:: What to believe? ::
-
Peace,
I have some questions, basically it is a single question.
1- Do we need to believe in all messengers and prophets? Why?
2- Do we need to believe in all books of Allah? Why?
3- Do we need to believe in malaaika? Why?The basic question is why we need to believe anyone or anything when we believe in Allah. Believing in Allah alone is not enough? After all there will be only Allah and any ONE of us in standing in front of Him alone . So, where they all come in picture? I don't see any reason in believing the above mentioned beside Allah.
May Allah increase our knowledge and guide us on His path pr

I wanna ask you something, what you mentioned about ibrahim is very nice and logic says to follow your point of view. However, who told you that Ibrahim has no earlier book to follow or a messenger or receive guidance?
If you are talking about Quran that it is mentioned about Ibrahim and how he come to know God when he sees the sun and the moon etc, then how come you believe the part of Ibrahim from Quran and not the rest of Quran (which talks about Muhammad and the books and angels ..).
If there is another source of history book that you have which base your knowledge about Ibrahim (not having a book or previous religion to follow) then please share with us.I hope you know what I meant to say....
cheers
Peace bro,
Red If you read my previous posts inshaAllah you will get the answer for this part of your post. I still believe in alQuraan.
Blue I don't believe any book on earth as haqq. So, no history books at all.Do you know anything about "alHuda"? I am actually talking about it when I mentioned Ibrahim.

365 ?O adherents to the Decree, why do you debate with us regarding Abraham when the Torah and the Gospel were not sent down except after him? Do you not comprehend??
The Torat(eh) (literally instruction linguistically) is all the instructions that were given to the "Tribe of Israel" subsequently as they were brought out of captivity in Mesr (traditionally Egypt) and they were chosen to safeguard this (which they failed most of the time). The term 'Jew' stems from this selection, although anyone can be a 'Jew' since it basically means someone has guidance and can provide it. But Abraham was not a Jew
367 Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Nazarene, but he was a monotheist who had faith; he was not of the polytheists.
Abraham approached "God"/Allah spiritually and through his own cleverness but also an exemplary character of being very humble and kind such as a person with faith should be. This is how he got near "God", he did not have a scripture, heck a written script barely even existed during that time several thousand years ago. Same as now, people can approach "God" themselves and the scriptural material is a comfort for a person with faith since you can read how "God" was with people in the past and find inspiration. And the decree never changes, you can practice 'Torateh' and it is perfectly valid just as if you read 'Qur'an'. And it is also perfectly possible that one learns the ways of "God" without putting their eyes upon a scripture as long as they stick away from the conjecture of men just as Abraham did. It is just that intelligence of Abraham which brought him towards the role he has in the history of the faith. A prophet that emerges in a community with all its falsehood must find his way through there and Abraham did as he aged. Finally he even burst out in activism against his father and his people. That was a good man. He was not seduced by conjecture even if that was the standard of his community just as sectarian "Islam" with all its Pagan influences is all you see of the faith he could see through it.
In 367 you could as well add 'Muslim' to the narration and it would be just the same, no distortion. But that was simply not contemporary with the prophet then who advocated about coming to faith which the word 'Muslim' actually means (and not submission as people erroneously suggest). It is not wonder why it has become synonymous with peace or harmony or whatever, because faith is confidence, tranquility, peace etc.
One thing puzzles me and that is how people can say that salam can mean peace/harmony and on the other side submission. That is beyond me. The answer is simple, the word can be settled at "faith". It means not submission but assimilation and confidence. How often did not Jesus in the Biblical scriptures not say "Have faith!" plain and simple?
Take this example
2131 When his Lord said to him ?Be faithful,? he said ?I am faithful to the Lord of the worlds.?
2132 And Abraham enjoined his sons and Jacob ?O my sons, God has selected the concept for you, so do not die except as ones who are faithful.?
The word used is A-salam where the alef means the state of being and since it is an expression it means that the dialog implies that one should "be + salam". And the following word is L'rabb, i.e. to rabb (Lord). It is awkward to insert submit here and then continuously translate it as peace/harmony in the rest of the narration. It does not add up alone. With this the argument is as good as killed.
Note Translations are with corrections in bold.
If you are talking about Quran that it is mentioned about Ibrahim and how he come to know God when he sees the sun and the moon etc, then how come you believe the part of Ibrahim from Quran and not the rest of Quran (which talks about Muhammad and the books and angels ..).
If there is another source of history book that you have which base your knowledge about Ibrahim (not having a book or previous religion to follow) then please share with us.Prophets with insight wrote the narrations without having been there, that is part of their insight into the realm of "God". Abraham for quite some time after his demise must also have been the topic of hearsay and there are many false narratives about Abraham around as well. The prophet of Qur'an may have received the actual text through inspiration from "God" in such a manner that it is based on "God" and not on the conjecture of men. Hence Abraham might not have written a single book in his whole life nor Noah from before him or those few prior to that. Written language was not even invented at a certain era of prophets but the stories of their ancestors went from mouth to mouth. And it does not help if it is verbal or written lore because both mediums are exposed to severe falsehood that circles around and even in the very interpretations as something as prime as Qur'an. And if written language was available it was not accessible by most people since they were illiterate and depending on someone else to read for them and books were not really on sale 2000-3000 years ago so that you could go down to the local bookstore and buy one. Books were rare and mostly wealthy people generally had access to them and you know what usually happens to wealthy people?
Be of one with "God"

Peace brother,
Please check the above post. And remember Ibrahim in the book, he was not having any book, any messenger or anyone to guide him towards Allah. This is the reason he got the title of "wa maa kaana min almushrikeena" he never became among them who does shirk. And also got a title of hanifa, where no body is needed.
So, as per my understanding leaving everything or everyone and focus towards Allah alone may help us to reach these titles, inshaAllah.

we have to keep away from our minds the following
• parents
• sons/daughters
• brothers/sisters
• spouse
• relatives
• the wealth you have saved
• the business you fear a loss
• the houses you live in pride
these things should never be very dear to us. this is the start of Allah alone. .

Peace ? it?s degree of dearness not desertion.
924 say if be fathers yours and sons yours and brothers yours and spouses yours and relatives yours and wealth that have acquired ye of and commerce thou fearing decline its and housing thou delight it dearer toward you from the god and messenger his and striving in way his so wait ye of until comes the god by command his and the god not guides the folk the disobedient

peace noon,
Peace ? it?s degree of dearness not desertion.
the meaning i took was not 'desertion'. pl. note that i have said "keep away from our minds", "never be very dear". meaning, when it comes to living in righteousness i.e, to choose between Allah and others (924) - these mentioned in 924 will surely be an obstacle. They are the test blocks for any individual for Allah alone. All the problems in this world start with these root causes from single individual who is dearer to one or all the eight. if the dearness is Allah alone then there are no problems. nearness to Allah alone is possible only with the help of Allah, He make us pass the test one by one all eight.
i do not mean we should desert them. though we are very near physically to them, we should wish to keep our minds very near only to Allah alone. give them from what you are given. make them rely on Allah not on you or anything else. this will be a difficult task if we keep them (eight) dearer than Allah. dearer to them (eight) will make us blind and deaf to righteousness. (8 things)will never allow to become dearer to Allah. if we are dearer to Allah, He will bring the five relations and three material needs nearer to us. if we make them dearer to us we are only bringing problems to us and the others.
your example 128 - said by the disbelieving brothers. they do not know their father is living by 924. Yacob knows their disbelieving at that point of time, he keeps them away from his heart, his heart is very near only to Allah. this gives him the strength when he was told your son Yusuf is lost. He relies only on Allah, though he is living with his disbelieving sons.
another example refer the wise man who Musa meets near the junction of the two seas. he kills the young boy for saving the boy's parents. the boy's parents who are righteous are very dearer to him. this dearness is a weak point for the boy to be used against his parents in the future. so he was killed by the wise man - Allah's will. one lesson from this is if believers take anything (eight) dearer than Allah and His messenger, Allah's command is executed to keep the believers nearer to Him. Allah knows we do not know.
i see evidence from my life and from the lives around me for 924.
peace

peace bender,
924
salaam,
See the answer of Noon. Let me give an example of how I see 924
We can love our son/daughter as much as we like, actually the more the better BUT we have to be always just. We should never choose the side of our daughter/son when we know that justice is not on their side. If we do that then we have not choosen for Allah but for our children. For the other verse 128 The father of yusuf loved yusuf more because Yusuf was just and his brothers where bad guys. The father of Yusuf was a good father.
Anyway this is how I understand, I may be totally wrong.

I mean believing like believing in you or a computer or internet is OK. But if you don't believe in them you will go to hell. My question was believing as in blue, do we need to believe like this if we believe in Allah alone? Or believing in Allah alone is enough.
It is hard not to believe in something which you have witnessed. If a messenger comes to me with a message from Allah, I will believe in both in Allah and in the messenger, how is it even possible to deny the messenger if you believe in his message? Would be strange to say "Yo messenger I totally belief in every word you had with you but I don't believe in you, I believe in Allah alone".
Should we belief in things we have not witnessed?
That's a more difficult question.
I do not believe in angels like in the movies but I believe in malaikats, I do not know exactly what they are or who they are are but I believe in a book which mentions to my idea some creatures called malaikats so I do believe in them even without knowing exactly what or who they are.May Allah bless you pr
