Greetings - I am VERY new

salam alaykum
i wasnt raised muslim but christian and i do know how it feels to leave your families ideal of what the right way is
i too know how it feels to be labeled as one who is in the wrong way and misguided and oging to hell by there standards
you are not alone i understand here is somehting i have learned throught time
u cant change hearts, no matter how close u r to a person, u can't make them see what u see, make them learn what u learn... u have to wait patiently for them to learn through their individually prescribed destinies"
hope that helps

The Arab Conspiracy
Salamz ~
When I was first introduced to the Koranic-only ideology, I was scared to death. Every waking moment, I asked God for forgiveness and I felt that I have betrayed theProphet ~ Mohammed.
At the same time I prayed that God will show me the Right Way and if Koranic- only is the Way then the Lord will tweak my heart to embrace passionately.
I read "The Arab Conspiracy" with so much despair. Although I found some truth in "The Arab Conspiracy" deep down I was still scared.Maybe scared to face the truth? Nevertheless, I put everything aside to finish the book meaning that I put all other emotions ~ I took it that I am just reading.......after I finished reading the book, I was like
Wow!
After that, I look at everything at a different angle and Boy! did I had a good laugh ...... looking back at so many things that I deemed the truth.
My advise to all first timers reading "The Arab Conspiracy" to look at the book openly and With God's Grace your heart and mind will see the truth ~
Yes, people around me have seen the change in me ~ I no longer don the "tudung" or headscarf (tts on the physical side)
Although, I am not one to preach the Koran incessantly ~ I do have people telling me that although I am a "walking Koran" ~ I do not preach what I say?! .......... whatever that means laff
I do not care what people think of me now ~ because at the end of the Day, The Lord shall judge me not them!And before I make my way out ~ there is something that I would like to share with the world & and its something that I intend to do everytime I post something here (I hope I dun get sued for nothing) Here goes ~~
~ LAST NOTES ~
Always Respond To A Greeting
"And if you are greeted with a greeting, then return an even better greeting or return the same. God is Reckoning over all things." (Quran 486)
smiles thats taken off Chapter 6 under "Social Responsibility" (page 42) from "The Natural Republic".
You may be wondering ~ "What that gotta do with my page" laffs
Those are the Words of God ! and every single Word of God touches us because it is our Way of Life !

Hi Isis,
I'm from Singapore too. Like you, I was raised a Sunni Muslim but I renounced the religion and became a weak atheist (no belief in god) ten years ago. The decision was intellectual. Recently I'm convinced that there is a god and now I subbscribe to the God Alone philosophy.
Hope we can share our views over teh tarik.

SalamZ ~ Alen
I really think tt it is not a matter of "verbal". I mean we do not have to go ard telling ppl, tt "hey, I no longer am practising what YOU are practising".
Its a matter of belonging I guess tts making us feel alone ~I remember then when every Eid, we, the whole family will flock to the nearest field to perform the Eid prayers, it was so joyful......I really feel tt you are part of a society. Now, I no longer perfrom the Eid prayers (ritual) ..... the first year tt I did not perform the Eid prayers ..... I felt so "empty" ..... but I don't anymore cos I understand the meaning of "sholat" and Eid prayers simply a ritual.
Alen, all you really need is Blessing from the Lord..... You are not alone in this and may the Lord shower you with all his Grace and Blessings ....

SalamZ ~ splatter (tts a pretty interesting nick!)
Over a cup of tea tarik be interesting ~
Mayb u wanna gimme ur contacts so tt we can have our gathering and basically talk! laughs
I really wish tt free-minds start a chatroom where we can log in and chat and talk abt our insecurities ~ Tt way we can be more spot on abt matters ..... Imagine all of us chatting and giving our views at the same time ~ wouldn't tt save alot of time ~ and nites when we cannot sleep we can just be with friends online!
Not only tt, look on the positive side, we will be reaching out to a lot of ppl out there ! Of cos, there will be prowlers and trouble makers (isn't tt a norm. in chatrooms) .....
Anyway, hope tt it will come true one day ..... or mayb there is an existing free-minds chatroom tt I am not aware of ..... slaps forehead
I really think tt there are a million ways to reach out ..... its just a matter of how we do it !
Last notes ~
All we want is the truth , to serve the Lord , if what we are doing is wrong then please advise what is right ! (tts directed to those reading the posts!) -
As salamu alaykum.
Respectfully.Thanks Isis.
I use to always go to the mosque to pray with others, especially on fridays. But then they started putting photos of Mecca, then i learned about their mentioning Muhammad's name in the prayer so i stopped going there.Now i pray in the house.

SalamZ,
With God's description, the gracious, the merciful
"Do read to contradict and refute only base on the Quran alone,
Do not believe and take it for granted,
but to weigh and consider."According to this Ayah ~ we have witnessed the Lord even before we were BORN ~
7172 Wa-ith akhatha rabbuka min banee adama min thuhoorihim thurriyyatahum waashhadahum AAala anfusihim alastu birabbikum qaloo bala shahidna an taqooloo yawma alqiyamati inna kunna AAan hatha ghafileena
7172 And when thy Lord took from the Children of Adam, from their loins, their seed, and made them testify touching themselves, 'Am I not your Lord?' They said, 'Yes, we testify'-- lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection, 'As for us, we were heedless of this,'7173 Aw taqooloo innama ashraka abaona min qablu wakunna thurriyyatan min baAAdihim afatuhlikuna bima faAAala almubtiloona
7173 Nor can you say, "It was our parents who practiced idolatry, and we simply followed in their footsteps. Will You punish us because of what others have innovated?"Let us reflect what Iblis promised the Lord ..... based on this Ayah ......
716 Qala fabima aghwaytanee laaqAAudanna lahum sirataka almustaqeema
716 Said he, 'Now, for Thy perverting me, I shall surely sit in ambush for them on Thy straight path;
He will divert all human from God?s straight path?
Moslems all over this world chants this very Ayah, every time they perform their 5 daily rituals physical ?solats?, but unfortunately they do not know what is ?straight path??based on the Koran alone.

Question What is the The Straight Path?
Here are the Laws which all Moslems must uphold and honor
"Say 'come let me recite to you what your Lord has forbid for you
That you should not set-up anything with Him.
And be kind to your parents;
and do not kill your unborn children for fear of poverty,
We provide for you and for them;
and do not come near evil,
what is openly of it, or secretly;
and do not kill the soul which GOD Has forbidden, except in justice. That is what He enjoined you that you may
comprehend'.
'And do not come near the money of the orphan, except for what is best, until he reached his maturity;
and give honestly full measure and weight equitably. We do not burden a soul except by what it can bear.
And if you speak then be just even if against a relative;
and with pledges made to GOD you shall observe.
This He Has enjoined you that you may remember'.
And this is *My path, a Straight One, so you shall follow it, and do not follow the other paths lest they divert you from His path. That is what He has enjoined you to that you may be righteous." (6151-153)
*Please note that this is the SAME Straight Path that was revealed not only to Abraham, but to Moses and his people (the exception being the Sabbath which was made as a punishment for some of the Children of Israel 16124).

Greetings "free",
i dont trust all hadiths but at the same time i cant reject all hadiths in a hurry...i believed religious practises r being handed down from one generation to another...salat is mentioned in da Quran...but how we learn how to do salat is dat we learn it from fellow muslim....
The problem is that you do not consider it enough of what has been mentioned about "salat" and that there is more to it. I guess that is the reason why you still ask "how we learn how to do salat". Ask God directly (and I am sure God is capable of answering your question), and if you are lucky, you may get your answer. I suggest that you abandon the idea of learning it from "fellow muslim".
