Free-minds viewpoint that I referred in my last post was "the articles found on the web site e.g. the main page article etc..., the views about other muslims like Sunni, Shia etc.. and the views about Islam, Muslim etc... "
No those articles are the writers personal oppinion, and some agree to them and some dont, as it is with all articles here.
Exactly! And just Incase, Asim missed it...

THE ARTICLES DO NOT REPRESENT THE VIEWS OF ALL FREE-MINDS MEMBERS. HOWEVER, THEY ARE POSTED FOR THEIR THOUGHT-PROVOKING CONTENT

A lot of people find this simple fact very confusing... We have different types of people with different types of faiths/beliefs, even some with none at all? They're all part of the "free-minds" community, including, believe it or not, you - Asim Iqbal. )

    Peace.

      peace Zein,

A lot of people find this simple fact very confusing...

      So true.

The part in bold in Zenje's post is from the articles page, at the top, in case anyone wondered.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

I am not a member of Free-Minds community. I am a Muslim and don't label myself as Fee-mind etc... But I won't become a community member just by your saying it as so or my joining the free-minds forum just to discuss PLL and PRL with Wakas. That's why I joined it. No other reason.

Then later I thought no harm discussing a few matters.

Even If you think so , your own opinion, but I am definitelty not a member, atleast not intentionally .

You do raise interesting questions, Bro!

          1. First of all if ALLAH isn?t the name of our Creator then what is it. God is not the name and we can?t justify it from any evidence. Similarly ilaah is different and doesn?t mean god, which is itself a name given by Christuians or Jews and taken up by some Muslims wrongly . As when you say God, this word is not unique. We often hear words like gods, godfather, godliness, godesses etc?. So this is a word some people have manipulated. And this word God has been defined differently by different religions and even different people within the same religion . See Surah Ikhlas for a brief introduction to ALLAH. The word ALLAH is different fro Al-Ilaah .

No problem with that. By the way, may I ask what your first language is?

Allah is mentioned by 99 names in the Qur'an (ar-Rahman, ar-Rahim, etc.)

          al-Ikhlas

          Qul "Huwa Allahu ahad"

Say "HE is ALLAH, The One."

          "Allahu as-shamad"

          "ALLAH, the Absolute"

          "Lam yalid wa lam yulad"
"Never did HE beget. Nor was HE begotten"

"Wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad"
"And there is none who are HIS equal."

If you are not comfortable by people using God instead of Allah, that's no problem, as long as when we're talking we know we're talking about the same entity. As I tolf you before, it's just a matter of different languages.

          1. So I will not use this name any more. Suppose you are talking about ALLAH-Alone.
Then what are the sources of getting information from ALLAH-Alone. Form your posts, looks like you will only take the Qur?an and leave all else. So you say that the Qur?an is the word of ALLAH.
Then I got news for you, the translations aren?t the word of ALLAH, nor their explanations, nor any articles presented on this web site, and none of these is from ALLAH-Alone as another person/persons i.e. translator or interpreter etc.. is involved and there may be bias in his opinion and other underatnding related problems.

          Bro Wakas has covered this.

          1. So according to ALLAH-Alone, you should take the entire Qur?an as a whole and not cover up any Ayat. Only the original Arabic Qur?an can be used as this is from ALLAH alone and not the translations . Moreover the Qur?an must be taken as a whole. Don?t bring selected Ayaat from the Qur?an just to support your viewpoint. If you are really looking for ALLAH-Alone then take the Qur?an as a whole.
ALLAH didn?t tell us in the Qur?an to cover up any Ayat. ALLAH didn?t tell us that the instructions given in the Qur?an are not to be followed. And if you believe in ALLAH-Alone then you should also obey everything that is from ALLAH-Alone and if ALLAH orders you to obey some person in the Qur?an then obeying that person is still obeying ALLAH as you are obeying that person because an order to obey that person came from ALLAH Alone and if you disobey that person you disobey ALLAH . You may understand Qur?an better if you understand the situation of Revelation. Also some Ayaat refer to Salat etc? You will have to go to the Sunnah that has been preserved via the practical adherence of the Muslim Ummah to understand it. Hadith require exhaustive research to separate the unauthentic from the authentic and plans are there to separate the unauthentic from the authentic . It is our responsibility to atleast try to find any useful information and this exhaustive research may give some useful results.

If Shalat should be considered so important, then why is it that there are no clear instrutions in the Qur'an? There are detailed instructions for the Ramadhan fast and the wudhu, so why not the shalat?

I am still suspending my judgement over this issue, hence I almost never engage in discussions in this forum's Shalat section. But my feeling is that concerning Shalat, if Allah didn't put the details in the Qur'an then it could be that the details don't matter. Nevertheless, I myself have no problem with the traditional prayer.

          1. Do you know The Qur?an was not revealed as a Book, but revealed via Prophet Muhammad (ALLAH?s Mercy, Blessings and peace be upon him). ALLAH could have sent the Qur?an as a Book but HE Chose to reveal it to us through Prophet Muhammad (ALLAH?s Mercy, Blessings and peace be upon him) . Like it or not we verbally received it from Prophet Muhammad (ALLAH?s Mercy, Blessings and Peace be upon him) . The Qur?an has been preserved via verbal adherence of the Muslim ummah to it. Similarly the Sunnah has been preserved via practical adherence of the Ummah to it . Note there is a big difference between Sunnah and Hadith.

No problem with this, although you might want to expand on that last point, but I think you have another thread on this.

          1. Remember our eternity is at stake. Every single person reading this post or writing it will either go to Hell for ever or Paradise for ever. Life is not a thing to be taken lightly. One must be serious. So honestly ponder on the things I have discussed in this post. You will be held accountable for any decisions or unnecessary loyalty you show to any viewpoint. Everything you are doing is at your own risk and you are responsible for those decisions, you can?t blame anybody else in the Hereafter as nobody is forcing you to do anything. Its your free choice. Because you have been gifted with thinking, reasining, logical facilities so it will be better to use them as much as possible. Today we are in a tough time of confusion but that?s what life is all about. Life is a test and tests aren?t a piece of cake that one solution fits all, specially the test of life is a special one, won?t you try to succeed in it, by being unbiased and putting effort for better and better understanding. Moreover success has levels and the rewards vary, the Sabiquun will be Sabiquun in the Hereafter (See Surah Waqia ). Those who perform any projects should keep in mind that they have to be honest with the research and leave the bias aside.

Good point... although I cannot share that same 'I must be right' sentiment with you. I think of life as a big gamble where everyone put their bets on different ways of life. Who knows, I may be wrong and end up barbecued for eternity. It's just that nobody has observed what would happen after we die.

                Asim Iqbal wrote.

Not to offend any one . Just a thought provoking article.

You guys call it God-Alone. But you aren?t doing justice to this claim.

Please read the following thought-provoking article. It is worth the time as it may lead you to adopt a more careful approach. Remember following an entire viewpoint e.g. free-minds?s viewpoint blindly is never the wise decision. One must always keep his mind open for better and better understanding.

I appreciate your posting brother. Please allow me to clear some doubts.

                1. God alone! Could you please explain what you think we call God-Alone? is it another fabricated name like "Sunni"?, a name of a website like www.harunyahya.com or something else?

                2. Blind and open mind. I believe an open mind is being humble enough to accept that we may be wrong and we may be right but given the opportunity we will radically rethink our concepts while truly studying another.
Please forgive me but I cant see that you have studied even the postings on this discussion by Layth and Andya Primanda.

                3. The word ALLAH is different fro Al-Ilaah .

La ilaha illallah explains it all. On this read what Andya Primanda says here.

God, Gott, Deus, Allah, it's just different languages referring to the same entity.
Allah is not a name , by the way. My understanding is that it is a contraction of 'Al-Ilah' which literally means 'The God'.
You can always replace it with, say, 'Allah-alone' or '4JJI-alone' if you don't like the common term 'God-alone' used here. It's okay as long as we're referring to the same concept.

Is not this clear? Why should we consider gods name when we know there is only one god where ever you are and what ever language you use.

                1. So I will not use this name any more. Suppose you are talking about
                  ALLAH-Alone.
Then what are the sources of getting information from ALLAH-Alone. Form your posts, looks like you will only take the Qur?an and leave all else. So you say that the Qur?an is the word of ALLAH.

                2. The source = Quran

                3. About translators, no one is infallible. But what we can see is that some will go to great extents trying to cover up (Leaving known words like Allah, Ayat as it is and translating other know words like Hadith as statement, Music and arts etc.) while going into history books of human origin and some will use all their power to delve deep into the quran itself to do justice on the translation.

                4. So according to ALLAH-Alone, you should take the entire Qur?an as a whole and not cover up any Ayat. Only the original Arabic Qur?an can be used as this is from ALLAH alone and not the translations . Moreover the Qur?an must be taken as a whole. Human made methods used on human made documents. These arguments have been dealt with and maybe we must read them and understand them and then counter with logical arguments with Quranic proof. Think a little, What minute part of the religion have been given to you from the Quran. Ever wondered why that in the hadith itself the prophet Muhammad tells you not to write down anything he utters other than the Quran?

Please read a little more from this site. OPEN MINDEDLY.

                One more thing

                1. Remember our eternity is at stake. Every single person reading this post or writing it will either go to Hell for ever or Paradise for ever. Just ask what is a persons religion is. Sunni, Shia??? if they say I am not sunni or Shia but Muslim please ask why they follow Sunni Hadith, Sunni calendar, Sunni Five pillars, Sunni Kaleema etc?

(Ayat = A unit of the Qur?an, (Lit.) Sign, revelation etc.., wrongly translated as verse as some Ayaat are very long and some are like Alif-Laam-Miim ).

where did the free-minds view came from ! From ALLAH-Alone ?NO.

There is only one god. The only message we have with no contradiction (Kul Helna Araaithum min kana indallah), Infallibility promised by god himself is the Quran. Lets do our best to understand it. What better thing can any one think of doing?

Do not pursue what you have no knowledge of. Hearing, sight and hearts will all be questioned. (1736)

Those who listen well to what is said and follow the best of it, they are the ones whom Allah has guided, they are the people of intelligence.

                Well said.

I prefer refering to the source. Don't take the web referral as a marketing excuse.

From the source you refer to please enghten us brother. We are all learning or trying to learn. The almighty, is the teacher of the Quran.

Free-minds states the views from different people (not ALLAH Alone) who write their opinion which must not be taken as fact. If you really want ALLAH-Alone and really want to say NO to anything else then say no to articles presented here as they are not from ALLAH-Alone. Moreover if you believe in the Qur?an then remember the Qur?an should be taken as a whole and The Qur?an means the original Qur?an not any translation. And you have no reason to cover up any Ayat of the Qur?an. Also you should try to understand classic Arabic. And if the Qur?an tells us to do some thing including obedience to a person then that must be done.
Don?t talk , Do some projects like Wakas or support Wakas , but in an unbiased way.
But a word of caution is that any person participating in such a project should do so honestly without any bias.

You can agree to my opinion or not. That's your choice and you are responsible for it. Or you can continue pasting/ commenting on it as much as you like.

But atleast Free-Minds isn't really conveying from ALLAH-Alone.

I won't be participating much in these discussions as doing is better than talking and projects etc.. are far better than discussions !

I think that's what a lot of people here have been doing (or at least myself), I can read Arabic and my native language isn't English and I prefer to translate and interpret it on my own. Even the articles here are usually debated by some of us. Myself, I agree with some and reject some, but more important is that I don't hold any of them as more authoritative than the Qur'an

And if the Qur?an tells us to do some thing including obedience to a person then that must be done.

Obey the Messenger? Sure, he said we should judge by the Qur'an, and the Qur'an said that the Sunnah of God is eternal and we are not encouraged to find any hadith besides it. Surely you're not talking about obeying dead imams and ulama of the past?

I won't be participating much in these discussions as doing is better than talking and projects etc.. are far better than discussions !

Too bad, but then again if you feel you already have the truth, good for you.

I am curious Asim Iqbal - I take it you speak and write and understand Classical Arabic?

If you do then can I ask you some question?

                              Thanks.

                              Regards,
