Nudity in the form of Art

just out of curiousity why do you want to paint nude art? What is it that makes nudity so attractive to artists?
Me personally I don't want to see naked people either in real nor in paintings 'cause I feel ashamed. And I think we see too many naked or half naked bodys in the western world all around us.
I prefer dressed people .Salams

I don't find anything bad in nudity in the form of Art either, or in the beaches in summer.
I suppose the way we live from chilhood influences our impressions.
Art is studied without paying attention to what piece of art is with nude or dressed or landscapes or buildings. And you see nude bodies, even totally naked in beaches every year in the beaches in summer, thus, you find nothing strange, at least is those two circumstances, art and beaches. -

I cant speak for all artist..but I think its not about a naked body or a lustful thought. Its more about emotion, life, expression and how they menifest in our nature. Nudity an pornography is totally different thing.
Like it doesnt matter to God if you are naked or dressed up as long as you are connected to Its system spiritualy. But all these dress issues we have are for our own convinence. But obviously as human community took a complex form so this dress thing became an issue.

Well I believe that a true believer in God shall be modest and low down their gaze.
But with this I don't say that you'll have to wrapped your body into a tent or something like that.
When I'm at a beach I'm not nude or half nude like the rest of the visitors.

As shamsul said, its not about a naked body or a lustful thought. Its more than that. For example
Zorn's painting called "Le Tub"
The colour intensity in that picture is just amazing. Its like white light giving off this array of beautiful colours which falls upon a young lady who is preparing to take a bath. THAT is Art. Not everyone can do it. But he has captured that moment in his painting.
Watts's Painting called Pursuing The Fata Morgana
This painting shows a man seemingly reaching out to grab Morgana who is flying away from him. But the way Watts has captured this is simply brilliant. Not too much space between them and yet not in his reach either. And the shades of colour used in this picture, well i dont even know the names of these colours.
Parish's painting called Lady_Violetta_and_the_Knave
In this picture Knave is looking over Lady Violetta. But the painter has painted this Lady to look out of this world. Almost angelic. Yet human. Again, the colours used to capture her look are amazing.
Raphael's painting called La_Fornarina
Here is a woman sitting half nude for her potrate. But look at the details. Every curve, her expression, the background and even the creases on her dress is perfect. Its nothing short of a real picture which is then turned to look like its been painted using Adobe.
Saladin, im sure if you google for these on the net, you might find these there. Dont think of it as pornography. ITs Art. A painter has gone through huge trouble to paint this potrayte. And it is not for his sexual pleasure. But a sign of his mastery of painting.

well , it does matter to God if u r naked or not . thats why God commanded to cover our bodies . thats His system .

I don't want to mix art and pornography either. I definitely see the difference between it.
Jaxal, I don't know these pictures you're writing about, but I guess if I would see them I'd think to myself Nice, but why is he/she naked? What's wrong with it if he /she would wear something, so that I don't feel so oops ...?
Don't know, I just don't get the point. If he is covered with a tiny cloth around his hips - isn't it art also to paint this piece how it is wrinkled up?
I don't want to be ignorant and maybe you can help me more to understand it.

Plz dont think like that. Think of it as something you dont quite understand. Like i am with maths lolllllllll. Ok i ill try to make you understand. Say for example, you are a doctor. And a patient comes to you with a problem in his/her private parts. Will you cover it up before you diagnose him/her? Ofcourse not. ITs your job. You are a doctor. Of human body. You dont care about the sexual nature of diagnosing ur patient's private parts. ITs ur job.
The same is with Artist and his/her Art. An artist wants to draw something and he/she draws it. He/she dont care if there are sexual parts all over the place becoz its ART. Learnado drew a human shoulder with all the nerves and muscle. It was one the first painting of the inner human body. He did it becoz he was curious about the human body. I have the painting and you can see all the muscle, nevers and bones. Its amazing to see how this man, in those times, drew something with such accruacy. There is a painting by JW Watherhouse. Its called "Apollo and Daphene". And you can see Apollo running after Daphne in a playful manner with a harp in his hand. Behind them you see river and the mountain covered by a tree. And you cant help notice the detail. Daphne also has her breast partially exposed but that is nothing compared to the complete beauty of the whole painting.

Then thats the difference between a pornographic drawing and Nude Art. Pornographic Graphic drawings are intentionally pornographic. Nude Art is just Art. Like any other painting. I hope you understand.

i respect your views . i also had a tough time deciding whether its ok to draw and see such art or not .my view is that both 'types' of art are intentional , both contain nudity . and to me , nudity is very bad . its like movie artists would say about acting nude "its only art" .
btw , what kinda art do you and shamsularfeen like ? i like comic book art .
