          Hello everyone... Salam..

Hope everyone doing good. Below video I linked just to inform that if there are who visiting around the world as tourists, won't skip visiting this island nation as well. Yes well known as Ceylon (Srilanka). Hard-hit by massive economic crisis and even not being able to import essential goods to the nation. Central Bank coffer has run out and and no foreign currency.. At this juncture, tourists are more welcome. Visiting this tropical paradise you won't lose anything for what you spend.. Since inflation is high dollar rares are very high and tourist can benefit it.

So those who are interested pls visit this beautiful island once colonozed by Dutch, Portages abd British.. Every person's visit immensely contribute perhaps to come back on track. Thank you for reading.

I always thought the purpose of life was to 'live for the sake of Allah' or to worship Allah. Then there are verses that say it's only for the good of your own soul so essentially we should be living righteous lives for ourselves and yes to gain a great position in the next life. But then there are other verses that state something along the lines of mentioning 'mercy' and then 'for this did He create them'- maybe that was just referring to the righteous....maybe we have many reasons for why God created us.

This reminds me of Genesis...I wonder if the first part of genesis where God created everything because it was good is part of the real gospel of Jesus....(I'm not a former Christian, just sort of interested in reading the Bible sometimes).

The purpose of 'life' is learning / experiencing the lessons of love.
The highest form of love is unconditional love.
Where mercy / compassion is a mean / way to express unconditional love.

As such that even the 'unrighteous' was created for such purpose.

This reminds me of Genesis...I wonder if the first part of genesis where God created everything because it was good is part of the real gospel of Jesus....(I'm not a former Christian, just sort of interested in reading the Bible sometimes).

You don't need to identify yourself as Christian to read the Bible and vice versa.

You're referring to a part called "Bereshit" in the Torah scroll which Jesus also read during his lifetime as it was written long before Jesus was born. Thus in no way it was authored by Jesus.
As matter of fact, Jesus both refer to some of it and criticize / debated the validity of the some part of Bereshit, which caused some problems for him from the 'religious authority' of his time.

And Jesus was not even a Christian, as the religion of Christianity was not around during his time.
Thus Jesus definitely was not a Muslim (A member of the religion of Islam) as religion of Islam also was not around during his time.

Having said that, Jesus was a good example of expressing the attitude of islam.
As one can read how he expressed / learn the lessons of love during his lifetime.

"Let your will be done, on earth as it's on heaven".
              -- Matt 610

"‘And forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven our debtors"
              .
              -- Matt 612

"Judge not, and ye shall not be judged condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned forgive, and ye shall be forgiven"
              -- Luke 6

                  Peace Sarah, Jafar.

Sister Sarah, The word worship does not match with Ubudu completely. It gives the meaning that GOD is in need of something from us. GOD has no need ,He is self sufficient.
                  Ubudu just means follow-GOD s system/deen- and obey-GOD s laws/instructions-.All GOD s creations are His Ibad.

The purpose of our life according to us can be our goals/aims/priorities of this life.
According to GOD our purpose should be the priority of our next longer eternal life. His purpose for us is to follow and Obey Him to succeed in that next life.

But GOD gave us the Amana-freedom of choice.- and we are entitled to work for either or both. The best choice for us is to priorities the hereafter.i.e Ubudu- Follow and obey GOD.
That does not mean GOD does not want us to have priorities in this life also.
" Say who forbids the good things of GOD that He made available for His Ibad/humans(BELIEVERS AND NON BELIEVERS) and all the best provisions. Say
for those who believe -Follow and obey GOD in this life as their main purpose- these things are also for them in the next life.
So the best purpose for us is to have GOD s reward in both and prioritise the hereafter by following and obeying GOD .

Brother Jafar, Jesus followed and obeyed GOD. Qoran instructs us to be/do the same .
                  GOD bless you both.
                  Peace.

                    Peace everyone..
You know one of the difficult thing to tolerate for me Yes.. When I hear anyone say our Prophet was illiterate and he was not able to read and write. That makes me so anxious. My house is situated very adjacent to a big Masjid/mosque and every Friday or even on Ramadhan nights I hear in loudspeaker they keep saying the hadiths about illiteracy of Prophet and it makes me so dissapointed abd I almost close my ears..

My above linked video is about Prophet Mohamed and he was literate person. Any comments or brickbats are welcome..

Qoran gives us the answer clearly about most of the prophets that GOD has chosen and concludes for us that GOD system does not change.
Let us take some examples from Qoran and see what GOD says
                      1- Joseph
When he reached maturity, we endowed him with wisdom and knowledge. We thus reward the righteous.
                      وَلَمّا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُ ءاتَينٰهُ حُكمًا وَعِلمًا وَكَذٰلِكَ نَجزِى المُحسِنينَ

                      2-Jacob
When they went (to Joseph), they entered in accordance with their father's instructions. Although this could not change anything decreed by God, Jacob had a private reason for asking them to do this. For he possessed certain knowledge that we taught him, but most people do not know.

                      Moses
When he reached maturity and strength, we endowed him with wisdom and knowledge. We thus reward the righteous.
                      وَلَمّا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُ وَاستَوىٰ ءاتَينٰهُ حُكمًا وَعِلمًا وَكَذٰلِكَ نَجزِى المُحسِنينَ

                      Abraham
Before that, we granted Abraham his guidance and understanding, for we were fully aware of him.*
                      وَلَقَد ءاتَينا إِبرٰهيمَ رُشدَهُ مِن قَبلُ وَكُنّا بِهِ عٰلِمينَ

GOD was aware and prepared all His prophets for the job. The least prophet Mohammed could do was to read, write and do maths because he was a merchant and buying and selling requires these basics for the business, its contracts and deals.
Also GOD gives various information in Qoran that those living in his time knew he could write and read, example
                      Mohammed
They also said, "Tales from the past that he wrote down; they were dictated to him day and night."*
                      *255 Mohammed's contemporaries knew that he was a literate man who could read and write;
                      وَقالوا أَسٰطيرُ الأَوَّلينَ اكتَتَبَها فَهِىَ تُملىٰ عَلَيهِ بُكرَةً وَأَصيلًا
GOD is aware of who will be chosen as prophet/messenger, then prepares His prophets /messengers for the job. It is a heavy job that requires knowledge and skills.
                      GOD bless you all.
                      Peace.

                        Salam big brother..

Yes.. I would like to add another particular set of verses.
6943-47 here also right hand is mentioned of Prophet Mohamed.. It seems like he was used to write with his right hand.. Further verses states that "if you include any falsehood " So how come one who can not read or write include verses into Quran? God didn't blame others or said with the help of others but said directly if you include falsehood.
                        That's a point to ponder.

Brother Jafar, Jesus followed and obeyed GOD. .

Definitely, yet he did NOT followed and obeyed Torah law, which was 'claimed' to be the only 'authorative divine law set by G-d" according to the religion of his time and place. Infact he was sentenced to death by "Council Of Ulema" (Sanhedrin) due to blasphemy.

That's why among the best definition of islam (the attitude, not the religion) can be found in Gospel, especially Jesus prayer.

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
                            Your kingdom come,
Let your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Compassion and forgiveness is among the expression of 'unconditional love'.
Not judging, not seeking revenge or punishment instead just letting it go.

On eastern philosophy such attitude is also being labeled as "no attachment".
"No attachment" shall release one from the bondage of "karma".

Having said that; some people then tried to skew those core message by creating 'organized religion' based around the popular figure and story of Jesus, Muhammad (among few example).

"Religion is a trickery and exploitation of human insecurity, and that it created narrow-minded lemmings who were coerced into being controlled by a fear of death”

                              Brother Jafar.
                              you say, quote
"Having said that; some people then tried to skew those core message by creating 'organized religion' based around the popular figure and story of Jesus, Muhammad (among few example).

Do you mean Mohammed skewed Jesus message?
Or do you mean people have skewed the message of Mohammed like they have done with Jesus?

If you mean the second , I agree with you.
Mohammed will say My people have abandoned Qoran s message- i.e created a false religion by skewing the message that agrees and confirms the message of Jesus and all GOD s messengers before and after.
                              GOD bless you.
                              Peace.

Or do you mean people have skewed the message of Mohammed like they have done with Jesus?

Isn't Mohammed among the people? Just like you and I?
Does it matter which individual(s) actually performing the 'skewing'?
I don't think it matter, what matter is to recognize the pattern.

Again 'holy book' is among the product of organized religion.
As can be seen by the case study of Jesus lifetime, (Torah scroll which was the 'divine holy book' as ordained by religion of his time and place)
Jesus did not wrote any book during his lifetime, as he doesn't see that as important.
                                Well and so does Mohammad.

Among the 'pattern' of 'diversion' which can be found commonly performed by organized religion is through

Reorienting the focus away from the core message.

Thus I again try to reorient the focus towards the core message.

As mentioned the core of the message can be found in Jesus praying

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
                                Your kingdom come,
Let your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Do the above and one will have islam as attitude.
What kind of identity, gender, religion, holy book, nationality one claimed to be or being labeled as doesn't matter.

Learning the lesson of 'unconditional love', which among others through compassion and forgiveness is the purpose of life (or lives).

                                  Peace Jafar.
Mohammed came with a similar message like Jesus did before him just like Jesus came with the message similar to the messengers before him .
Or are you saying Jesus was the first and only one to come with the message ?
Brother what about the people before Jesus did they not receive the message?

After each messenger s message gets skewed , GOD sends another one to renew/reestablish the same message.

I do not get your point.. Or you believe all the hear say about Mohammed., or you have not looked properly at his message?
                                  GOD bless you,
                                  Peace.

Is lifespan of 20 years really possible or mere assumptions?
