Salam/Peace everyone! group group
There is a question that appeared in my mind. What are the arguments for & against of the arabic word deen meaning religion or system?I hope i won't cause a quarrel here.

Salaam Sardar
Religion is worship and it is man made. Deen is obligation detailed in the Quran by the Creator for us.
That is how I understand it.
Agreed, i sadly forgot to add this There should also linguistic evidence for both sides.

You mean the root word Dal-Ya-Nun? I guess it depends s lot wht one means by "religion".
While I read the whole lot of meanings from the dictionnary that The sardar has posted, suddenly has come to my mind the divinity Maat from SAncient Egypt, which was understood as truth, justice, equity, truthfulness, total honesty in all aspects snd dealings, reproachless behaviour. It was also the test for the afterlife like what the Qur'an says, every atom of gooness will be seen and every atom of evilness will be seen.
Keeping to the semantics of the qura'nic root, it would be what we owe, ourselves, others, the animals the things, and the Divine, that is, God. An honest person pays her debts, so if we are religious persons we pay what we owe, to ourselves to God, to everything and everybody else. To God we owe our whole self, so we should be living as belonging to HIm.

The thing we is we have had an exchange and I do not know to what part he is referring to. I use several dictionnaries and one which is more wieldable and therefore easier to handle, and it is good to, I do not know whether he refers to that or something else, because of tht one <I gave the particulars.

Salam/Peace everyone, there is something i heard for a while is that the meanings of mazhab (correct me if i misspelled it) & deen have switched by traditionlists. Is this true? I recommend posting linguistic evidence for sure. It's not a must though. group group

There is a question that appeared in my mind. What are the arguments for & against of the arabic word deen meaning religion or system?Deen is not religion, a set of ritual or a set of opinion to be belief in, a social identity that one can be a member of, or a system to be forcefully imposed upon it's citizens or ideology..
Deen is attitude / character / judgement, specifically your attitude...
Deen Al-Islam = the attitude of acceptance.Given anything that has happened, is happening and will happened all in accordance to God's will.
Then the best attitude is to accept it...
It will save you from the negative attitude of anger, hate, revenge, resentment etc..Accept disgrace willingly.
Accept misfortune as the human condition. What do you mean by "Accept disgrace willingly"?
Accept being unimportant.
Do not be concerned with loss or gain.
This is called "Accepting disgrace willingly."What do you mean by "Accept misfortune as the human condition"?
Misfortune comes from having a body.
Without a body, how could there be misfortune?Surrender yourself humbly; then you can be trusted to care for all things.
Love the world as your own self; then you can truly care for all things.
-- Tao The Ching"Let your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."
-- Matt 6 -
although human being never accept misfortune and miseries how hard he try becoz its also the will of God that human can never b able to accept the misfortune (bad luck)
"God is the one who make you laugh and cry" we just have to wait what time he decide for our laugh and cry (mystery continue)
rich vs poor who is favored by God ?
rich is lucky he got people around him, things around him, even God wants him to laugh so he is in laughing condition
poor is unlucky he got problems around him, nothing that can he buy for happiness, God wants him to cry all over (his big risk is he will steal, rob and try to get what rich have and in this way he also lose hereafter) such a badluck -

You need to somehow downplay the influence received from your society, 'think outside of your box' and see things from greater perspective...Rich and poor is relative the same as lucky and unlucky... it depends on one perspective..
To me every living this is the "lucky" one as they tasted the feeling of being alive or "unlucky" one as they need to endure the consequences of being alive.. it depends...
"We are going to die, and that makes us the lucky ones. Most people are never going to die because they are never going to be born. We privileged few, who won the lottery of birth against all odds, how dare we whine at our inevitable return to that prior state from which the vast majority have never stirred."
-- Richard DawkinsHe was referring to the fact that only one from one million sperms managed to find an entry to the egg.. The "Lucky" sperm cell..

unfortunately i live in that society since my childhood and i see how the society differentiate rich vs poor. more i think more i get sad about the behaviour of people..
i wonder about some of my reletives who died and leaves millions behind but they dnt spend a penny on the cause of God they only spend if something is in their interest/benefit ..
example a person buy a new model of car every year as soon model released but he take less care of spending/helping a poor couple in their wedding .. if he dnt buy a new model or sale his old model he can manage to get 50 poor couples get married ...
but he likes a collection of cars in his big parkway ..why he care for other? and a person only need one CARYou need to somehow downplay the influence received from your society, 'think outside of your box' and see things from greater perspective...
Rich and poor is relative the same as lucky and unlucky... it depends on one perspective..
agree and i also say these things to some of the poor like me who are surrounded by rich society but they only understand it for a while because "rich" never understand this and he continue to treat them like shit or like inferior being or like a insect who try to eat their wealth...
a child of poor dnt have a great knowledge like you brother jaffar who can understand this...
a child dnt understand why "rich child" have everything what he wish and a "poor child" dnt have proper/fav meal ..
lot of other things .. i can only understand it by the tears of poor
atleast i feel this and since i was kid i make my mind to do something for these people .. i m terribly fail , i sacrifice my town , my wishes, my aims , my friends , my MOM just to accomplish a purpose to pay my duty to poor childs but i m failed terribly
now i feel exactly everything is in the hand of God i cant change much ... i cant remove their tears .. i wish i can.. (

Travel more.... not all societies in this planet have the same cultural construct as your society... expose yourselves to different perspectives, learn from them...
i wonder about some of my reletives who died and leaves millions behind but they dnt spend a penny on the cause of God they only spend if something is in their interest/benefit ..
Normal human behavior... and no need to judge them.. accept them as they are...
example a person buy a new model of car every year as soon model released but he take less care of spending/helping a poor couple in their wedding .. if he dnt buy a new model or sale his old model he can manage to get 50 poor couples get married ... but he likes a collection of cars in his big parkway ..why he care for other? and a person only need one CAR
Good for him.. I don't see anything wrong here..
See it from different perspective... that person help the car salesman, workers in car factory, the workers who supplies parts for the car, the catering who provide lunch to the workers, the farmers who supply food to the catering to earn his/her living.
And by assuming that person pay taxes for all of his cars.. the fund from the taxes will go to other people as well..agree and i also say these things to some of the poor like me who are surrounded by rich society but they only understand it for a while because "rich" never understand this and he continue to treat them like shit or like inferior being or like a insect who try to eat their wealth...
Accept it as it is.. you only torturing yourselves.. some human does behave as such... everything has their own role to play...
a child of poor dnt have a great knowledge like you brother jaffar who can understand this...
Not true..
You will be surprised on how much wisdom i've learned from the people who are being labeled by others as "poor", "impoverished", "primitive", "ignorant" and 'dumb'.
Infact the majority of my 'questions' are answered by them...
Good soul are just good souls.. humble souls are just humble souls, regardless of the labels..atleast i feel this and since i was kid i make my mind to do something for these people .. i m terribly fail , i sacrifice my town , my wishes, my aims , my friends , my MOM just to accomplish a purpose to pay my duty to poor childs but i m failed terribly
now i feel exactly everything is in the hand of God i cant change much ... i cant remove their tears .. i wish i can.. (There will not be any failure if you set your expectation low.. or even NONE...
Whatever has happened just accept it.. as it all happened in accordance to the ultimate plan..."Can you deal with the most vital matters by letting events take their course?
Can you step back from you own mind and thus understand all things?
Giving birth and nourishing, having without possessing, acting with no expectations, leading and not trying to control this is the supreme virtue."
