The Omnipotent, Omnipresent, All knowing but Doing Nothing?

peace all,
almost two months have passed since the quake and things have gone from worst to miserable, the winters have brought new problems for the people of the nothern areas who are living in tents since the quake. the heavy snowfall and temperature below the freezing point is making the relief efforts more and more difficult.
I pray to the Almighty for his mercy, I hope he gives them strength to cope with the new situation that they face now.
May God bless them all specially the children. -
Allah is sustaining the Universe. Who else is then? We can't say he is not doing anything. What ever good happen to us is from Allah because its through his creation which we a getting all the benefits. And what ever bad is from us, as Allah says in the Quran. Death is not a bad thing...do not think like that.

Lottery Winner Helps Heal His Homeland
Dec. 6, 2005 ? Ihsan Khan worked for years as a taxi driver in Washington, D.C. Sometimes he drove for 15 hours a day, seven days a week. At times, he slept in the cab.
One fortuitous day, Khan stopped at a gas station and bought a Powerball ticket. His dispatcher came across the intercom one morning and told all the drivers that he had heard a winning ticket had been sold.
"I announced that the winning ticket was sold at the Exxon in Georgetown and (Khan) came on the radio and said 'Oh that's where I play. I'll have to check my numbers,'" dispatcher George Moore said.
Sure enough, Khan had won $35 million.
"I cried a little bit and got emotional and said this is incredible," he said. "This is something."
What is even more incredible is what Khan did with the money. He used it to come to the aid of his native country, Pakistan, which had recently been ravaged by a devastating earthquake.
He supplied construction materials, tents, and almost $200,000 for medicine.
"Just keep helping your own people," Khan said. "Forget about money."
He's become outspoken against the government corruption he says has prevented the money from getting to those in need.
"The money is there, all we need is good people just simply to do what is right," Khan said.

And what ever bad is from us, as Allah says in the Quran. Death is not a bad thing...do not think like that.
are natural desasters caused by us and not the result of Gods creation?
death may not be a bad thing for cancer/aids patients or very old people who are dependent on others for every basic needs of theirs, but it certainly is not a happy thing for small kids and young people.
if death is not a bad thing why does God commands us to save lifes? why do we spend billions in health care and research?

I understand according to the following verse that Allah may chhoose to punish or destroy any village before the judgment day, at least He told us that He will do as such, why? this is up to Him I guess
"And there is not a town but We will destroy it before the day of resurrection or chastise it with a severe chastisement; this is written in the Divine ordinance."

Now I'm sure that not all the people of any Village are bad, there must be a few who were true believers, conseuqently I believe their test has been terminated and hopfully they will pass with the will of Allah

I think this fall into the Category of allegorical verses and can be explained in several different ways. the people who died in the earth quake were not killed because they were non believers, the were killed because unfortunately they lived near the epic centre, we were spaired not because we are the true believers but because fortunately we lived far from the epic centre.peace.

For what its worth me and my family sent money for the earth quake victims and supplies were bought with that money and sent, but on the way before these supplies even reached their destination the trucks were robbed by men at gun point.
Our families are from Rawalpindi.

sorry to hear that sis, there are many similiar incidends like that specially during the first few weeks after the quake, the destruction was on such a massive scale that the government of azad kashmir was completely paralised, there was no civil administration for many weeks in kashmir, the police stations, courts, prisons and all other government buildings were destroyed in many areas of kashmir, specially muzafarabad and district bagh, the army also suffered high casualities in those areas, now things have improved because punjab government have send police and civil officers and also the kashmiri civil administration is trying to rebuilt its stucture.
about 2.50 am we had another very heavy after shock today. since i am in lahore the shocks were not all that bad so I hope your family in rawalpindi is fine. i have many family members of mine living in rawalpindi but i could not talk to them so i pray and hope they are all fine.the good news is that a middle age woman was taken out from the debris alive today and could you imagine she survived for 64 days under the debris ALLAH O AKBAR. she is very weak and is under intensive care, she was trapped in a space where they stored dried bread, she was eating that and drinking rain water, but since the last fews weeks she had eaten nothing, just Amazing how she survived, specially the cold.
