To Pray or NOT to Pray ? Seriously Concerned.

Peace to every being.
I was taught to make salat 5 times a day since I was 7.
I always felt guilty if i didn't make Salat. Now since I started to examine this kind of info rather from local imams. I see information that says that by praying salat we become like idolators.
Where is the truth. Why there is so much uncertainty. Why cant I find a YES or NO answer ?
Peace
Salam. Perhaps the answer lies within your statements
Why u feel guilty not making Salat?
Why do u become idolator when u perform salat?
Where is the truth?
Y isnt there Y or N answer? All the answers are in the Quran. No shortcuts to reading and understanding the Quran, otherwise you fall into the category of people who have replaced the Author with another and this becomes inexcusable. And the Author of the Quran has stated that He will teach you of it. Thus your next step is to read and follow the teachings closely, there are embedded rules in the Quran on how to read and follow it in order to get the wisdom out of it.
All I can say is, salat is personal to you and your Creator, only you can find a satisfying answer. As one who is born muslim, it is more difficult to let go of traditions and old teachings. One must find the courage to trust in the Author of the Quran and approach the reading of the Quran with humility and sincerity otherwise you may get different kind of guidance. You already know that as muslims one need to believe in the unseen with one exception being the Quran. Unfortunately hell in the hereafter is also unseen thus we are not scared enough to act wholeheartedly to avoid hell but instead rest easy on past deeds thinking we are going to heaven. All that is left to guide mankind rest in one single book unfortunately the prophet has stated that his ppl has abandoned the Quran.

I am with the understanding of 3 daily prayers, however i have seen communion used in place of prayer in one translation of the Quran and i like that use of the word communion.
Communion definition or part of the definition = interchange or sharing of thoughts or emotions; intimate communicationassociation; fellowship.
We shouldn't just be ritualistically praying but should be in a state of communion with GOD.. we should be speaking to him like a friend, we should be sharing our thoughts, feelings, concerns and not just ritualistically praying without emotion or communication.

Praise and Glory be to our LORD,
and peace be with you,
this about the best reply i have seen!!
salah, is most definately a communion with GOD, and we must also remember to listen! i think prehaps this is the interpretation of the verse 'do not be loud in your salat, nor secret' 17110, i believe i have been guided that this is refering to our state of communion, that we shouldnt just call upon GOD, and not give him a chance to reply ) as i have found that i have to take times in salat between asking to be open to recieving, as i believe GOD inspires many reminders, and good guidance in them, though GOD knows best, sometimes i worry i am doing it wrong, may my LORD guide mei like the word communion, it is good, i am unsure now whether connection or communion is a better term for salah, i dont know, i think connection is quite accurate to the arabic word, though communion takes more of an idea of sitting down with and talking, which salat is more or less, in my understanding, abiet we should we standing and/or kneeling and/or prostrating, in my understanding, unless of course it is a excessive hardship for us, in which case, praise be to GOD, The All-Merciful, The Loving, The Kind, that He does not blame us for what is excessive hardship for us, as He wants what is best for us, and is The Ever-Merciful.
peace be with you, and may GOD bless you, and your salah, and all those who trust in Him, and hold His commandments dear
He certainly has blessed us so much by instructing us in salah, and zakah, and all the other beautiful gifts he has given us in the Bond.
