I respected pazuzu with his work on Yemen which I accepted, so it is a deep shock to me to see him taking on the Flat Earthers concept, because it puts all his effort on Yemen in jeopardy.
I feel for this because I have been advertising his essays on twitter on the matter, and arguing for what he wrote.
There is no way I will do such a thing with Flat Earth because I deeply disagree with it.
I do not act as a groupie to someone, I act on what I figured out for myself, Flat Earth is not convincing to me, and it is too much ridiculed to start evangelising for it, whereas there are more important matters to deal with now on Earth, flat, concave or round.
Waste your time away discussing Flat Earth, and encouraging others believing it, I am not one of them.
Let me tell what happened between me and brother mmkhan. I had this animosity towards him because of some thread. Thereafter, i lambasted him on one of his thread with regards to the Prophet. Sometime later thru my research, ALLAH shown me something with regards to the Prophet. I found that ALLAH, by showing me the true Quranic Muhammad, in a way also telling me that mmkhan is right to a certain extent.
Now, I respect mmkhan even more. He is knowledgeable and wise. what i m trying to say is that we need to get rid of the animosity and negative taughts. Just because what someone say does not fit to the present environment, he is talking trash. This will only end us up into the sectarian choices of doctrine, like the sunni, shiite...etc., First, they lambast each other and later kill each other!
With this bless month of Ramadhan, may THE ALMIGHTY bless with the best of everything in both worlds pr

There are so many questions and gaps they have not filled to make Flat Earth a viable model, at least the round Earth model was thought through with mathematical models in use since antiquity, and even though it was not the norm to believe the Earth is round, many thinkers since antiquity hypothesised the Earth is round as opposed to flat.
As the story goes, it took the sacrifice of Galileo Galilei to change the tide from flat to round with telescopic observations made available in his time.
It will take a tremendous effort, and very ingenious minds to reframe everything within a Concave or Flat Earth model, which again will be an approximation, at the moment there is no interest in that, because the Science community prefers, favours and see the Planetary model as correct.

Has anyone ever considered the word in Quran used for earth may not always refer to 'planet earth' but has a rather broad linguistic meaning of 'land/soil/ground/terrain' as well?
In my understanding its even used more encompassing in some verses as 'matter', being opposed to non-matter. Especially in those verses where it is mentioned in contrast to 'the Heavens'.

No, this should not come as a surprise. People tend to compartmentalize, and take everything in packages. They don?t know how to judge each piece of information based on its own merits.
Like when a Shia Muslim tells me that a female can claim the right to 100% of the inheritance if she is a lone child, and her uncles should not get a penny, I will agree because that is what the Quran says. But when he starts boasting about the ?Ahlul-Bayt? and how God ordained that some man by the name of ?Ali? be the successor to Muhammad, I will ignore him and walk away.
When a Salafi tells me the Earth is flat, I will shake his hand. But when he starts lecturing me about prophetic medicine, the benefits of camel urine, or the proper length of the male attire, I will politely ask him to piss off.
When a Christian talks about the circle of the Earth, and the firmament above it, I will listen. But when he tells me Jesus died for our sins, and how a two-day old baby needs to be baptized, I will have none of it.
If you are so interested in gravity, maybe you should study Physics, as you need to use tools and experiment to prove or disprove a theory, and the tools are knowledge and apparatus of experimentation.
With all due respect, but what you refer to as GRAVITY is in fact an assumption, not a proven reality. It is a theory. I advise you to put aside your bias towards the mainstream, politically-correct scientists and to read and hear what other physicists have said and continue to say about this (I will provide for you the links soon).
What you fail to realize is that GRAVITY, as a concept, is necessary in order for their false paradigm to fit together. How else can they explain to the sheeple of the world how gigantic bodies of water can remain curved and hanging upside down?
From childhood, they drill into our heads such concepts as GRAVITY, PLANETS, RELATIVITY, BLACK HOLES, SATELLITES, MOON LANDING, etc..., until they are so engrained in our consciousness, that they become no different than religious dogma.
When an object falls to the ground, it falls due to its own volition, and because of properties that are inherent to the object itself (mass or density relative to air), not because of some theoretical and unproven force in the Earth that pulls the object down to it. This is why hot air rises (not because it has defied GRAVITY, but because its density is less than the density of the air around it). And this is why ships float (because their density is less than the density of the water which they are displacing).
Their convoluted theory of GRAVITY has no place at all in this phenomenon. However, it suit them because with it, they can pass their lie regarding the moon landing, and the other ?planets?. (Oh, we tried this experiment on the moon, where GRAVITY is much smaller than on Earth, and we will try it on Mars as well, when we get there, since we can estimate that the GRAVITY there is whatever).
But the fact remains They never went to the moon, nor did they see any other planet up close, let alone walk or land any vehicles on them. Their hoaxes have been exposed to those who have eyes, and the world is slowly waking up to their shit-eating and their deceptions. This is the law of God regarding all those who want to mask the truth.

Directly after this trip, Byrd is hosted on a nervous, televised interview, wherein he makes cryptic statements about the world suddenly ?shrinking?, and that the ?national security of America can no longer rely on its isolation?, and then speaks of an enormous land mass, located on a 2-mile high plateau, larger than USA, filled with natural resources (including uranium, coal, oil) that no man has set foot upon!
2- From 1955 to 1956, Byrd leads Operation Deep Freeze to Antarctica, amid repeated questions by the press as to why all the attention is being directed to the ?South Pole?, when the USA should mind the north Pole, where their Russian ?enemies? are close by. Then, suddenly, out of the blue, the mission just stops. No explanation is given.
3- The Antarctica Treaty is signed, which states that the land shall not be owned by any country in the world, and bans all corporations from approaching it, despite the fact the Byrd claimed it had enough natural resources to satisfy the entire world demand. Is this normal?
To this day, the so-called ?interior? of Antarctica is OFF LIMITS. There is a line that the military will not let anyone cross. They will only allow tours of the outer islands, and the isthmus near Australia.

Ardh means literally what "is solidly visible" and refers to the world as it is. It is a general expression for the world and land around you including what is on it.
The commonly used word in English is probably derived from that word a long time ago, i.e. Earth.
Matter is probably in the word that refers to thing or matter.

Yes ardh can also mean land, with plural aradhi, lands, as always it depends on the context of the verse.
but when it refers to Earth, it uses the definite article, Al Al Ardh.
there is also a verse, I cannot recall which, landing itself to mean that Allah created Earth and several others like it.
the model pazuzu is pushing is an infinite plane of ice, with domes protruding, each being an Earth, it is interesting, even fascinating, but not supported by evidence or mathematical / physical models...

all theoretical models have their limits, density and force are closely linked, we can measure force, it is a good model to predict phenomena, and most our industries are based on it, there is also electricity, magnetism, etc, all accounted for...
similarly, the flat earth model is also an approximation.

As you claimed yourself an ex scientist, would you please tell me which parts of science and technologies will collapse if we believe that the earth is flat? Does the missile, airplane,rocket,telephone,satellite TV technologies have anything to do with flat earth or round earth?
We are only claiming that THE EARTH IS FLAT. We are not throwing science or scientific approach.I believe that FLAT EARTH is the best logical & rational approach toward science.One should keep in mind that, The spherical earth model has not established over night. Why are there volcanoes? Why do they erupt?
Volcanoes are just a natural way that the Earth and other planets have of cooling off and releasing internal heat and pressure.
Volcanoes erupt because of density and pressure. The lower density of the magma relative to the surrounding rocks causes it to rise (like air bubbles in syrup). It will rise to the surface or to a depth that is determined by the density of the magma and the weight of the rocks above it. As the magma rises, bubbles start to form from the gas dissolved in the magma. The gas bubbles exert tremendous pressure. This pressure helps to bring the magma to the surface and forces it in the air, sometimes to great heights.
It's sort of like the bubbles of gas in a bottle of soda. Before you open the soda you don't see many bubbles because the pressure in the bottle keeps the gas dissolved in the soda. When you open the bottle the pressure is released and the gas bubbles leave the soda. If you shake up the bottle first, the soda gets pushed out by the bubbles of gas as they rush out.
You might try this, but do it outside...
Why Do Earthquakes Happen?
Earthquakes are usually caused when rock underground suddenly breaks along a fault. This sudden release of energy causes the seismic waves that make the ground shake. Try this little experiment
Break a block of foam rubber in half.
Put the pieces on a smooth table.
Put the rough edges of the foam rubber pieces together.
While pushing the two pieces together lightly, push one piece away from you along the table top while pulling the other piece toward you. See how they stick?
Keep pushing and pulling smoothly.Soon a little bit of foam rubber along the crack (the fault) will break and the two pieces will suddenly slip past each other. That sudden breaking of the foam rubber is the earthquake. That's just what happens along a strike-slip fault.
