (3114)
C) "If you are unappreciative, God does not need anyone. Nevertheless, He dislikes to see His servants make the wrong decision. If you decide to be appreciative, He is pleased for you." (397)

Thank you and I'm appreciative to you for writing such post.
In many books of wisdom (Tanakh, Gospel, Tao The Ching, Githa) there's also many mention of "HUMILITY"/"HUMBLENESS".
God do not guide those who are arrogant and boastful and the main characteristic of "God's true servant" is his humility.
From Siddharta, Jesus, Lao Tse and many others one can easily detect their common traits of "HUMBLENESS".Humility and Appreciation is apparently correlated with each others, I've found a nice essay about it
http//www.rockersinrecovery.org/appreciation-humility/A quote from that essay
Appreciation, a form of gratitude, is such an amazing and beautiful thing. It is a very precious gift many people misunderstand. Many of us misunderstand appreciation for politeness. Saying ?thank you? and ?I appreciate it? are words said often automatically and without feeling because it would be rude to do otherwise. Many of us only say thank you with feeling when someone does something really big for us like loan us money or go out of their way for us in some fashion. What we are neglecting to notice and appreciate are all those ?little? things that people do that are kind and special. The things some people do because it?s who they are not because we ask them to. These very special people go unnoticed and unappreciated too often. It?s time to start letting them know how much of a difference they make in our lives.
In order to begin to see the individuals I?m writing about we must first humble ourselves. It?s time to realize that the world does not owe us anything; nor does anyone else (I was disappointed to discover this too); time to shed of that sense of entitlement. Stop thinking that you?re better than anyone else regardless of how many years of sobriety you have acquired, what your job title is, or how much money you make. If you have degrees and credentials, congratulations; that doesn?t mean that you know everything and have nothing else to learn. No one is ever ?better? than anyone else and no one ?knows it all?. If you identify with any of this, please take a moment. This is not being written to offend or attack anyone. Maybe if this is sparking something within, you are just due for a personal and spiritual tune-up. If you are caught up in yourself, how can you see the beauty around you?
Now that we are humble (or at least have the idea), we can move on to the beautiful and positive. There is a difference in asking someone to do something in which a ?thank you? is expected from both sides or a person who does ?kind? things because they expect gratitude, and someone who goes about their daily lives and has no idea that they are even being ?kind?, ?compassionate?, or ?loving? because they make no effort to do so; they are these things?.THAT is amazing and beautiful. This is a person you may not even really know but lights up a room whenever they walk into it, a friend who is always there to give a shoulder to cry on and you know will always listen without judgment, a significant other who knows you like no other and loves you for all that you are including your faults, an employee at a store who sees you need assistance without you asking and comes to your aid, a mentor, 12 step sponsor, supervisor or professor, or anyone that has ever told you something at just the right moment, believed in you, given you guidance and encouragement?let them know they make a difference. Let anyone who has had any positive affect on your life, big or small, know. This is how you spread joy, love, peace and appreciation.
Salam / Peace

Thank you TheQuranAloneRevolution that was a good read.
And yes it's written as Al-Arabu and not Al-Badawi or Badawiyun..
*For those who had a hard time accepting this fact..For the hundredth time - it is written a'raabu. Not arabu. Learn to read you simpleton
It's amazing that you so stubbornly and ignorantly choose to ignore two different words. There are 2 extra letters in one. Or does that not matter to you? I suppose you can't tell the difference between such similar sounding words as "moron" "maroon" or "loose" "lose" or "choose" "chose". Hey they're kind of similar right?? That's good enough. A'raabu and arabu are kinda sorta close and you happen to be a racist so what the hell. Go with that

Peace,
And it is good that we all love each other.
God bless you

Good finding!
In verse 9/97 it written as Al a'rabu ( ) not Al-Arab, ul-Arab etc.
If we look the dictionaries the word "Al a'rab" or a'raba has a meaning like "analyze".
So this word can be mean the analyzer, researcher, theorician, scholars if we assume/intepret.I think it's make sense since some of theoricians may create some theories, innovations which against God's rules/limit/theaching.
Glad for the Quran text has tashkeel on it, so we can dechiper if this verse isn't talking bout Arab (hope so).

Salaam Noon,
I know that the standard explanation is bedouins or nomads, but I think this must be a case of mistranslation. I find it hard to believe that God would call out a single group like that as unbelievers. What, is kufr genetic now? Admittedly the verses do seem to point to bedouins or nomads.
Either way that doesn't change the fact that Jafar is a pathetic racist. Not only does he openly lie about what's in the Quran, but what kind of a person would put that as their signature?? You have to be a real low-life to do something like that.
Of all the verses in the Quran about doing good deeds, forgiveness, humility, prayer, peace, that people normally choose as their signatures - Jafar chooses one that talks badly about a specific group of people. That is the verse he thought was most important. And I've pointed this out many times as have many others - hence his stubborn addendum to his signature.
And I promise right now that I will derail every single thread he posts in until either the mods remove that signature or ban me.
-
I would like to note that the group of people called "Al-A3rabu" are not all created equal
"Neither the dwellers of the city (Ahl Al-Madinah), nor the Al-A3rabu around them, shall seek to stay behind the messenger of God (when he mobilizes for war). Nor shall they give priority to their own affairs over supporting him. This is because they do not suffer any thirst, or any effort, or hunger in the cause of God, or take a single step that enrages the disbelievers, or inflict any hardship upon the enemy, without having it written down for them as a credit. God never fails to recompense those who work righteousness. (9120)
Just like not all of the "People of the Book" are created equal
"They are not all the same; among the People of the Book, there are those who are righteous--They recite God's revelations through the night, and they fall prostrate." (3113) -

Let me just say one thing. This may just be a fantasy, and I'm not at all saying that this is how it is, so i'm not even speculating.
However, when I read above in this thread the translation of a'aarab into "analyze"... then I felt it made very much sense in one certain way. To ME, "analyze" is connected to "over-think" and "over-analyze", and this is typically something that DISconnects you from God. All brilliant atheists are over-thinkers, having great minds... but unfortunately, God and the invisible world cannot be reached by the mind alone. You can use the mind but actually it is all about experiencing and sensing... something you cannot describe to an atheist. You could say it is of the heart, and not the brain. So, going too deep into pure thinking, over-relying on the mind, will cause you to be blind to many things. Once you're open enough to the unseen world, then you can use your mind to explore, but to ONLY use the mind, will lead nowhere.Perhaps this is not at all what the verses are talking about, but it still makes total sense to me personally. And the words ahl-al madina sort of ruin the case )

However, when I read above in this thread the translation of a'aarab into "analyze"...I felt the exact same thing Zulf. I've never heard that interpretation before but it made immediate sense.
Inshallah when I have time I'll revisit the a'raab verses again -
Peace everyone.
3320 that they desert living among the bedouins
Noon, bedouin in Arabic called "badawi" (ba'-da'-waw) not a'rab.
Plus in 3320 the word doesn't means that, but bedouin itself.Even this word isn't a verb. How about and which was set on same weight as ?
Sorry brother, in which verses both of two words existed?? and I don't understand what you actually mean.
-
Noon, bedouin in Arabic called "badawi" (ba'-da'-waw) not a'rab.
Bedu and Badawi are modern terms and don't appear in the Quran at all.
On page 251 of Lane's Lexicon the term is explained
al-2a3raabu -
is the appellation given to those Arabs who dwell in the desert, such as go about in search of herbage and water; and Az adds, whether of the Arabs or of their freedmen he says that is is applied to those who alight and abide int eh desert, and are neighbours of the dwellers in the desert, and journey, or migrate, with them, to seek after herbage and water.
There aren't even any other explanations given for this word, and it has been interpreted as "desert dwellers" from the beginning in the tafsirs.
In short - Jafar's attempt to make it "the Arabs" is deceitful and racist
-
Bedu and Badawi are modern terms and don't appear in the Quran at all.
Please visit http//www.baheth.info/ , then type " " in abkhasya/search column and enter.
That site provide Classical dictionaries like Lisan ul Arab, Al Sahaa al Lughaat, Al Qamuss al Makheed and two others.
On page 251 of Lane's Lexicon the term is explained
I hope you didn't get wrong when gave the page number, since I don't find a'rabu in page 251.
I used Lane Lexicon in PDF format. In short - Jafar's attempt to make it "the Arabs" is deceitful and racist
I hope he clarify soon.Jafar has many knowledges, and possibly he has some hiding understanding by writing that sentence.
Some people may hate Arabs by some circumstances
- The Arabs is the creator of Sunni-Shia (mixing of Islam and ancient Arabic cultures)
- They often inplemented "Arabization" during spread of Islam (for some liberalist muslim)
- Some non-muslim extrimist see Arabic language as language of terrorist (because current terrorism act).
Myself is not hate Arab.Hate some groups is not the main issues I want to archieved/not prospect at all.
Peace
-
You can find the Lane's Lexicon entry here. I misquoted the page number but the definition is exactly as I wrote it down.
Secondly, I speak Arabic and know what badawi and bedu are. Those terms are widely used today. They don't appear in the Quran. Instead the Quran uses al-a3raab
Secondly - do you really think that God took the time to say that the Arabs are the worst unbelievers on this planet when the world is filled with atheists and polytheists and when Muhammad himself was an Arab??
Do you want to turn this into a contest about who has caused most misery? What about the Nazis or the Taleban or Gengis Khan? Would it be reasonable for God to say that "the Afghans are the most in unbelief"? Subhaan Allah
Thirdly - this stuff has been pointed out many times to Jafar. He just ignores it
Fourthly - if you doubt the racist intentions then why do you think he bothered to quote this particular verse as his signature? He couldn't care less about the verses that talk about being a better person, worshipping God, prayer, forgiveness. No - none of that was important to Jafar. What was important to him was to single out Arabs as beneath everyone else.
And, do not cloak (and confuse) the truth with falsehood. Do not suppress the truth knowingly. ( 242)
"The ones who hinder from the path of God, and sought to make it crooked; and with regard to the Hereafter they were rejecters." (745)
Surely, those who distort Our revelations are not hidden from Us. Is one who is thrown into Hell better, or one who comes secure on the Day of Resurrection? Do whatever you wish; He is Seer of everything you do. (4140)
-
Isn't saying 'desert dwellers' are the worst in rejection and hypocrisy is also racist and hateful?
-
Salaam ths
First I clarify if I'm not hate Arab at all.I have some friends in my country whose had Arabic bloodline (Yemeni Arab).
http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arab_Indonesians
Btw thanks for clarify, actually I'm not thorough when searching in Lane.
But be careful if Lane Lexicon isn't entirely provide literal meaning, some of it's explanation contains common intepretation.
Myself even didn't found this word in classical dictionaries. Now I agree if that word means "nomad", but is that "nomad" is bedouian themself?
