Why do you speak with a fork tounge? are you short? My question was about how the barrier effect them. NOT if they will be breaking vases.

So how do we say they are spirits?
what possible good does it do these spirits or us for that matter, to be roaming about when their jig is up (and they can't come back anyway?!?!)If we couldn't see 'spirits' nor communicate with them, nor 'feel' them for whatever thats worth, why would anyone insist or know or think they are the dearly departed is beyond me...a barrier through which we can't see/sense jack and neither can they...do I even need to say anymore roll

Ok. We know everyone dies. WE know everyone will be resurected. WE know there is a barrier which stops the soul from comming back. So, the question is, what is the soul doing from the time the person dies to the time of the resurection.

1621 They are dead, not alive, and they have no idea how or when they will be resurrected.
3652 They will say "Ah! Woe unto us! Who hath raised us up from our beds of repose?"... (A voice will say "This is what (Allah) Most Gracious had promised. And true was the word of the messengers!"
3055/56 And on The Day when the Hour arrives the guilty will swear that they remained (dead) but for an hour, thus they were ever deceived. But to those to whom knowledge and faith are given will say "The truth is that you have remained (dead) until the Day of Resurrection By Allah 's decree. This is the Day of Resurrection, But you used not to know.
660 It is He who doth take your souls by night, and hath knowledge of all that ye have done by day by day doth He raise you up again; that a term appointed be fulfilled; In the end unto Him will be your return; then will He show you the truth of all that ye did.
1045 On the day when He summons all of them, they will feel as if they lasted in this world one hour of the day, during which they met. Losers indeed are those who disbelieved in meeting GOD; and chose to be misguided.
4046 The Hell will be shown to them day and night, and on the Day of Resurrection "Admit Pharaoh's people into the worst retribution."
Death is akin to sleeping...with some very bad dreams (fire/hell) for the disbelievers...

Okay you wanted to. So how does that help me in this discussion about the jinn?

Then I doubt mentioning them is of any benefit to me if they are not your proofs for what jinn are or do.

No not at all. I'm leaving my own interpretations aside to understand what you are trying to say. As I explained, I thought you were talking about jinn, when you finally made it clear you were not talking about jinn, on a thread discussing what jinn are.
It is not within reason to assume my bewilderment was because of my view on jinn. I simply wanted to know if you were speaking about jinn and since you were not, why you were speaking about spirits. To which you responded brashly, almost childlike in reaction.

Look guys,
If you are "Quran-only" then you would know there is a whole Chapter on jinns alone. If you believe in the Quran=You believe in Jinns. Most of us had yet to have an experience with them to completely figure out what they are. Some are fortunate/unfortunate to have crossed "visible" paths with them. I am completely convinced we, as humans, have not gone so far into science to determine their characteristics. We might never will. Let's leave it as that they do exist in this world, as we do.
I wanted to ask if anyone of you had ever had the feeling that you weren't alone in the room? That someone is in the room with you..physically?
I had one such experience. All my sisters had just left the apartment to go to the store. All of a sudden, I was overcome with this feeling like I was not the only in the room. It could have been trick of the mind. But I was so freaked out by the experience, I left the apartment and went to the lobby. I could have sworn on the Quran I wasn't alone. It felt like there was a presence right there, I couldn't see it. I was nothing thinking of such things prior to it. When we all got back into the apartment, everything was back to normal.
Sometimes, you just can't explain everything in rational way. We are limited in our knowledge of science or the paranormal, just as the people before us were.

I can't say for a fact that I have met someone who has regular contact with jinn. All I can do is share my experience with you and let you draw your own conclusions. Here's what happened...
I was 17 years old, and was spending the day at the Florida State Fair. There is a game where a woman would guesses your age. If she guesses correctly (or within three years of your age), then she "wins." If her guess is too far off, you win a prize. I decided to play this game.
What struck me as odd was that she asked me to repeat my age in my mind, over and over again. Rather than repeating my true age, I repeated the number 24. Her guess was 24. When I told I was really 17 she scowled at me and said, "But you were thinking 24, weren't you?!"
After admitting the truth to her, she nodded and told me to choose my prize from the shelf.
Jinn may or may not have been involved, but one thing is 99% certain - she read my mind! If not jinn, how else might she have done that?

yes....that's interesting....many things v cannot "explain" or "understand"...at the same time cannot deny based on prejudice! -)
i have myself talked to a few people...some whom i know personally...and who swear that they have had "wierd" experiences...
...and the quran does indeed affirm to the existence of djinns...so i dont challenge or contradict their experiences just cuz i aint experienced it myself! -)
however...coming back to what u have recounted...i am not sure if djinns can read minds...maybe 1 of those "psychic" things...like clairvoyance...or telepathy or remote-viewing....methinks...i have had a few interesting experiences myself! -)
anyway...urs was an interesting anecdote! -)
