The daily times of salat are more than 2 as stated in 4103 mawqootan

The definitions of day and night can be found in the following verses

Nahar means day, that is the period when the sun is revealed as stated in 913

Layli means night, that is the period when the sun is covered as stated in 914

Therefore fajr and isha?i are parts of night not nahar as commonly translated

Tarafayi alnnahari in 11114 means 2 parts of the day nahar, that is zuhur and asr, and zulafan mina allayli refers to magrib, isha'i and fajar

Dulooki alshshamsi in 1778 means from zenith of the sun, thus from zuhur to ghasaqi allayli that is magrib, isha?i and fajar again in the same order

Please note the following three main positions of the sun

    • TulooAAi alshshamsi the sunrise

    • Dulooki alshshamsi the zenith of the sun

    • Ghuroobi alshshamsi the sunset

The day and night always intersects with each other at the times of sun rising and its setting study the following verse

Yooliju allayla fee alnnahari wayooliju alnnahara fee allayi 576

I will answer this for fun. This topic has been beaten to death. You are going off of a confirmation bias. There are many conversations and articles on this site to look at.

The daily times of salat are more than 2 as stated in 4103 mawqootan

Mawqootan literally just means "appointed" or "at fixed (a) time(s)." This has nothing to do with being more than 2 or 2 or any particular number.

The definitions of day and night can be found in the following verses

Nahar means day, that is the period when the sun is revealed as stated in 913

Layli means night, that is the period when the sun is covered as stated in 914

Therefore fajr and ishai are parts of night not nahar as commonly translated

2187 says "you may eat and drink until you can distinguish the white thread from the black thread of dawn. Then fast until the nighttime." If fajr were (only) night, it would say "fast from night until night" basically.

Tarafayi alnnahari in 11114 means 2 parts of the day nahar, that is zuhur and asr, and zulafan mina allayli refers to magrib, isha'i and fajar

TOTAL CONFIRMATION BIAS. There is no way you can extrapolate 3 different supposed prayer timings from "wa zulafan min al layl." These talk about THE OVERALL TIME when salat occurs - to the messenger. It describes when the salat happens. It does not discuss distinct "prayers." "Tarafay al nahar wa zulafan min al layl" describes the time of salat al fajr and salat al isha. Both are at "the ends of the daytime" yet also include "the approaches/near parts/early parts of the night."

Dulooki alshshamsi in 1778 means from zenith of the sun, thus from zuhur to ghasaqi allayli that is magrib, ishai and fajar again in the same order

If there were a so-called "zuhr prayer" why did God omit this supposed prayer totally in 2458 even though the timing is mentioned and salat at fajr/dawn and isha/dusk times are mentioned?

Dulooki al shamsi literally means "merging/rubbing of the sun." This obviously refers to the end of the day when it turns into night.

Furthermore, 11114 and 1778 are addressed to the messenger, not the believers.
Also, two salat names with times in them are mentioned salat al fajr and salat al isha. Why are the so-called other 3 names/times that you use omitted? No "salat al asr" and so on. The Quran even mentions asr and zuhr, but not that salat is to be done at these times. Also, asr can be "time" or "passing of time."

It is clear that "salat" does not mean "prayer" and 2238-2239 shows this. Also "AL salat AL wusta" (note how "al" is used twice as opposed to salat AL fajr) is not "the middle prayer" and even if it were, that would be "asr" in your system and like I said, that is not used as a "salat time."

I am no longer a Sunna-rejecter. See 4:59-65, 62:2-4, 3:31, 4:156, 7:157 Messenger teaches and is to be followed and obeyed. Examples of revelation received which is not in the Qur'an: 3:123-126, 33:37, 2:187, 66:3, 62:9.

        peace,

From my experience, bias plays a huge role in one's own beliefs. Interestingly, in your case, we have a clear contradiction to highlight, so let's see if you will correct yourself, or at least admit it is an inconsistency

The daily times of salat are more than 2 as stated in 4103 mawqootan

I assume you are making the claim that since mawqootan is an Arabic plural (i.e. more than 2) then salat daily must be more than two daily. For sake of argument, let's say that's true.

You contradict your own methodology with

Dulooki alshshamsi in 1778 means from zenith of the sun, thus from zuhur to ghasaqi allayli that is magrib, isha?i and fajar again in the same order

Because in 1778 it clearly states uphold/aqimi al salat (singular) li X til Y, not plural "salawat". So, Quran says to do one salat during that time period, not three.

So, on the one hand you uphold the singular/plural usage, then ignore it elsewhere......... to make your view fit.

        Confirmation bias in action.

        Please see http//mypercept.co.uk/articles/problems-5-salat-Quran.html

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

One can drive a lot of information from a verse in the Quran.

One of the information available in 2458 is three times of aurat, the verse is not specifically saying there are only two salat times but Allah choose words precisely

731 - 8 also addresses the messenger. Now what can say about 7320

The word Salat does not occur these verses, it's dua. Here is the arabic text & transliteration.

                                          Your reference is not Quran
