WOMEN HEAD GARMENT
Corrupters claim that the head garment commanded to women by God should be of a certain fabric, wore in a certain way, a certain color, etc. All those absurd ideas do not come from the Quran.
3359 O prophet! Tell to your wives and your daughters, and women the believers(m) YuDNYN (they bring close/ draw) over them of JaLABYBHuN (their outer garments), this ADNY (closer) that Yu?RaFN (they recognized, known), then not YWDHYN (they be harassed, offended, harmed), and is God Forgiving, Merciful.
Verse 359 is the only verse talking about the head garment. However, there is no detailed description of how it should be. Therefore, color, shape, and type of fabric seem to be left open to the discretion of women. Also, there is nothing indicating that it must cover the face, both eyes, one eye, or that it must cover the head down to the waist; these irrational ideas are all sectarian inventions. Furthermore, if the head garment were to be understood as covering the face, it would create a contradiction with 3353.
3353 o those who have believed, not shall you enter houses the prophet, except that he allows to you over a meal, GHaYR (other than/different to) NAZiRYN (ones that are expecting / waiting/ looking forward) ANAHu (for he/it), WaLaKiN (and to be) when Du?YTuM (you have been invited), Fa-ADKHuLWA (then you shall enter), then when Ta?aMTuM (you have eaten) you shall disperse, and not MuSTANSYN (ones that sit/ linger) Li-HaDYTH(to talk/for stories), verily DHaL-KuM (your behavior) KAN (was) YWDHY (he/it offending) the prophet, Fa-YaSTaHYY (but he is being Shy) of You, And God not YaSTaHYY (He is being shy) of the truth, and when SALTuMWHuN (you have to ask them(f)) MaTA?A (provisions, household objects) Fa-ASALWHuN (then you shall ask them(f)) from behind HiJAB (veil, screen), DHaL-KuM (your behavior, commonly translated as ?that, this?, but the word is not DHaLiK) ATHaR(purer) for your hearts and their(f) hearts?
3353 o those who have believed, not shall you enter houses the prophet, except that he allows to you over a meal, different to ones that are looking forward for it, and to be when you have been invited, then you shall enter, then when you have eaten you shall disperse, and not ones that linger for stories, verily your behavior was * offending the prophet, but he is being Shy of You, And God, He is not being shy of the truth, and when you have to ask them(f) provisions/household objects, you shall ask them(f)) from behind veil. Your behavior purer for your hearts and their(f) hearts? In verse 353 them(f) are clearly the females of the prophet house. So, why would be the people commanded to look to the females of the prophet house from behind a veil, if, according to the corrupters, 359 already commanded them to cover even the eyes. The most interesting part is that the sectarian corrupters make the women wear the veil, when according to verse 353 is clear that the veil is to be worn by those looking at them. This could only indicate that the veil means a metaphor for the appropriate behavior towards the females of the house of the prophet, because if taken literally, every person entering the prophet?s house had to wear a veil. The corrupters make women wear veils, when is the men that are commanded to use it. Although the veil would be of no use today, since the wives of the prophet are not in this world anymore.
The head garment is commanded to believing women, and God shall be obeyed. 359 lacks description of it, so the way it should look is left to the discretion of the believing women. Therefore, any piece of fabric believing women in a community choose to wear as head garment seems to be acceptable, as long as it differentiates them from the unbelieving ones. The head Garment is to be a symbol of belief/purity exclusive of the believing women. So, if the unbelievers begin to use it and contaminate it, and they can?t be stopped from doing it, the believing women shall change it to avoid being seen as infidel women.
The corrupters claim that the purpose of the head garment is to hide women ornaments (hair ,face, neck). See how they invent lies about God. Also, how perverted should a man be to go as a mad donkey just for seeing women hair or face? Here you have another sign of how lost the Muslims have become. The head garment is to be a symbol of purity exclusive of the believing women. However, the Muslims make any women, even prostitutes, entering their countries wear the head garment; when, on the contrary, infidel women entering a Muslim country shall be forbidden to use the head garment that the believers of such country are using.
May God increase our knowledge and give us wisdom.

i dont believe you can conslusively say that any head garment is commanded in the quran, as 3359 can be interpreted ambiguously.
but regardless of that fact there are no prohibitions in the quran regarding any fabrics or colors as some misguided people would advocate.

More verses
4251 And it is not given to mortal man that God should speak unto him otherwise than through sudden inspiration, or from behind a veil, or by sending an apostle to reveal, by His leave, whatever He wills for, verily, He is exalted, wise.
It is unconceivable that God, glory be to Him, is covering His face with a black clothe leaving only a hole for one eye when He speaks to man. Use your reason people, do not let the corrupter dress you to their likes or dislikes.
May God increase our knowledge and give us wisdom.

In my interpretation of 3359 there is no requirement for believing women to wear a hijab but there is to dress modestly. HOWEVER, I have no problem with women who choose to wear a hijab. As far as I believe, women should be allowed to interpret that verse how they see fit and remember that what is considered "modest" differs from culture to culture.

Peace all,
I still maintain my belief that the head covering spoken about in Qur'an is something that was/is cultural, and not anything that is religiously prescribed in any way (although one can choose to wear it, of course).
In the ancient world, veiling was a sign of a free and respectable woman
To be able to distinguish between their free honorable women from the slaves or concubines, laws were issued. Respectable women were forced to wear the veil while those who were considered unrespectable were forced to go with their heads uncovered. Thus veil became an exclusive symbol of respect; a privilege that slaves, prostitutes and concubines were denied off.

In pre-Islamic Arabia, covering oneself well was necessary for protection from the elements
Costumes always reflected the environmental needs. In the harsh deserts of Arabia, the Arab nomads lived in tents or huts with no doors and with roofs made out of palm trees. They were exposed to all kinds of severe weather conditions from the burning sun in the summers, to sand storms, cold, and often rain in the winters. Before proper houses were built, people sought the shelter of their own clothes to protect them. Due to that, both men and women often covered their heads and wore long garments. Covering the heads was neither a religious nor social obligation.
The author then goes on to explain how this tradition of covering oneself fully in harsh environments continues today
Because of such severe weather conditions, it doesnt come as a surprise that even today, men of the nomadic Tuareg tribes in North African Sahara, and not the women, are veiled. It is a firmly established tradition that men begin wearing the veil that covers the entire head and face with the exception of the eyes, at the age of twenty-five. And once they reach this age, the veil is never removed even in front of their family members.

Seriously? Are we going over this cut and dried issue again? The Quran issue no command for women to conceal their hair. I 'd recommend the link below for anyone who is still doubtful of that. I think I have talked this subject enough for a life time.

How can different rules apply to different women based on such a subjective judgment of how attractive the hair is?
Im just saying if you know you know you have nice hair..get compliments often, unwanted attention etc you should do what you can to prevent fitnah.

Some men also claim to get turned on by women's face, women's voice, or even women's mere existence in the same room or at the mosque. We can't use men's subjective desires to prevent women from living normally and freely.

What is wrong with having nice hair or a pleasant face or a pleasant presence, we should thank God for all beauty. There is nothing wrong with beauty. Quite the opposite. Beauty is a blessing, why should we run away from it? https//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?a
Why some people seem to confuse beauty with vice?
It may look not very feminist but I like beauty contests, or I used to like them before they started making the women walk like broken horses and not like human beings. I do not know whether it has got better or gone back to human walking now, but I enjoy seeing beauty, feminine or masculine, there is nothing lustful or undue about it and I see no acceptable reason to hide it as it it was something dangerous or bad.
Personally I am a bit sorry for beautiful or "attractive" women because unfortunately there are some idiots out there who act like flies and it must be hard for the women to get rid of indeed unwanted attention or presumptions, but it is up to the flies to learn to behave like human beings and not up to beauty to ask for forgiveness for being beautiful or to hide themselves under a stone.

You might be able to do things with headscarf, but it won't always be freely. Wearing a cloth over the head and ears is unnatural because the hair has functions of insulation and protection (from UV) and the ears should not be covered for obvious sensory reasons.

It's good to be considerate but there is a big difference between being conscious of your body and your surrounding, and acting like a lost sheep in a forest full of hungry wolves. the latter requires you to hide while the former, to cloth.
Clothes, in my opinion, have a spiritual connotation deep down. To be able to walk like you are something more than what your body naturally present itself to be, a body of a mammal that is walking on two legs. So the question is, what do we present ourselves to be when we hide such a manifest part of us ?
Animals are naked, and they have no objection. Humans, in the story of Adam & Eve used to be naked. Until they "ate from the tree" and therefore "gained certain knowledge". They immediately "covered themselves" and were consequently sent to face the test of the earthly life.
So from the very beginning we ran away from our nature.
So covering your hair and hiding it from the sight of the hungry insatiable wolves or clothing yourself in a manner you consider the most appropriate for who you see yourself to be ?

Beauty pageants are bad for society. Literally nothing good about them.
