First Frame of this Sura/Chapter containing Ayahs 1-8 is an example of superb use of literary technique termed Juxtaposition in which two or more ideas, places, characters, phenomena, and their actions are placed side by side in a narrative, for the purpose of developing comparisons and contrasts. It is employed in order to surprise the readers and evoke their interest, by means of developing a comparison between two dissimilar things by placing them side by side. The comparison drawn adds vividness to a given image, controls the pacing of the narrative.

The Appointed Moment has become nearing accomplished ?

    http//haqeeqat.pk/English%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/00.Arabic%20Text/054.%20Al%20Qamar/54.1a.gif

And the Moon has become in cratered state.

Ayah 1-3 of Frame begins with gradable proximity of a figure - the Appointed Moment . She is the Subject of preceding feminine perfect Form-VIII verb, stemming from Root . This Subject is a figure that is closely guarded and we do not have any specific information frame by which we could image its location in timeline. The verb is result verb which also describe events that take time but these events have an inherent temporal endpoint the time when the result state comes about. The duration of the event up to the endpoint is taken up by the process that leads up to this result state, though it is left unspecified by the verb; it is this process that a means/manner verb names. Such events are known as ACCOMPLISHMENTS.

The second sentence of the Ayah, like the first, is declarative and cautionary in intent, as if the proximity of preceding fact is being compared to a ground reality. The verbal sentence comprises of third person masculine perfect verb, Form-VII followed by its Subject the Moon. Form-VII is always intransitive. It has self reflexive meaning and has effective connotation, a state produced in the subject. The verb stems from Root that leads to the perception of rift, cleave, fissure, chasm, breakdown happening in a thing. Thus, the sentence gives an impression that the Moon has become in the state signified by the Root. The information reveals that the Moon was originally not in this state and it is a later phenomenon.

    For details,

    Salam brother Mazhar,

Thank you for responding, but unfortunately I didn't grasp anything to your scholarly English. Kindly please explain it in a layman's language.

Or if anyone can explain Mazhar's response it will be highly appreciated.

It only says that the Moon (doer-subject of verb) has become in such state which the verb signifies.

simple, it means when the majority or not even a single person will have iman in the Sunnatullah Alone / Pure Natural Belief... and Allah will split/save His Messengers and its followers from all nations..

While the news had come to them in which there was sufficient warning. A perfect wisdom; but the warnings are of no benefit. (544-5)

Then when the Messengers (MOON) despaired and thought themselves denied (SPLIT), Our help came to them, and those We willed were saved.(SPLIT) Our violent force (of the sixth mass extinctions) cannot be averted from people who are evildoers/unnaturalist. (12110)

            Salam Mazhar,

I noticed you translated the verb as cratered and not split. Can you explain to me why it's cratered and not split.

            Thank you

                Split
                verb
                1.
break or cause to break forcibly into parts, especially into halves or along the grain."

You will find it as action verb. While Form-VII verb used is stative/state verb.
Measure VII Passive Meaning - Indicates that the subject received the action of the verb without a doer, or it happened on its own.

                • The mirror broke. (Nobody broke it, it just fell apart on its own.)

                Ibn Faris said

That it leads to the perception of self creating a rift within a thing.
Instead of assigning meanings as "asunder", "broken into two pieces" to the Root please consider "cleft", "indentation", Urdu/Persian word and the meanings of the verse might become evident.

Think about this => you interpret what is not clear. Or al-quran is clear (Quran means all the quran put together not only words by words).
and Bayana means not interpretation but clarification in
As God says in the quran => "...and do not be hasty with the Qur'an before its revelation is completed to you, and say "My Lord, increase my knowledge.".
The main principle here is Quran is clarified by himself. Principles of meditation, humility, junction

                      now you think about this..

Think about this => you interpret what is not clear.

                      not the issue because

But as for those with sickness in their hearts, it (the revelation) will add doubt to their doubt, and they die kuffar.

On that Day, We shall ask Hell, Are you now full? Hell will answer, Are there any more? (5030)(9125)

the animalistic persons are supposed to be blind and not clear about the Quran ... no promise for clarity made by Allah to the Kafirun (of the Sunnatullah) https//scontent.fkul7-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/49007338_2257256507824261_3168650541106462720_n.jpg?_nc_cat=101&_nc_ht=scontent.fkul7-1.fna&oh=0579c833e3729140d9836fd3a9814d24&oe=5CE5F517.. not even a single verse.

                      no?

Or al-quran is clear (Quran means all the quran put together not only words by words).

                      much more than that...

and Bayana means not interpretation but clarification in

you only raise the synonym issue

As God says in the quran => "...and do not be hasty with the Qur'an before its revelation is completed to you, and say "My Lord, increase my knowledge.".
The main principle here is Quran is clarified by himself. Principles of meditation, humility, junction…

Then High above all is God, the King, the True. And do not be hasty with the Quran before its inspiration http//corpus.quran.com/wordimage?id=41158 is completed to you, and Say "My Lord, increase my knowledge." (20114)

So it is not clear with your traditional/conventional interpretation of the Quran, and please take note...

                      https//naturalgasnow.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Screen-Shot-2015-06-03-at-9.59.52-PM.jpg

it is cherry picking definition of the Quran... the #Strawman_Muslim https//scontent.fkul1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/51446552_2280568462159732_7714549042222465024_n.jpg?_nc_cat=109&_nc_ht=scontent.fkul1-1.fna&oh=d3620462ec8546f06a48912fc9e71cf1&oe=5CB8C416

now please define the Quran in the light of the following verses...

Have iman in the Quran means

But as for those who have clear evidence from their Lord followed up by a witness from Him — and before it the Book of Musa came as a model and a mercy — such people have iman in it (the Quran). Any faction which rejects it is promised the Fire. Be in no doubt about it. It is the Truth from your Lord. But many people have no iman (in the Quran). (1117)

                        Salam to All,

The moment drew near, and the moon was split.

I don't understand this verse. How was the moon split or what does this verse mean

                        God bless you all

Not Split. A more accurate translation is "breached/reached".

In Arabic, the word "shaq" is to cut a path to something - the boy "shaq" his way home.

I would say this verse was a foretelling of the 1969 moon landing which tells us that the hour is comming closer...

                            Salam,

Because it?s linking itself to a future event - the nearing of the Hour (if ?a? is happening, then ?b? should have happened before ?a?).

Not Split. A more accurate translation is "breached/reached".

In Arabic, the word "shaq" is to cut a path to something - the boy "shaq" his way home.

I would say this verse was a foretelling of the 1969 moon landing which tells us that the hour is comming closer...

This is the meaning of this sentence

But the verb in the Ayah is Form-VII which is always INTRANSITIVE, thereby such meanings are absolutely not the possibility.
