    Peace,

If you go to YouTube, and search for near death experiences, you can find quite a few testimonies of people who had them. Now, I am struggling to find any Islamic themed nde's. Why iis that?

For instance, an NDE, by a woman called Nancy Rynes Was one of the typical experiences. Now she came back and wrote a book. The message from her is Feel Love, see love, be love.

So, do you think these are experiences are a reliable description for afterlife?

    Thanks

      Peace,

      I have wondered this too. Maybe this can help;

      3942
God seizes the souls at the time of their death; and for those that
have not died, during their sleep. He then keeps those that have
been overtaken by death, and He sends the others back until a
predetermined time. In that are signs for a people who will think.

        Good Morning,
many years ago I was very interested in that stories, because I thought it could perhaps be the only valid Information about what happens after death. Now I don't think that anymore. What those people experience is real, it is not just something their mind produces. But it is called NEAR death experience for a reason. They are not yet really finally dead. Some people experience nothing, they are just unconscious. And there are also stories of horrible experiences. These horrible stories are mostly ignored. Experiences of a bright light at the end of a tunnel and so on are commonly known. And people who have experienced that often say, there is nothing to fear about death, everything will be fine. So it can be even dangerous and deceptive to believe such is life after death. Because, as we all know, the Quran warns us so many times about the hereafter.

Agree. Near death experience is no synonime of death experience. It may be interesting in itself, but not as as information about death or after death.

          Salaam

            Salam Ervin,

It may be their real experience but it may just be spirits (jinn) playing with the person or it may be a lie that is perpetuated with variations and similarities.

In any case, the Quran tells me more about what the next life (after death) is than a person who may or may not be correct. What I can say is that the experience in this lower life and the description of justice in the hereafter in the Quran makes me want to crave the next life more than listening to a person whose account cannot be validated.

In a case where there is doubt, there is not reason to try and validate it - especially if we don't have the tools.

            Salam
            Ed

I didn't want to mention it because I wondered if there are people who come with this conclusion. Some people supposedly meet their dead relatives in ther NDE experiences. It could perhaps be jinns who mask as their dead relative.

The beginning of this verse sounds not as if the dead were able to come to a meet and greet with new arrivals in the hereafter. But I find this verse very difficult to understand. People die in different kind of situations, only sometimes while sleeping.
On the other hand people sometimes report that they could see persons in other rooms and hear what they say. Science just ignores this, they have no explanation for it. So I personally have no doubt, that NDE's
are real. But it is very problematic to interpret them.

                Peace.

Thanks for all of your responses.

I find it hard to work out the truth about God. To me these nde's seem possible. Especially, since the message from someone like Nancy Ryan's message is like I said previously See Love, feel Love, be Love.

Now, I find the Quran beautiful, but, there are other religious scriptures, which are beautifully written.

So, the question is Are these experiences guide to truth, or is Quran, literally interpreted the TRUTH?

                Thanks

                  truth did not exist.
truth become what you believe in..

about afterlife TRUTH cannot be testified apart from the information what is already mention

some surprises/mysteries are unable to crack perhaps for our own good.

the nde experience is just another state of sleep or coma nothing to do with afterlife becoz once u died u ll never come back..

before death every experience is near death experience .. we are already near to death..

I heard many bunch of those in Mosques...

This one is my personal favorite

The NDE of a blind woman who never could see since birth and got a 'visual' experience for the first and only time during her NDE.

the two best books by traditional muslim scholars

1 Qabar ka azaab (grave punishment)
2 Moot ka manzar (horror view of death)

both books are not for kids under age of 13 (PG 13)
both got some sick features like torture , horrors, x100 times with modern movies like SAW(series) &
the characters of the books which are infact angels according to them are very horrible like a modern vampire who have 10 times more big teeth. >
interestingly both books have title page same what you see on horror novels jedi

and even jokes are in sick mode

they believe when somebody died their accontabilty start from grave.. BUT
in case a person is wicked if he died , the punishment started from the gate of house and angels holding big devices of torture ..
rotfl rotfl rotfl rotfl rotfl rotfl rotfl

even angels are disobeying like pakistani police who start hitting criminal as soon as they caught him .. becoz law is you can only torture after remand

angels are doing same they can only give you azab(punishment) once you reach your grave safely .. but wicked person is unlucky ...

and according to them all these people who died withoout sunni is wicked no matter whatever good he did in the life

It has it's root on Ancient Egyptian religion... that's how they maintain control over the population, by scaring them about death..
Paid your tax to pharaoh, your duty and obligation to the temple and tithe to the priest.. errgh.. i mean gods.. or otherwise the gods will be angry and torture you for all eternity after you die.

In Ancient Egyptian religion the punishment might start from the grave.. and ends up in a judgement session where the soul's deed will be put on a scale which then decide whether it will be heaven or hell. In order to survive the 'grave punishment' the deceased soul need to have a HOLY BOOK as his/her guidance. Yes a holy book titled "Journey Of The Dead", available at your nearest egyptian temple with ONLY $2,000,000 of investment. A very good investment in comparison to eternal torture by the gods. And only today they give out 20% discount!! Hurry grab your copy TODAY. This is the chance of a death time...

                        http//www.ancient.eu/Egyptian_Book_of_the_Dead/

The Muslims priest only copied the centuries old proven methodology on how to control the mind of the people.. (and be wealthy in the process). With some twist and revision here and there of course...

interestingly their themes are generated from holy book .. atleast God is merciful he will torture the wicked on the day of judgement but sunni people haste that punishment in grave ..

1416-17 From behind him is hell, and he will be served repulsive water. He tries to drink it, but cannot swallow it, and death comes to him from everywhere, but he will not die; and after this is a powerful retribution.

456 Those who have rejected Our signs, We will admit them to a fire. Every time their skins are cooked, We replace them with other skin that they may taste the retribution. God is Noble, Wise

4071-72 When the shackles will be around their necks and in chains they will be dragged off. To the boiling water, then in the Fire they will be burned.

5652-55 "Will eat from the tree of Bitterness, Filling your bellies therewith,Then drinking on top of it boiling water,So you will drink like thirsty camels.

4443-49 Surely, the tree of Bitterness,Will be the food for the sinful.Like hot oil, it will boil in the stomachs.Like the boiling of liquid.Take him and throw him into the midst of hell. Then pour upon his head the retribution of boiling liquid."Taste this; surely you are the noble, the generous!"

221-2 O people, be aware of your Lord, for the quaking of the Hour is a terrible thing. The moment you see it, every nursing mother will leave her suckling child, and every pregnant one will miscarry, and you will see the people drunk while they are not drunk, but the retribution of God is most severe.

2219-22 Here are two opponents who have disputed regarding their Lord; as for those who rejected, outer garments made from fire are cut out for them, and boiling water is poured from above their heads. It melts the inside of their stomachs and their skin. And they will have hooked rods of iron. Every time they want to escape the anguish, they are returned to it. Taste the retribution of the burning

3857 This is so, and let them taste a boiling drink and bitter food.
( this verse dedicate to code 19ers )
                          i.e ch 38= 19 x 2
                          verse 57 = 19 x 3

NOTE intrestingly there is one contradiction in the verses of chapter 14 and chapter 56
guess what in one verse author is saying they cannot drink it even after try.. on other verse author is telling us he will drink like thirsty camels.. confused (please help me understanding this contradiction)
                          may b mathematics is playing their role.. coz 14 x 4 =56 what a coincidence 56 is a multiple of 14

                          God bless you all..

                            Peace Imran.
Where is the contradiction of 1416/17 and 54;52/55?
They are saying exactly the same thing 1416/17 is saying " Pultrid/repulsive water, will gulp it down/drinks it like one very thirsty even though cannot stand it/ does not like it" and 5452/55 is saying drinks it like one very thirsty/camel...
In both the water is gulped down.
                            My understanding.

                                I disagree.
"Yatjarrahuhu" does not contain "try to " it just means he gulps it down. "Wala yakadu yusighuhu" -Although he cannot stand it- Yusighu does not mean swallow?
                                Any way, my opinion.
                                Thank you.

                                  I disagree.
"Yatjarrahuhu" does not contain "try to " it just means he gulps it down. "Wala yakadu yusighuhu" -Although he cannot stand it- Yusighu does not mean swallow?
                                  Any way, my opinion.
                                  Thank you.
                                  GOD bless you.
                                  Peace.

                                  peace

i dnt understand in which thing you disagree? swallow or sip?

even for a time being let say you are trying to say "he will sip it but cannot stand it" this thing did not solve the apparent difference coz in one occasion he is drinking it with difficulty on the other verse he drinks like thirsty camels .. (do u think there is a difference in these words)

more over let see the next part of verse.. in which its pointed and death comes to him from everywhere, but he will not die according to sentence structure its gives us a perfect metaphor in shape of poetry, "if he want to drink he cant if he want to die he cant"...

brother do me a favor interpret both of these verses according to whatever understanding you have then i will test your method..

btw all above references are taken from edip- layth translation of quran.. otherwise traditional translation show much more horrible picture..

                                  God bless you

                                    Peace Imran
Here is one that makes sense to me and do not show any contradiction
                                    1416
Awaiting him is Hell, wherein he will drink putrid water.

                                    1417
He will gulp it down, though he cannot stand it, as death comes to him from every direction, but he will never die. Awaiting him is a terrible retribution.

                                    GOD bless you.
                                    Peace.

NOTE intrestingly there is one contradiction in the verses of chapter 14 and chapter 56
guess what in one verse author is saying they cannot drink it even after try.. on other verse author is telling us he will drink like thirsty camels.. confused (please help me understanding this contradiction)

                                      peace, it's opposite logic e.g.

came close although did NOT happen

220 neared/almost the lightning takes away vision theirs
6851 and indeed neared/almost the ones disregard they of surely make slip they you with vision/look theirs

came close although it did happen

478 ... the folk not neared/almost being understanding narration of

1416 from ahead of him abyss and giveth drink from water purulent
1417 sipped it and not neared/almost swallowed it and brings him the death from each place and not he in death and from ahead of him punishment severe

5654 so drinking over it from the scalding liquid
5655 so drinking drink the thirsty camels

shall i tell you something guys ... there is no need of doing gymnastic with words..

according to my view may be these two are different stages of hell

in one stage the water is not drinkable
in one stage the water is drinkable but with difficulty
in one stage (probably the easiest stage) where they drink like thirsty camels...

4443-49 Surely, the tree of Bitterness,Will be the food for the sinful.Like hot oil, it will boil in the stomachs.Like the boiling of liquid.Take him and throw him into the midst of hell. Then pour upon his head the retribution of boiling liquid."Taste this; surely you are the noble, the generous!"

in this stage water is like hot oil .. and it will boil in stomach still after drinking its appears to me that there is a flame of fire under the stomach which makes it boil ???

this situation is the stage where water is not drinkable probably thats why they say throw him in the midst of hell i.e center of hell... now see the result what will happen after that

47 15 Compare it to that of those who abide in the fire, and are given to drink boiling water that cuts up their intestines.

Imran, the best to each one of us is their own gymnastics.
You do yours by all means,as long as it makes sense to you.
                                          GOD bless you.
