Peace tulipred- muslima
No sister ,I am saying they have nothing to do with worship. Let me explain
We start at surah one
GOD in His wisdom, has explained what is worship and what is help for our soul
Iyaka Naabudu Wa Iyaka Nastain" Only GOD we should serve/follow and only GOD we seek help (for ourselves/soul) from".
What is "Naabubu?
"Wa An Ibubuni, Hada Siratun Mustaqueem". Follow/serve me Alone, this is the straight path.
Naabudu= Straight path.
What is straight path?(Sirat Al Mustaqueem)
6-151-153verse 153 says ,151 and 152 is "sirat Al Mustaqueem= Ibada
This is My path - a straight one. You shall follow it, and do not follow any other paths, lest they divert you from His path. These are His commandments to you, that you may be saved. In principal that is what will save us, look at the verses, no Shahada salat, Sawm or hajj have been mentioned with Sirat Al Mustaqeem. however ,we also need ,for higher status(Darajat) to help our soul grow,
"Wa Istinu Bi Assabr Wa Salat."
Wa Iyaka Nastain",This is with salat sawm...etc.
Salat Sawm...etc have nothing to do with worship. Traditional Islam made up the connection! They called them worship and created the pillars.
My understanding sister, unless you bring verses with them as worship or with pillars of Islam?
GOD bless you.
Peace. -

My favourite verses to quote when sirat-e-mustaqeem is under discussion.
Allah does not need anything from anyone. Worship has nothing to do with Quranic term "Ibadat". The root "a-b-d" means to serve. So ibadat means to act upon Qurnic commands as per my humble understanding based on so many verses in Quraan.
3515
Oh mankind you are in need to Allah but Allah is the one who is Al-ghani Al-hameed.
148
And Musa said if you do kufar you and all of those in the land then surely Allah is Al-ghani Al-hameed.
And very rightly quoted by you "seek help from salat and sabar".
May Allah bless you

Peace.YES YOU ARE RIGHT I HAVE USED THE WRONG WORD TO EXPLAIN WHAT IM SAYING I APOLOGISE BROTHER. YOU ARE CORRECT THE SIRAT AL MUSTAQEEM IS FOLLOWING THE ETHICAL COMMANDANTS AND MOST OF IT IS UNIVERSAL AND THAT IS ISLAM.
THE SPIRITUAL AND THE OBSERVANCE SIDE OF OUR FAITH IS IN SALAT,ZAKAT,FASTING,HAJJ WHICH WE CANNOT DENY.

I denied the traditional forms of those after practicing Islam from Quran alone.

Hi Tulipred..
Followers of Mohd are not the only Muslims? Yes Exactly
For me after studying quran with thorough comparisons within quran iteself.. I take only what I understand from GOD and not any Dictionaries either? because as per 2284 ?? we hear we obey ..? unless they get the quran from quran itself, they wont say that.. Muslim is not SUBMITTER or neither it?s the followers of Mohamed..
MUSLIM is SURRENDERED ONE (one who surrender to the will of God / can mean even a general surrender to anyone or anything)
SUBMISSION is S J D (totally different from MUSLIM)
2853 Sahih International And when it is recited to them, they say, "We have believed in it; indeed, it is the truth from our Lord. Indeed we were, before it, Muslims ."
2853 Arberry and, when it is recited to them, they say, 'We believe in it; surely it is the truth from our Lord. Indeed, even before' it we had surrendered.'
The above verse is a clear proof that during the time of Mohamed and revelation of quran there are people who call themselves as MUSLIMS in arabic.. So followers of Mohamed is not the Muslims but those who surrender at any period of time?
Undeniably, one can be MUSLIM / SURRENDER to GOD (means accepting God merely and meanwhile not take any other with HIM and not necessarily be a good / better / best of character)
Sorry folks, I always compare things in general way.. so I give example..
Suppose if someone Joins to a GROUP or TEAM or GANG of GAMBLERS.. He or She is intended it to JOIN it and avoided other Groups or Teams.. that intention is equal to when it comes to MUSLIM.. But how well he or she remain and perform being in that group / Team is his or her strength of belief and faith and performance and that is equal to IMAN?That?s why Prophet Jacob was telling to his sons on his last moments.. ?Don?t die other than being a MUSLIM (SURRENDERER)..? This is the least of achievement a human or Jin can do to hopefully escape from the great disaster of Hell? Prophet Jacob didn?t say Don?t die other than being a Believer / Mu?meen or Muththaqeen etc. He suggested at least the least possible achievement..
What is actually a SURRENDERER?? ? Not to resist to an opponent or Authority in power and submit to their authority.? But when it comes to surrendering to GOD, He will not become an opponent..we surrender to the Most Merciful of All..
By merely surrendering,, does it mean that we will obey the full authority in mind and practice?.. Not exactly? But we don?t go against the Authority with willingness or unwillingness.. That?s merely a MUSLIM..Somehow the one who surrendered didn?t go against the authority.
But IMAN is once you surrendered and continued to cultivate the faith and practice it and obey with our heart to the authority without wavering..
That?s why God clearly ordered the Nomad arabs to call themselves as MUSLIMS and not MUMEEN.. because they somehow accepted in the belief of one GOD and avoided other beliefs / doctrines .. it?s like you just kept the total interest to play football and you have not even touched the ball yet? so to become a MUSLIM no need of ritual acceptance? heart plays the role..
Remember God guides not only from His book/s? so anyone can become surrendered if he or she remains within that frame. Book/s are just to confirm it in writing as a proof? if I give 100 dollars without writing or without witness, does it mean that I didn?t give.. but if I write and give and keep witness then it?s a proof.. So God guides with having proof through books and without it.. God is fair in His guidance (for literate and illiterate equally) but blessed are those who got the guidance with book/s of God.. I guess.?

SAHIH INTERNATIONAL
Say, "We have believed in Allah and in what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the Descendants, and in what was given to Moses and Jesus and to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims to Him."Can there be muslim without imaan?

YES YOU CAN BE A MUSLIM WITHOUT IMAAN. IMAAN OF THE HEART IS SOMETHING VERY DEEP AND CONSTANTLY DEVELOPS THROUGH PRACTICE, THOUGHT ANF STUDY. MANY PEOPLE ARE MUSLIM WITHOUT GUIDANCE FROM A SCRIPTURE THAT IS A FROM OF IMAAN BUT THEY DONT HAVE A CERTAIN PATH TO FOLLOW ITS JUST A BELIEF AND IT STOPS THERE.
ITS EASIER TO GET THE RIGHT UNDERSTANDING OF THE SCRIPTURE IF ONE SPEAKS THE LANGUAGE. MANY THINGS GET LOST IN THE TRANSLATION. AS I SPEAK THE ARABIC LANGUAGE MYSELF I VERY LUCKY TO COMPARE THE ORIGINAL WITH THE TRANSLATED ONES AND USUALLY IM OT IMPRESSED LOL.

I do not agree with that. No islam without imaan. The path to follow is deen and deen is al-islam (no title intended).

Wrong. There is no one correct understanding from our perspective. Quran is a guidance for mankind and all mankind cannot have same understanding. Even two Arabs cannot have same understanding of the Book. God guides people as per their level of knowledge and sincerity.
Salaam

This is what Sunni scholars say to the Sunni people, and what Sunni people say to the non-arabic speaking people.

To believe in god alone you've entered islam and that makes you a muslim whether your aware of that or not. i've met europeans who believe in god alone and that they'll meet him/her they believe in right and wrong and in doing good. they are muslims without knowing, the difference is they don't follow a scripture that has practices and a prophet that helped deliver the message. everybody has they're share of islam unwillingly thats why its fitra. the first imaan is in god and the second imaan in all prophets who delivered the message and to each they're own practices.
your right two people don't have an understanding of the same thing but at least when you speak the language and able to read and compare it massively helps your understanding whether right or wrong.

I respect your understanding but my understanding is different than yours regarding meaning of muslim.
A muslim is the one who is as sound and defect less as possible and is in peace and provide peace and security for his surrounding.
Fitra is not our nature. It is God's law of creation. He has created everything as per His law of creation. Root "fa-ta-ra" means to do something for the first time and "fitra" is derived from this root. That's why He is Creator of heavens and earth.
It does not matter if one believes in one God or not. God is not in need of our belief. However believing in one God and His scripture make our life easy and give us protection (maghfira) of His law.
your right two people don't have an understanding of the same thing but at least when you speak the language and able to read and compare it massively helps your understanding whether right or wrong.
True it make it easy to understand the original Arabic text.
