    peace plato2,

You are essentially talking about using one verse and not considering it's context or using other verses. Anyone can take one statement or verse out of context and use it to justify whatever they desire - this is sometimes done to convince a lay audience.

If however, you want to follow Quran in its entirety, then one must consider all verses. Further reading

The golden rule in Quran when it comes to fighting/war is one can only retaliate with equivalence or less. If peace is an option, this option must be taken. If anyone asks for your protection you must protect them.

I agree. This problems arises when we fail to connect all the verses concerning an issue together.

When the Qur'an says the apostles of Muhammad are merciful to believers and harsh to disbelievers and command Muslims to wage jihad against disbelievers. I don't know much about Islam so may be someone could refute how ISIS go against Qur'an, because to me it seems like they are the ones following Islam properly whereas the "good" Muslims are not.

        Salamun alaikum.

The core message of Qur?an is to teach mankind to be slave to Allah alone ? not to associate any partner with Him. In other words the book suggests us to accept our inner sense of justice and morality (called conscience) as our solemn obligation to the supreme authority who endowed us with the gift of life. This is reiterated hundreds of times in Qur?an by urging us to be conscious (muttaquin) and to act appropriately (amalu salehin).

A man associates (shirk) partner with Allah when he represses (k-f-r) his God-gifted conscience and intellect in favor of some man made image/hypothesis about God - be it one God or many gods. For example an ISIS/boko haram soldier who is killing civilians without any ?right? (i.e. due process to ensure justice) is acting against his God-gifted conscience (sense of right and wrong) to be slave to a manmade "concept" of "Allah", i.e. a deity above the skies waiting for his chosen people to establish his rule on earth. So he is associating this man-made "concept" of "Allah" as partner of the true God who gave him the sense of right and wrong in the first place. In true sense he is being slave to his masters who brainwashed him to commit these heinous acts ? rather than being slave to the Master of the universe who endowed him with his independent judgment and intellect.

On this basis, an ISIS soldier performing a ?human sacrifice? to please the deity-in-heaven (tagoot) that he worships is no different from a pagan idol worshiper performing a ?human sacrifice? to please his cult?s god. Just because ISIS soldiers? God has an Arabic name which happens to be a homonym to the name of the Master of the universe in Qur?an ? it does not make them any less pagan.

How does ISIS violate the Qur?an? They violate the Qur?an by standing against anything and everything the Qur?an stands for.

"Faith" (Iman) is not blindly following what's written in some book - or what is said by some wise guy; that's how deafs, dumbs and blinds are expected to act! "Faith" is accepting our inner sense of justice, sense of morality as our solemn obligation to the supreme authority who endowed us with the gift of life; and relying on that supreme authority to establish justice for us for taking the right moral choices - either in this life or on the last day. Every messenger of Allah came with the same message, every book of Allah conveys this same message - the Qur'an is not an exception.

May Allah guide us to the straight route and help us against the people of faith repressors.

        Regards,
        Arman

Indeed they are void of sound judgment just as you say, Armanaziz. Perhaps you did not confess intentionally, but you indirectly, maybe unwillingly supported the concept that kafar stands for "void of sound judgment" which I have been researching for some time.

Thanks for your responses, I want to become a practising Muslim, but I don't know where to go. There are not many Muslims where I live, especially not Quranists. And how can you reject Hadiths and be a Muslim, when there are over 100 verses in the Qur'an telling you to obey the Messenger?

The messenger was alive and could give orders, and those who heard them had to follow them, just as all the previous prophets had to be obeyed when giving orders by comand of God.

The prophet cannot give us now any orders. Whatever we did would be hearsay. The prophet is not here now, he cannot judge of our problems or solutions and he cannot talk to us.

But the Wur'an is with us and it is a guide, we may use that guide and think for ourselves following that guide that the messenger transmitted for all time, but the messenger did not transmit anything else. He did not. People may haver remembered things he said, better or worse, but we do not know, we cannot know whether they did or not or if thee didi tell something there is not hint whatsoever that God meant that for us. What -God meant to be trnasmitted was the Qur'an and it has been trnasmitted. Praise be on God and praise be on the messenger that did such magnificent work of trnasmission.

              Salaam

And how can you reject Hadiths and be a Muslim, when there are over 100 verses in the Qur'an telling you to obey the Messenger?

Salaam, when I was searching and was confused how to leave the Hadiths when Qur'an says to follow the messenger, i saw verses in Qur'an. GOD says he gave the messenger the scripture, so following messenger means to follow what he brought, the scripture. God also says he couldn't utter any other teachings. Otherwise, he would not be a messenger and get killed. However, Hadiths outside Qur'an contradict Qur'an, so how can it be possible he could say those teachings in Hadiths?
Some links if you find them useful. You can verify yourself http//www.quran-islam.org/articles/a_dozen_reasons_(P1153).html

                http//www.quran-islam.org/main_topics/misinterpreted_verses/obey_god(P1245).html

Also, whatever God tells the messenger to tell the people is recorded in Qur'an as well. They are authentic unlike the Hadiths Like
                WHAT ABOUT OBEYING THE MESSENGER?

The gravest crime the self-appointed scholars who claimed to be Muslim made was to give authority to the traditions (Sunna) and the books of Sayings (Hadith) ALONGSIDE the authority of God and His messenger. They believe that it was God who authorized such action by commanding the people to ?obey God, and obey the messenger??

"Whoever obeys the messenger has obeyed God; and whoever turns away, We have not sent you as a guardian over them." (Qur'an 480)

What is so sadly neglected is that the most critical aspects of the messenger?s life have been recorded and captured in the most detailed manner?not in the books of Hadith or tradition?but in the Holy Book itself. The questions that he was asked, and the answers (inspired by God) that he gave

"They ask you about intoxicants and gambling. Say 'In them is great harm, and a benefit for mankind; but their harm is greater than their benefit.' And they ask you how much are they to give, Say 'The excess.' It is thus that God clarifies for you the revelations that you may think." (Qur'an 2219)

"And they ask you concerning the Spirit. Say 'The Spirit is from the command on my Lord, and the knowledge you were given was but very little.'" (Qur'an 1785)

The list of questions and answers goes on throughout the Book of God?This is the life of the Messenger, and this is the ?obedience? of the messenger?Without ?obeying the messenger?, we would inadvertently ignore nearly 1/3 of the Book of God which deals with his most authentic narrations authorized and inspired by God which we have been commanded to follow?

?Nor does he speak from personal desire. It is a divine inspiration." (Qur'an 533-4)

                    Peace plato.

I am not sure about the term "practicing Muslim" or its meaning?

I would have thought either one is a "Muslim" or not!!!

                    Now;
First what is a "Muslim" according to Qoran? This needs to be checked before you set on your journey.

Second if one wants to become a "Muslim" it has nothing to do with anyone else. No one else benefits except the one becoming a "Muslim" . i.e The favour is for the self only not for others.

Thirdly if one wants to become a "Muslim" it is between him and the Creator Alone. No intermediaries .There is a direct line of contact . No authority/ies exist between you and your Creator.

Fourth if one wants to become a "Muslim" he/she will be tried by the Creator to check their sincerity. To bring out their true conviction.

Fifth, if one wants to become a "Muslim" there should be total loyalty and trust on the Creator. No idol worship. One needs to follow the "Word of God" and not the "Word of men"? Finding out which is which is very important.Check all information use your eyes, ears and brain and seek your Creator s guidance.

Good luck with your journey if you embark.

                    GOD bless you.
                    Peace.

This is exactly what I feel how ISIS violates the Quran.

Like all terrorists, they interpret Allah's verses literally- especially what many people would perceive as "violent verses".For example,

Moses said to his people, ?My people, you have wronged yourselves by worshipping the calf, so repent to your Maker and kill you. That is the best you can do in the eyes of your Maker.? He accepted your repentance He is the Ever Relenting and the Most Merciful. (254)

Most of those without sound judgement will interpret as "Suicide," when in fact they forget that Allah never commands evil/bad things so people with hikmah (wisdom) applied would understand it as fighting against the evil desire that the Satan invites mankind to embrace.

Because they suppress their God given basic-intellect, they've lost the chance to spiritually evolve further so they become blinded as they continue to commit acts of evil, (disease increasing in their hearts).

Also about the sacrifice humans thing that ISIS is doing is exactly what the pagans did.

Their god could as well be baal. A materially comprehensible god compared to Allah which means 'is that it is' which may translate to something which simply exists, no precepts and no beginning or end. The more you materialize God into an object the worse your god becomes.

                          Peace,

"ISIS" follows conjecture/other books, killing people = bad, especially according the Quran.

Problem of ''ISIS'', they like to kill..
