Questions about GOD-Alone?

With The Name of ALLAH, The Infinitely Merciful, The Ever Merciful.
Do not pursue what you have no knowledge of. Hearing, sight and hearts will all be questioned. (1736)
Those who listen well to what is said and follow the best of it, they are the ones whom Allah has guided, they are the people of intelligence.

www.harunyahya.comWhere did the word God come from in God-alone. It is not written in the Qur'an or Authentic Hadith or Sunnah ?
Briefly explain in your own words what is this GOD-alone viewpoint anyway ?

Peace Asim,
Where did the word God come from in God-alone. It is not written in the Qur'an or Authentic Hadith or Sunnah ?
Just to clarify, we use the name 'Muslim' as given to us by God through Abraham rather than any other name/label.
As for the wording 'God Alone', it can be found in the Scripture
"They said ?Have you come to us to serve God alone and abandon what our fathers had served? Bring us what you promise if you are of the truthful ones!? (The Message 770)
"And when God Alone is mentioned, the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter are filled with aversion; and when others are mentioned beside Him, they rejoice! " (The Message 3943)
"This is because when God Alone was mentioned, you rejected, but when partners were associated with Him, you believed. Therefore, the judgment is for God, the Most High, the Great." (The Message 4012)
"So when they saw Our might, they said ?We believe in God Alone, and we reject all the partners we used to set up!? (The Message 4084)
"There has been a good example set for you by Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people ?We are innocent from you and what you serve besides God. We have rejected you, and it appears that there shall be animosity and hatred between us and you until you believe in God alone.? Except for the saying of Abraham to his father ?I will ask forgiveness for you, but I do not possess any power to protect you from God.? ?Our Lord, we have put our trust in You, and we turn to You, and to You is the final destiny.? (The Message 605)

To those more interested in the Arabic text, the Arabic for 'God alone' would be 'Allah wahdah' and this can be found in, among the ayats bro Layth mentioned
770
Qaloo aji/tana lina'buda Allaha wahdahu wanadzara ma kana ya'budu abaa~una fa/tina bima ta'iduna in kunta mina alssadiqeena4012
Dzalikum bi-annahu idza du'iya Allahu wahdahu kafartum wa-in yusyrak bihi tu/minoo faalhukmu lillahi al'aliyyi alkabeeri4084
Falamma raaw ba/sana qaloo amanna biAllahi wahdahu wakafarna bima kunna bihi musyrikeena604
Qad kanat lakum oswatun hasanatun fee ibraheema waallatheena maAAahu ith qaloo liqawmihim inna buraao minkum wamimma taAAbudoona min dooni Allahi kafarna bikum wabada baynana wabaynakumu alAAadawatu waalbaghdao abadan hatta tu/minoo biAllahi wahdahu illa qawla ibraheema li-abeehi laastaghfiranna laka wama amliku laka mina Allahi min shay-in rabbana AAalayka tawakkalna wa-ilayka anabna wa-ilayka almaseeruSo to bro Asim Iqbal, I guess the matter is settled. The words 'God ALone', 'Allah wahdah' are in the Qur'an, so we are not pursuing something we have no knowledge of.

Salaamun alaikum,
Many thanks Andya for that! I never looked at this phrase Allahu wahdah before. Terima Kasih Pak.
Then I should thank Layth for getting the verses, and Asim Iqbal for raising the problem in the first place. It's nice to be reminded of the things we take for granted, like the whole 'God-Alone' concept.

Is there any difference between Qur'an Alone and God-Alone ?
It will be very informative to find what people adhering to God-Alone view have to say about it. but I would recommend post independently without reading the pevious posters reply. Lets see what each one of you knows about this fact.
Do note that previous question of mine. The use of the word God is a direct contradiction of God-alone viewpoint as it is not written in the Qur'an and we have no evidence from any other source of Islam i.e. Sunnah or Authentic Hadith about, whether this name was really revealed by ALLAH or not. It might have been taken from the use of this name by Christians, Jews etc.... am I right. Really looks to be a contradiction here.

God, Gott, Deus, Allah, it's just different languages referring to the same entity.
Allah is not a name , by the way. My understanding is that it is a contraction of 'Al-Ilah' which literally means 'The God'.
You can always replace it with, say, 'Allah-alone' or '4JJI-alone' if you don't like the common term 'God-alone' used here. It's okay as long as we're referring to the same concept.

God alone would be any monotheist adhering by a scripture or not. Quran alone would be a monotheist using Quran as the primary source.
Thus they are excactly the same, yet they arent. Quran alone people can be God alone. God alone is not automaticly Quran alone.

How is it ALLAH-Alone ? Certainly what this web site is presenting not ALLAH-Alone . Don't get offended. But I need to find out whether you are true to your claims or just don't know yourself what you are doing.
Do you believe the Qur'an is the Word of ALLAH ? Then certainly the translations, or explanations given by you aren't God-Alone as they include the understanding, judgement, bias, etc.. of the translator .
Only the original Arabic Qur'an taken as a whole without any preconceived plans to hide certain Ayaat and with a proper knowledge of Classical Arabic etc..can be used for what you are trying to present here in this web site What scriptures? you reject the Hadith, The Bible, etc... what other scripture is left except The Qur'an .ALLAH-Alone will mean you only take orders directly from ALLAH without any person telling you which Ayat (sign of the Qur'an) means what and which Ayaat are to be taken and which to be covered up.
See the Ayaat I have mentioned at the start of this forum.
One must verify things properly for himself and shouldn't take anything for granted.
And that Article isn't ALLAH-Alone since it is just written by a man, who took selected Ayaat out of context and translated them (I don't even agree with those translations) .

Interesting point, Asim Iqbal. Sometimes it's easier if people can actually read and translate for themselves.
Myself, I don't take 'The Message' or any other translation, in any language, as a definite guide. At best they are approximations, and I used mainly the Arabic text.

Not to offend any one . Just a thought provoking article.
You guys call it God-Alone. But you aren?t doing justice to this claim.
Please read the following thought-provoking article. It is worth the time as it may lead you to adopt a more careful approach. Remember following an entire viewpoint e.g. free-minds?s viewpoint blindly is never the wise decision. One must always keep his mind open for better and better understanding.
-
First of all if ALLAH isn?t the name of our Creator then what is it. God is not the name and we can?t justify it from any evidence. Similarly ilaah is different and doesn?t mean god, which is itself a name given by Christuians or Jews and taken up by some Muslims wrongly . As when you say God, this word is not unique. We often hear words like gods, godfather, godliness, godesses etc?. So this is a word some people have manipulated. And this word God has been defined differently by different religions and even different people within the same religion . See Surah Ikhlas for a brief introduction to ALLAH. The word ALLAH is different fro Al-Ilaah .
-
So I will not use this name any more. Suppose you are talking about ALLAH-Alone.
Then what are the sources of getting information from ALLAH-Alone. Form your posts, looks like you will only take the Qur?an and leave all else. So you say that the Qur?an is the word of ALLAH.
Then I got news for you, the translations aren?t the word of ALLAH, nor their explanations, nor any articles presented on this web site, and none of these is from ALLAH-Alone as another person/persons i.e. translator or interpreter etc.. is involved and there may be bias in his opinion and other underatnding related problems. -
So according to ALLAH-Alone, you should take the entire Qur?an as a whole and not cover up any Ayat. Only the original Arabic Qur?an can be used as this is from ALLAH alone and not the translations . Moreover the Qur?an must be taken as a whole. Don?t bring selected Ayaat from the Qur?an just to support your viewpoint. If you are really looking for ALLAH-Alone then take the Qur?an as a whole.
ALLAH didn?t tell us in the Qur?an to cover up any Ayat. ALLAH didn?t tell us that the instructions given in the Qur?an are not to be followed. And if you believe in ALLAH-Alone then you should also obey everything that is from ALLAH-Alone and if ALLAH orders you to obey some person in the Qur?an then obeying that person is still obeying ALLAH as you are obeying that person because an order to obey that person came from ALLAH Alone and if you disobey that person you disobey ALLAH . You may understand Qur?an better if you understand the situation of Revelation. Also some Ayaat refer to Salat etc? You will have to go to the Sunnah that has been preserved via the practical adherence of the Muslim Ummah to understand it. Hadith require exhaustive research to separate the unauthentic from the authentic and plans are there to separate the unauthentic from the authentic . It is our responsibility to atleast try to find any useful information and this exhaustive research may give some useful results. -
Do you know The Qur?an was not revealed as a Book, but revealed via Prophet Muhammad (ALLAH?s Mercy, Blessings and peace be upon him). ALLAH could have sent the Qur?an as a Book but HE Chose to reveal it to us through Prophet Muhammad (ALLAH?s Mercy, Blessings and peace be upon him) . Like it or not we verbally received it from Prophet Muhammad (ALLAH?s Mercy, Blessings and Peace be upon him) . The Qur?an has been preserved via verbal adherence of the Muslim ummah to it. Similarly the Sunnah has been preserved via practical adherence of the Ummah to it . Note there is a big difference between Sunnah and Hadith.
One more thing
- Remember our eternity is at stake. Every single person reading this post or writing it will either go to Hell for ever or Paradise for ever. Life is not a thing to be taken lightly. One must be serious. So honestly ponder on the things I have discussed in this post. You will be held accountable for any decisions or unnecessary loyalty you show to any viewpoint. Everything you are doing is at your own risk and you are responsible for those decisions, you can?t blame anybody else in the Hereafter as nobody is forcing you to do anything. Its your free choice. Because you have been gifted with thinking, reasining, logical facilities so it will be better to use them as much as possible. Today we are in a tough time of confusion but that?s what life is all about. Life is a test and tests aren?t a piece of cake that one solution fits all, specially the test of life is a special one, won?t you try to succeed in it, by being unbiased and putting effort for better and better understanding. Moreover success has levels and the rewards vary, the Sabiquun will be Sabiquun in the Hereafter (See Surah Waqia ). Those who perform any projects should keep in mind that they have to be honest with the research and leave the bias aside.
(Ayat = A unit of the Qur?an, (Lit.) Sign, revelation etc.., wrongly translated as verse as some Ayaat are very long and some are like Alif-Laam-Miim ).
where did the free-minds view came from ! From ALLAH-Alone ?NO.
Do not pursue what you have no knowledge of. Hearing, sight and hearts will all be questioned. (1736)
Those who listen well to what is said and follow the best of it, they are the ones whom Allah has guided, they are the people of intelligence.

Peace Asim Iqbal,
Not to offend, but I'm asking out of curiousity, just to find out your perspective...
e.g. free-minds?s viewpoint blindly is never the wise decision.
What IS "free-minds's view point"? ?
Peace.
I would really like to know this aswell. what is free minds viewpoint Asim?
-
peace Asim,
I understand what you are trying to say, but your point is only valid if a significant number of people here were saying they read translations and take this as 100% truth, or following a translation is equivalent to following God or Quran.
As far as I'm aware, no-one here is saying that, nor has said that.
Thus, your point is a general point about how to approach 'al quran'.
Al Quran itself promotes gaining information from multiple sources external & internal signs , other people , nature etc.
This is where the mentality of 1736 comes in. You can take information from anywhere (including traditional hadith, translations, your local library, a children's book) but one should verify it. Simple.
Wakas

Free-minds viewpoint that I referred in my last post was "the articles found on the web site e.g. the main page article etc..., the views about other muslims like Sunni, Shia etc.. and the views about Islam, Muslim etc... "

Nice point Wakas. Verification is very important.

No those articles are the writers personal oppinion, and some agree to them and some dont, as it is with all articles here.
