Nudity in the form of Art

I cant speak for all artist..but I think its not about a naked body or a lustful thought. Its more about emotion, life, expression and how they menifest in our nature. Nudity an pornography is totally different thing.

those who draw "pornography" can also say the same thing that "its not about a naked body or a lustful thought. Its more about emotion, life, expression and how they menifest in our nature" .Like it doesnt matter to God if you are naked or dressed up as long as you are connected to Its system spiritualy. But all these dress issues we have are for our own convinence. But obviously as human community took a complex form so this dress thing became an issue.
well , it does matter to God if u r naked or not . thats why God commanded to cover our bodies . thats His system .

I don't want to mix art and pornography either. I definitely see the difference between it.
Jaxal, I don't know these pictures you're writing about, but I guess if I would see them I'd think to myself Nice, but why is he/she naked? What's wrong with it if he /she would wear something, so that I don't feel so oops ...?
Don't know, I just don't get the point. If he is covered with a tiny cloth around his hips - isn't it art also to paint this piece how it is wrinkled up?
I don't want to be ignorant and maybe you can help me more to understand it.

Plz dont think like that. Think of it as something you dont quite understand. Like i am with maths lolllllllll. Ok i ill try to make you understand. Say for example, you are a doctor. And a patient comes to you with a problem in his/her private parts. Will you cover it up before you diagnose him/her? Ofcourse not. ITs your job. You are a doctor. Of human body. You dont care about the sexual nature of diagnosing ur patient's private parts. ITs ur job.
The same is with Artist and his/her Art. An artist wants to draw something and he/she draws it. He/she dont care if there are sexual parts all over the place becoz its ART. Learnado drew a human shoulder with all the nerves and muscle. It was one the first painting of the inner human body. He did it becoz he was curious about the human body. I have the painting and you can see all the muscle, nevers and bones. Its amazing to see how this man, in those times, drew something with such accruacy. There is a painting by JW Watherhouse. Its called "Apollo and Daphene". And you can see Apollo running after Daphne in a playful manner with a harp in his hand. Behind them you see river and the mountain covered by a tree. And you cant help notice the detail. Daphne also has her breast partially exposed but that is nothing compared to the complete beauty of the whole painting.

Then thats the difference between a pornographic drawing and Nude Art. Pornographic Graphic drawings are intentionally pornographic. Nude Art is just Art. Like any other painting. I hope you understand.

i respect your views . i also had a tough time deciding whether its ok to draw and see such art or not .my view is that both 'types' of art are intentional , both contain nudity . and to me , nudity is very bad . its like movie artists would say about acting nude "its only art" .
btw , what kinda art do you and shamsularfeen like ? i like comic book art .

In my opinion...nudity is not bad....Its the person who takes it as a stimulus for his/her lust is bad. Nature is God's art..and what do you see in it ? Its a combination of all...nudity(nature) and we humans(some nude and some covered). Rather than linking nudity with sex, try to see it as a part of life and something very normal which we all are in natural form.
I think the problem is not with nudity but the person who interprets it. Do you think most ppl gets aroused in the art gallery seeing a nude art ? I dont think so. Only a pervert mind would do so and no matter what a pervert mind will always find a reason to stimulate him/herself.
So which is best for us ? To open our mind or get more conservative ?

Dear beloved sisters and brothers,
The topic of nudity has always been disputed. Even the stories about adam and eve links nudity to shame. Some have interpreted this to mean that nudity is something to be ashamed about. May be, maybe not.
I my self had a very restricted relation to nudity. I somehow still have, but i have some better understanding for it. It is not the nudity that is the problem, it is, as brother shamsul-arefin put it, the perverted mind which is guilty.
In 3332 we se that those with a disease in their hearts, perversion, will even get the wrong idea from talking friendly. Surely one cannot forbid talking just because some harbour diseases. Though one has to take precaution, if one is near such perverted minds, its better to be careful.
In the same way, it's wrong to believe that nudity is bad, simply because it is the bad people who are "after it". However one should also use nudity in a wise way, as to protect oneself from these sickminds.
Let's suppose your nudity is like diamond. Nobody would give their diamonds in to the hands of thiefs knowingly, but that doesn't mean the diamonds are bad or evil. In the same way nudity is not evil by itself simply because it is safer to keep it hidden. One never knows who's perverted.
We also see in quran that women may relax their covering when one is with family. Why? If nudity is bad by itself, how come it suddenly becomes good or acceptable in the company of family?
It doesn't, nudity stays the same always. It is the enviroment that changes. Hence one can claim, that it is the enviroment one has to focus and fix, not nudity.
For the record, i don't like porn. I believe it is insulting to the beauty of women and all of their unique characteristics. Porn says that womens body is only for men to enjoy, i disagree with porn. Womens body was created as a whole, one cannot divide it by saying "This man can enjoy, and this man cannot". At all times, both womens and mens body should be respected and honored as a whole; in its completeness. For some, art is such a honoring, for some it isn't.

Exactly. The enviroment in your house is much more fitted for such a dresscode, both for your wife and you. Outside, things can be dangerous.
Surely you dont believe that it is the shorts who are bad. It is rather the enviroment you want to protect her from.
Another example, if one is nude in cold weather you will get sick. However if you put on cloths in this weather, you will avoid cold much better.
But if you are nude in warm not too hot weather, you will do just fine.
Once again, it is the enviroment. Nudity is from God, nudity was even allowed in such a respected place as heaven.
However, our conditions and enviroments depends upon ourselves. We have to change.

You like nude art and see nothing bad in it... but don't allow your wife to go out in Shorts...
OKFor me nudity and being ashamed about it becomes a problem when you have kids and and on the one hand you don't want them to be too "open" so you teach them to be ashamed in point of nudism. But on the other hand I don't want to be my kids as being ashamed as I am cause I know how it may prevent from enjoying some things. This is really not easy.
Its good that their father is more open in those things so they don't learn from only one side.However its not only education which makes us open or ashamed. But also type of charakter, I guess.
But once you are a more ashamed character, it is hard to change. And propably the other way round.

No no its really simple. Nude Art is an art. ITs like "Mona Lisa" or "The Storm" or "The Last Supper". It is all art. But going out in shorts, thats against God. God says cover your self to both men and women. So even I wont go out in shorts which are above my knees. There are shorts which are below the knee. I have no problem if my wife wants to go out in those. Coz i would be wearing them . But i wont allow her to go outside wearing shorts which are above the knees or sleeveless shirts. I can wear sleeveless shirts coz i dont have boobies. So there is nothing sexual about me wearing sleeveless shirts.

Nudity or til what point can you show yourbody really is a question of environment.
At my house or with other women around I'm a very free person. But not in public. when i was about 25 (long time ago shock ) i tried miniskirts which everybody wore then...i just couldn't do it - although my minis were just above the knee - not so mini...
My daughter (12) is the exact contrary. Although she's much more timid than i am she doesn't see no problem in showing her belly - becoz everybody does it at her school and they have no second thought about it. I'm afraid though of the guys in the street who have different reaction than fellow school kids...especially here in Maghreb. We found a compromise and i have her wear something around her waist - t-shirt with long sleeves or so - in order not to espose herself. Dress code is really for protection i believe and in order not to shock people which might have a different way of life - so that's what i try to explain when we discuss this subject.
But nudity in itself is not as such shameful or dirty. Everything always is in the mind.

You are right. Someone will always find the other person attractive and sexy. But im saying, its different when women wear sleeveless shirts becoz they have boobies. Men dont have them so its not obviously sexual for men to wear sleeveless shirts.
