People imitate, yes, but much is also driven by the instinct and the Homo Sapiens have a tendency to enjoy violence due to thrill of the domination and sight of domination and apparently the feeling of being dominated is also arousing.
And I doubt it has emerged recently but has been present for many years. Such sexual fantasies have probably been in the minds of people for centuries. It is now mirrored in such as media.

Allah does not care what we do in bed, i had girlfriends before i became muslim and believe me most of them are beasts in bed. And actually i did like that too, so it is not media and it is not pornographic. I tell you that most girls like it when you pull their hair. My argument is against the idea that these pseudo-violent "rape-like" sexual desires are actually innate desires present within all human beings.

I very much doubt that you know th for a fact. But I can understand that if somebody is seriously disturbed in the sense he or she would like people to believe that so that he or she can pass as "normal".
