    peace to all,

I was just wondering, if the soul also have sex difference as we have physicaly ? As we get used to think according to this meterial world, it also makes us think of the after life the same way of this worl. So My question is when we will be in our pure form than will we have any sex difference ?

I think this might help us a lot to understand our physical differences and how we can react towards eachother.

    peace

      Peace be upon you,

My reflecting on that subject would lead me to say no, there will be no differentation of any kind. We come from ONE and are made into many, only to return to the ONE. The ONE is indivisible, so there can be no distinction.

          Peace be upon you SA,

The allegorical garden starts here on this earth. So we should be looking for those rewards right now based on our treatment of our NAFS(mind), have we purified it or corrupted it?

True, perhaps others have more to say regarding this.

                Salaam Shams, Kyle, All,

The Nafs comes in a pair the nafs and its pair Zaowj as read in ,
                , .
And of course you do know that a pair can't be identical. The pair complete each other just like the pair of shoes, for example. There are similarities, naturally, but the differences are a must.

The soul reminds you of the twin existence and admonishes you regarding each.

                    Peace be upon you all,

I am not sure all of us are talking about the same thing, or maybe I am just not following.

Divisions of the mind/soul/spirit(whatever you want to call the nafs) can happen the same way cells divide, it does not mean that it has to have a sexual gender. In fact, "nafs" if feminine and rightly so because it RECIEVES things, which is the feminine principle.

                      Salaam Kyle and All,

You are absolutely right! First, we have to agree on which means what!
Since Al Rooh is something that belongs to Allah and only Allah knows what it is, then it cannot be explained nor translated, so I suggest that we leave it as it is and refrain from discussing it!

Al Nafs is one and its pair was created from it as the Ayat indicate and it's two sides complete each other like night and day, male and female, yin and yang, etc..

Now, I don't think that the mind is the Nafs. I think that the mind is neutral and is found in both the Nafs and in its pair equally the same.
The mind is the thinking machine and it doesn't stop at right or wrong but the Nafs does, so the Nafs is the one to control the mind.

                      What are your thoughts?

                      Taj

If there were no men I think the human race would come to an end as well, unless Allah decided upon some other processes for human developement. As of now, I see that both the male and female are needed.

I'm sure it says in the Quran that we will be reuinted with past loved ones, so recognition is a factor here, which means there will be a discernable difference between each of us in the afterlife, but that doesnt mean it is physical, though it may be, we cant know that. Yet.

What I find very interesting is how it is explained in the Quran that after death, human beings will be transformed into something else, so you cant say Islam is against evolution! D

What always makes me ponder, is what happens after we enter Paradise or Hell? Is that it? What next!? Its always on my mind. Though I guess time is relative so, I dont know. Immortality is better than extinction at any rate, the thought of not existing anymore is depressing beyond words.

So anyway, thank you God for making me exist! Praise be to Allah and peace upon the Muslims.

                              Ok? Ok.

                                Peace be upon you Taj,

I disagree with your conclusion on the matter of "Al ruh", but I have not mentioned that on this thread, and if we discuss it , it should have a thread of its own.

Al Nafs is one and its pair was created from it as the Ayat indicate

                                Correct.

and it's two sides complete each other like night and day, male and female, yin and yang, etc..

Where is this part indicated? I see that from the NAFS came many men and women, but that does not mean that the NAFS themselves are male of female. Please elaborate.

The nafs cannot control the mind, the reason is that the God says He does not change the condition of a people UNTIL they change what is in thier NAFS(mind). If the Nafs was to control the "mind", how could we change what is in our NAFS? That would be impossible. But if we take NAFS to be the mind(which is one of the definitions in Arabic dictionary), then we can see how we use our MINDS to change our conditions.

I am talking about the FEMALE PRINCIPLE, not the gender "female". There is a "give" and "take" all over the universe. The God is teaching us about this with the use of ALL MALE CAST of "messengers". This is the SEED. The story of Mariam, the mother of Isa, is teaching us about the MIND. It goes to a place far off away from traditional thought, and recieves the SEED from the spirit of the God, and the MIND brings forth the WORD of the God. When questioned about our new understanding, we do not speak of our own, but we point to the WORD, which is the best argument.

Human beings actually have both principles within them, male and female.

D , well we know that the God is omnipresent, so "He" is definetly in "relativity", but the God is THAT which percieves, but cannot be percieved, so we can never know.
