Our "contract" is reason. We have it. It part of us. We are a mind and an "intelligent" body. An intelligent body is intelligent as far as going after pleasure and avoiding pain, it is the life of the beasts. Very predictable and foreseeable.
Can you reject your reason ? Not really, you can ignore it though. You can get drunk. But it's still there. even if you reject it it may still send you signals that what you're doing is not truly meaningful, hence why you may get depressed and have a sense of being lost. But without reason, you can live the life of a beast and be in harmony with it, because that's what the beasts of the wild are supposed to do. They don't have what you have.

No I said we have REASON and we have a Body. But our body has its own primitive way of thinking, hence why I called it "intelligence", intelligent as far as going after pleasure and avoiding pain. But let's call it instinct, It's the way animals think and live their life. And they do so with harmony because they don't have Reason.
Instinct to Reason is primitive, so as not to say stupid. It lacks any sort of principles. It's stuck with the superficial aspect of things. Reason, however, goes above and beyond things.
Reason is what makes us "gifted" if you want to say. You can't reject it but you can ignore it. Even if you do so you may still get a sense that your life is meaningless.
