How do I tell my husband I no longer want to wear hijab?

Peace be with you,
Seek Gods guidance, and His mercy, Persevere and ask Him to resolve the issues for you.
remember the wife of pharoah, who asked her Lord to 'save me from the tyranny of pharoah and build for me, in your presense a mansion' or similar.
this may be an example to the extreme, but there may be a lesson for it.
May God bless you and guide you, and may He resolve all your needs for you in the best possible manner.
Peace be with you, and may God bless you and your family

"I married a Sunni as well, BUT I'M A MAN; totally different story."
Yeah... kind of confused me there.
So what exactly are you trying to say? Where does the "no hope" come into your story?I sensed a grievance when you said that no woman would defy her worldview etc. for a man.
I looked at your database website but I am kind of confused what I should be looking at first. What exactly is a civilization insurance?
Though modern culture would like to suggest men and women not only have equal RIGHTS but are EQUAL, men and women are in fact anything but. Ironically, homosexuality is the ultimate argument in this, for if men and women are equal, why don't all men just screw other men?! The answer is that they don't BECAUSE men and women aren't the same at all, no matter cultural or political correctness.
Though we are all also products of our upbringing and conditioning by culture and fate, we are also NATURALLY predestined for certain characteristics. And though a female bodybuilder, for example, may be much stronger than most men, generally speaking men are stronger than women .
Now, generally speaking, men are guided by their logic-oriented brains and women are guided by experience and culture (to a greater extent than men; in general).
Knowing this, i.e. being aware of this, i say that i have no hope of changing the mind of my Sunni wife, for she is a TYPICAL woman in this regard and has set her values and ideas according to those of the masses and her family; even though she considers me her husband, she bows to the values that are prevalent in society, as most women tend to do. It is in this sense that i have no hope of changing THIS WOMAN's values and ideas concerning important matters. As a man i am able to disregard general and cultural preferences and convictions and rely mainly on logic and reason. Such considerations have led me to consider that it is madness that the masses/mainstream/popular culture accept the premise that mankind started climbing out of the stone age a 'few' millennia ago; this is simply not in line with anything genetics or logic has to say on the matter. Add that to various scientific disciplines that (independently of each other) conclude that there is MASSIVE global disruption on Earth every 13,000 years or so, and i'm led to believe that mankind could experience an event at any time that throws it back into another stone age. All i'm saying is that we should be prepared against any such event (for otherwise future generations would be condemned to another 10 millennia of barbarism before any kind of civilisation can come about).
Having said that, one can find all kind of practical and neutral information on my message board for everyday life. If you have the inclination and the time, there is years of research i've done there for anyone to take advantage of.Shalom, namaste, live long and prosper

The male is no like 9he female, says God in the Qur'an, bu that is obvious.Men do no get pregnan, do not conceive and do no deliver children and do no suckle, hough of course hey can feed a baby.

So if you see a woman without a hijaab you get sexual feelings???
Not really when they only reveal hair, but hijab is the whole covering of the body and where I live more than only the hair is revealed. Now I personally can control my desires pretty well already so as for me I can endure in around people who like to reveal their beauty, but it is disturbing to have them around because I cannot walk around with shut eyes lest I walk into a traffic sign or something. What I mean by disturbing is thoughts like "oh she is fresh and beautiful" meaning I already thought instinctively there, but it does not necessarily mean erection of any kind but a "strange feeling" which would be a feeling any person seeking to separate from the bodily wishes to get away from. From this comes the idea of shielding the body to help each other.
Not sure about you, perhaps you are already entered in so much that this stimulus is not noticed by yourself. You perhaps watch movies of love. Not sure of your life and it is not relevant to me either. Might be that you have a different release of hormones making that easier. But we must have empathy towards everyone, do you not think?
What if I find eyes sexy? should they also cover them?
It is easier to not "accidentally" focus on a pair of eyes, for modest people do not intentionally seek to be looking at the the other sex.
Be well

So what do you suggest? Burkas for males and females because some can not control their selves?

Asiyah, wife of Pharaoh, is my inspiration and I wish I could be as brave as her. bravo

Yes, men and women are indeed different. Male and female essences complement each other.

I'm starting to hear Terence McKenna's voice in the back of my mind saying, "See, culture is NOT your friend!" hypno

peace Kanada,
You are in the best position to determine what kind of mindset your husband has, e.g. open-minded, inquisitive, logical etc.
If he exhibits the above traits then simply discuss Quran/Islam with him sometimes, ask open questions, make him think, then over time work your way up to telling him that you do not regard covering the head as compulsory.
You can use this site for some ideas of topics to discuss, or simply study Quran together

It is more than simply retain control. The choice of clothing is up to people, but it might be respectful to heavy abstainers to wear something modest. The more you abstain the more sensitive you might become, but also the sensitivity can be improved through practice. But on the other hand, why do you want to reveal yourself in the first place?
Where I live it's rude if you do not to look the other in the eyes when they talk to you.
Then it is fine if you have a decent level of control. But sinking one's gaze deep into the eyes of a person enough to reflect upon the looks of their eyes will probably not happen through a standard conversation. And you probably would not be required to sustain eye contact at every second, would you?
Be well

Excellent.
But I do hope people understand why some people would prefer a strictly unrevealing dress.

We can speculate all we want, but in the end there are only the rules one can clearly gather from scripture. Logic is moot, for it depends on capacities that can never supersede the mercifully given messages from God.
So what does scripture have to say, what is actually written on the matter; especially keeping in mind that it is typical of Mushrik to infer or add though, if no divine instructions have been given, it just means it doesn't matter.
I would like to add if one has a problem seeing the human form, there's nothing stopping you from putting blinders on so you don't have to lay responsibility with the rest of mankind instead of with yourself.

My experience and what I can vouch for is that males can be compleely unimpressed and normal when viewing women normally dressed and wih normal behaivour, hat is, women who about their normal business jus like ay person male or female, and that those who get "impressed" it is out of their own search for bein impressed. And even that if some woman dressed or undressed bechaves so as to call attention to herself as a female animal, only those males looking for such impressions are indeed impressed.
here is nothing unvoluntary in males being impressed by any femaly, either normally behaved or behaving enticely. Which is why he whole fade about he hijab is completely senseless if it is for the reason tthey give. Hijabi menn wan o hijab the women they hink igh belong to hem but lust like pigs after any non hijabe woman, save or he sincerely religious but misguided.
Clohes cannnot be a sentence for anybody, and for women very commonly either in order tha they are attractive in the way hey ar ecouraged to, or in order that hey are nnot atrractive, clohes and aparell seem to be a sentence. Bu wome are ot guilty of anyhing o be sentenced to anyhing. And cerainly men are not judges of women neither other women re judges of women.
For wome ust as for men, clohes are there o give comfort and the best presence. Not complicated at all alhough it gets close to be turned into a science.
