I know the following verse which decribe the birds being arranged in straight lines "like rows", would that mean it is theor arrangement while praying as humans do?, Allah knows best

"Do they not observe the birds above them, spreading their wings and folding them in? None can uphold them except (Allah) Most Gracious Truly (Allah) Most Gracious Truly it is He that watches over all things. "

    (19)

Please note, Yusuf Ali commited a mistake in his translation as always, he forgot to translate the Arabic word " ", which is describing the birds as flying in rows "Saffat"

    Peace

That is right and if you look at this tringle you will see that it consist from two lines

in fact the best word to translate "SAFFAT" should be lines

the point is they form an arrangment in lines as we do in our salat

        peace

          peace,

please see the following thread for discussion on translating 2441 and 6719

          http//www.free-minds.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1179

6719 is discussing wings outspread & their contracting, i.e. both parts of flapping their wings to fly.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

            Thank you brother

Yes I agree (Yakbodn) is to spread the wings to fly, my only point here is "Saffat" which menas lines, and that is my observation that possibly they are praying while making this formation, regardless of their wing status

peace and thanks for the link

              Selam brothers,
I wish I could give any input but I do not speak Arabic ops However, there is one thing I wanted to say about birds. One day as I returned from work I saw a swarm of crows flaying - we have a lot of them in my country lol . I stood there and observed for several minutes. I saw them flying in two, three, four and even more. The first would flap the wings for several times and then outspread them and then the other bird/s followed suit. I also saw them flaying together, all of them, a big swarm. But there was smth interesting... I saw one bird flying alone - flapping its wings and then outspreading them - among all the others this one was alone and latter another bird joined!!
I hope this helps a bit.
              God knows better

              May He bless us all.

                Peace all,

                another thought about birds

One sura says the birds know their salat. Always made me think of the times of days - fajr and ichaa - when birds gather and sing.

Great to see with swallows cause they fly together as well.

Before, this always made me wonder why the birds had only two salat... lol (this was when i still did 5!)

                  Salaam sister Elke,

Yeah the birds are a sign for the timings of salat, I have had this understanding during many years now.

                  Peace sis Majidah

with respect to the timing of salaat, what is your quranic and "natural" conclusion as to what exact time should FAJR and ISHA be?

                    regards,
                    Khurram

                      Peace to all

I believe so far the Quran indicates that there is 3 Salats

                      Fajr

                      Maghrib

                      Isha

and logically speaking Isha Salat should be the "Salat Wosta" "The midlle Salat", mentioned in the Quran

                      Allah knows best

It is also possibly that the other two salat at day time (Zuhr and Asr) were sunnah, what is worth mentioning that the sunnah people pray Zuhr and Asr silently, unlike the other three

                        Allah knoes best

                        Peace

                          Salaam Ahmed,

Yes but still it's only your opinion, right!?

I think it's better to actually look in the Quran about the word salatul fajr and salatul Ishaa if they actually exists then rather supposing that there could be that salat and also another salat at another timing etc.

My logic sense tells me there are only two salat times at day and it is at the edge of the day at dawn and dusk.

                          Peace Sis Majidah

                            Peace khurram

fajr/ichaa, the times when day/night is merged into night/day or in a wider sense the beginninhg and end of our days. (days for work / night for rest)

Quran also repeats often the remembering of God in the morning and in the evening.

                            Peace AhmedBaghgat,

how do you come to the conclusion wusta is maghreb ? If i understood wusta as an independent prayer - and not as centered or balanced as i atually do - i would believe it to be a noon prayer.
