in any direction, it does not matter, as long as you humble yourself to your Lord

This is explicitly exampled in Quran itself http//mypercept.co.uk/articles/meaning-of-SuJuD-from-Quran.html

    Quote
1648-50 Can they not look to a thing God created? Its shadow turns to the right and the left, SuJaD to/for God and/while they* are humble. And to/for God SJD what is in the heavens and what is in the Earth of creatures and the angels/controllers, and they are not arrogant. They fear their Lord from above them, and they do what they are commanded.
    *seems to refer to shadows

If we take the above as prostrations/prostrating (as some translations do), then this would clearly imply that no matter which direction the shadow faces it is STILL prostrating to/for God, i.e. God is everywhere, which links with "to God belongs the east and west so wherever you turn there is God's face/regard", see 2115. This strongly and clearly implies direction is irrelevant here. It should be noted that the vast majority of Muslims do not actually face the cuboid called Kaabah in Mecca during traditional prayer. This is because the earth is spherical, thus most are facing a random point in space. Even if we draw a straight line on earth in the direction faced, every degree off would result in being many miles away from the cuboid, due to the vast distances involved. From this we can safely reason that the exact physical direction is not of primary importance, as it is very difficult to get right, and God does not wish hardship on us, see 2185. Also, when one is on the move, e.g. riding, walking etc one can uphold salat according to the traditional understanding of 2238-239, but obviously one would be facing the direction they are traveling in and not one direction only, thus this is considered an exemption. Again, implying direction is irrelevant.
Since SJD is in the Arabic plural (more than two) we can infer that each and every point in the shadow's movement is a SJD. How is it showing this SJD? It is moving/complying in accordance with a higher being, its authority/laws, and it is this compliance that is submissive, honouring, paying respect, making obeisance etc hence perhaps the "they do what they are commanded" in 1650.
In 1648-50 we have a clear example of a SJD to/for God when a shadow turns to the right and left. All we need to determine is why is this a SJD and how can we relate it to our understanding in AQ?
It may be interesting to note that shadows point away from sun, thus is quite an intelligent example, considering the sun worship referred to in other verses.

    End quote.

exactly, i also recal a verse regarding focal point , God is pretty clear with that issue , wherever u face , there is a face of God..
so a relation between human and God no need of physical acts what God actually need is a true submission from true heart.. and worship mean to serve commands... there must be a difference between wordly kings and the real king of mankind,,

interestingly when we do prostrate/ whether its spirtual or physical the main point is to humble or inclined our real self to God.. body is just provided to us by God real self need submission..

with the pressure of hunter even a lion of circus do whatever you trained him.. well trained and well submitted is something different...

but brother wakas.. as we know there are two ends we need to make a contact with our lord.. starting by abolution.. so actually our salat requirements according to quran is abolution, reciting quran and share things with God thats actual salat.. or according to your study there is something else we need to add salat,

but again i know real connection need no actions , innerside is main thing.. but again i would like to know how you usually do salat in edges of day

      peace

          Peace Imran,

The infinite Creator is present wherever you turn (2115), so in which direction will you physically prostrate? When you physically prostrate in a specific direction, does that mean the infinite Creator is not behind you? Because while you are physically prostrating in a certain direction, you are showing your behind to the infinite Creator in the other direction. Wouldn't that be extremely rude?

2115 And to allah belong the east and the west, so wherever you turn, there is the presence of allah. Allah is infinite, knowledgeable.

2177 Piety is not to turn your faces towards the east and the west,.........................

          Peace

yeh you are right brother i have simlar understanding.. though..

what i pointed out how all this physical prostration started ..? have any idea i mean its long ago before even the quran

the difference between the real creator and the kings of world is huge...

i m also confused about the sajda after reading wakas article.. becoz he got some nice points to ponder.

and i think the real sajda/humble/prostrate should be from inside. the body is a garment. real self is a actual character..

but anyway i m still doing sajda in my contact prayer but i think i will revise it soon after studying more , from his article i m convinced God dnt need outer thing, he need to serve him from truthful heart. the "niyaat" again whether somebody do sajda or not do it if real self is submitted to God . then duty accomplished i think...

i still think the act of sajda is human invention... about the sajda in contact prayer is there is any thing from sources which make us clear any prophet did physical sajda in their contact prayers..

            peace

Philosophically ,words have no meaning other than their application .my argument is over here because by sujood means the physical prostration and we dont have any other application
As far as wakas's article is concern ,i have almost answered all his valid points, both logically as well as Scriptural.his answers are still due .
since you say you have seen valid points in his article and did lot of research you can read my answer here on this link
