Possible meaning of ZAID in 33:37
-
The question that bugs my mind is why "prooving" that the marriage to the ex wife of an adopted son (or daughter, I suppose) is not proibited has to be done this way, involving personnally the prophet. It would have sufficed if it were stated in any other aya. In fact if it is not included in the prohibitions it should be understood tht it is allowed. But well, let us say it is better if it is said so specifically somewhere else in the Qur'an. Why should the Prophet be made to undergo such an event, and how makes it clearer to have go the prophe to it than stating it in all words for everybody like so mny things in the Qur'an.
That, I must admit it, bugs me. Not that I think it is self serving for the prophet or nything like tht. I just feel there must be some purpose to it.

Yes sister. I suppose what is said in Qoran needed to be said.
As it is, even with many things being said in Qoran,we still ask why did GOD not say such and such.
I also think sister ,GOD knows exactly what to say and why He says it for His reasons of our trial.
Do we really understand Qoran when we think we do?
if only.
GOD bless you.
Peace. -

Peace.I am sure there is a reason for everything. Also we know how much has been gossiped of the poligamous marriages of the prophet, so that this one would be glaringly self-serving. So I do think that there may be a reason and tht probably it is stated in the Qur'an.
Also some times the question of the women of the prophet, azway has been dealt with and whether it ws the usual kind of marriage or whether it was more of a "spiritual" kind, since he did not have any children with any of the wives.I have also read recently a bunch of the novels by Christin Jacq on aciente Egypt, and thos things that were said about marrying etwen brothers and sisters seem to be wrong interpetations, because in fact what there was was a political and religious position with real power and duties, and when no actual wife could do the job another one was named to filled the post without actually being or acting like wife. Like Ramses II who after he became Nefertari's widow he had his daughter act as Royal wife.
Might have been that Mohammad's wives, or some of them, did have that kind of consideration, be it for political purposes, be it for humanitarian purposes or spiritual purposes. To consider is that in singular amraa`tu somebody is always a wife, flesh wife, but zawy may be mate without giving any other particular.

Peace, there were daughters...

Salam and peace,
It is weird that a prophet, whom God chosed to spread Nobel message, needed marriages to spread islam. If he has done all marriages ,as historian says, for the purpose of taking care them or support them financially and not because of lust then why there was a need to marry them? he can just support them without marriage also. But the historian created stories of prophet's marriages to spread bad about Islam as they are doing still. We all know that how they made the word "jihad" as muslims hobby and called us terrorist. As it is they created stories about prophet's marriages and more over the story of marriage with daughter in law to spoil Islamic teaching and prophets character . no matter what Muslims try to make this marriage good in peoples eyes by saying that there r reasons and its not for lust bla bla but this is not accept able by mind of anyone bcz this is not ethical that the prophet whos life spend for Allah and Islam he stuck in marriages and need marriage to set examples. If Allah want to command us to marry with adopted son's divorced wife is permissible then he just command us he will not involve prophet. We need to look this verse carefully and don't make it marriage of prophet which spoil his personality.
This chapter 33 is not about adopted sons or what I made another post about the words used in 334 that if we see those words in diff meaning then this chapter will give us the meaning that Allah is talking about HYPOCRITES in this chapter.
.Salam and peace to all,
In chapter 33 AlAhzaab. The word use in verse 334 and 5 and respectively as adopted son.
And another word use in another verae3346
in meaning of calling people toward Allah. Are these two same or different?
Why didn't take I'm meaning of ummah "nation or foundation" as it took in 37.
37
It is He who has sent down to you, , the Book; in it are verses precise - they are the foundation of the Book - and others unspecific......
And in it Is the same as AKHOOAT which mean unity, Why it has taken as "brother"?
Thank you.
This is my another post.
Thanks -
yes sometimes the similar questions comes in my mind... what mahnoor is telling...
the one who set the examples, must have to follow his own law first..
prophet marriages are fake news of history..
same like we hear stories about somebody(celeberity) marriages but in reality even the celebrity is unaware what news is going on...
we need to reconsider all the history and re check the truth behind 11 or 13 marriages

Prophets did marry. Abraham had a wife, evidently, if we trust your interpretation of Quran, and he was not alone but for example Moses had a wife as well.
Be well
Qarael Amenuel -
Salam. I have some doubts about this story. Like many people said why did the prophet have to marry Zaynab? it would be enough just to write about that law in Quran isn't it? One bro says that this ayah means not a prophet but another person. Anyway, this is a strange story even for many muslims. Maybe someone has found a normal explanation of it?

Friends,
No issue can be conclusively resolved and we can reach a near consensus unless we read Qur'aan in the same manner that non-fiction books are read following academic rules.
Gleaning from translation in circulation will seldom resolve.
Translation of 3337 about fifty may be seen here
https//www.islamawakened.com/quran/33/37/default.htm
Put these on the top and see all the rest whether there is any difference worth mentioning.
George Sale And remember when thou saidst to him unto whom God had been gracious, and on whom thou also hadst conferred favours, keep thy wife to thy self, and fear God And thou didst conceal that in thy mind which God had determined to discover, and didst fear men; whereas it was more just that thou shouldst fear God. But when Zeid had determined the matter concerning her, and had resolved to divorce her, we joined her in marriage unto thee; lest a crime should be charged on the true believers, in marrying the wives of their adopted sons, when they have determined the matter concerning them And the command of God is to be performed.
John Medows Rodwell And, remember, when thou saidst to him unto whom God had shewn favour, and to whom thou also hadst shewn favour, "Keep thy wife to thyself, and fear God;" and thou didst hide in thy mind what God would bring to light. and thou didst fear man; but more right had it been to fear God. And when Zaid had settled concerning her to divorce her, we married her to thee, that it might not be a crime in the faithful to marry the wives of their adopted sons, when they have settled the affair concerning them. And the behest of God is to be performed.
First thing for perceiving what actually is said in the original text and what is it all about we need to determine as to what type of text is in 3337. Would the participants tell the type of text.

And one of the main question... why is the name of this person (Zayd) indicated in Quran? At that time there were a lot of great people but only Zayd mentioned there.
That is indeed surprising, seeing that not even a wife or daughter or son of the prophet is ever mentionned by name, not even de name of the lady in question. ?What an honour for somebody who does not mean much in the Qur'an to be mentionned by name! That is not veyr logical, when a name is mentionned it is because it means something to some effect pertaining to the Qur'an, "proper" nouns included. Which, indeed have a meaning, as such proper nouns, otherwise there would be no reason for them to being marked as "common nouns", as is the case is Muhammad(un/an/in) Hud(un/an/in) Shu3ayb(un/an/in) etc.
It may be time that we start looking to those matings of the prophet as other kind as that of wives. In that sense this Zaydunn, might have indeed the meaning of "too much", "redundant". May be the woman had a vocation to serve the prophet, as others of his mates (usually called wives) had a vocation, because in the later ayas it is made clear he may accapt other women that might want to be his mates. Could they be some sort of corps of aides who looked after social matters and civil matters or even war matters as some delegate authorities...?
Might that dear friend-son of the prophet called "Zaydun" be opposed to his wife serving more dedicatedly the cause of the prophet as she wished, and the prophet felt guilty about it?
Indeed, after the khalifate was instituted as authority it was very nice for them to turn the example of the profet into self-serving gineceums where a herd of women were there for them for their sake.
Salaam

In academic parlance, it means wandering in imaginative vacuity. (that causes risk of derogatory observations and remarks)

As it appears its not a style of QURAN to provide any exact figure of someones age, caledenar dates, proper names of people of prophets era etc.
if NAME ?zaaed? is exception its due to accepted tradition of history.
zaeed was adopted son but did quran ever mentioned this?
experts of grammer can locate it there is something wrong or a forceful interjection of character at prophets era.NOAH age is also (exception ) in confusing figures of years what never can give accurate age or years as per current calendar system.
QURAN style is very unique in time/space sense. even if someone try to force illogical interpretation it will make no sense and experts/scholars keep changing it as per logic and reason also.
CHRISTIANS also try to do same thing but due to lot of forceful accepted tradition it become hard for newcomers to grasp the originalty but again if one seeks something whatsoever hard it will b he will achieved it .
SEEK and yo will get it.

Please again read the Ayah, this time with little more concentration, you may find this fact mentioned right there.

Moreover, the relationship between the daughter-in-law (not real blood relations but anyway) and the father-in-law is not a global problem. Do you know cases like that? And how many? I've never heard of something like that in my life. In such a rare case, Is it possible to mention a person by name? The brothers of Yusuf, the companion of the prophet in the cave, the wife of the Ayub etc - no one is mentioned by name. Only Zayd. It's hard to logically believe in the official version of the Sunnis.

yes brother as per ayah its a person who run through a divorce process named as ?zaeed?.
i agree on that part but what i highlighted or what make me think , whoz that zaeed ? why this zaeed is exception is there anything regarding this mentioned in book.and i feel in forum brother mazhar u r experienced in grammer so u r the recommended person to ask those things and an offtopic age issue of NOAH as well.

Ayah 3336-39 is one Frame. You can relate it to what is meant by paragraph in English grammar. The topic sentence is about how the believing man and believing woman is expected to behave and conduct regards any affair that stands decided and concluded by Allah the Exalted and His Messenger.
There is no denying that Qur?n is also the best biography of its Publisher, the elevated Messenger and Spokesperson of Allah the Exalted, Muhammad Sal'lallaa'hoalaih'wa'salam. He is assigned the responsibility of the Leader of Mankind. A leader is public figure. While Qur?n emphatically enjoins protecting the right of privacy of individuals, it even portrays the most private affairs of the life of the leader of humanity as if the Leader has no right of privacy. Perhaps rightly so since he is role model and guide for the peoples in every aspect of their lives including their privacies.
Not only that his delicate privacies of bed room are mentioned, even thoughts coming to his mind and private conversations are made public. One such mention is about an event of the life of our Leader in Ayah 3336-39.
You study it yourself. I give you just few cues and key word to understand its relevance for the humanity.
Key word is http//haqeeqat.pk/English%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/00.Tabweeb%20Part%202/103.%20Wadoo%20call%20Daal%20%20Ain%20Waw/62.gif
Read about it and then recall the episode of the wife of a minister in Egypt who unsuccessfully tried to seduce Yusuf alahissalam whom they were wishing to adopt as son in his childhood.

Salam and peace,
I m now a days studying chapter 33 AL Ahzab and I want to know any possible and correct translation about verse 3337 because I personally think ZAID is not a name but its mean "increase or excess".
If you would like to give me some translation of this verse with the meaning of zaid as "increase or excess".
Thank you.
There is not to be upon the Prophet any discomfort concerning that
which Allah has imposed upon him. the established way of
Allah with those who have passed on before. And ever is
the command of Allah a destiny decreed.peace
