    Hi,

Have you noticed that divine names cancel each other out?
So what does that tell us about the nature of "God"?
    example

    AR-RAZZ?Q The Provider (515
    AL-Q?BID The Withholder (2245)

    AL-KH?FID The Abaser
    A R-R?FI' The Exalter

AL-MU'IZZ The Bestower of honour (326)
    AL-MUDHILL The Humiliator (326)

    AL-LAT?F The Gentle, The Knower of subtleties (6103) (2263) (3116) (3334) (6714)
    AL-HAL?M The Forbearing (2225) (2235) (1744) (2259) (3541)

    AL-MUHY? The Giver of life (3156) (715 (1523)(3050)(572)
    AL-MUM?T The Causer of death (3156) (715 (1523) (572)

    AL-MUQADDIM The Expediter
    AL- MU'AKHKHIR The Delayer (714)

AL- MUNTAQIM The Lord of Retribution, The Avenger (3222) (4341)(4416)
    AL-'AFUWW The Pardoner (499) (4149) (2260)

    AD-D?RR The Afflicter
    AL-M?NI' The Preventer of harm

    They dont cancel/contradict each other.
    They further exemplify Him.

    Peace!

Personally, I think the 99 names of Allah are used by our earlier muslims to meditate and contemplate upon. The living function is generally lost already, especially after people start attaching the funny hadith-tics traits to it.

            They dont cancel/contradict each other.

            They do PM, look again.

            AD-DARR - The Afflictor
AL-MANI - The Preventer of harm

            They further exemplify Him.

Or no human concepts can describe "God"? - wink

            Regards,

              Peace to all,

Asmaa Allah Al Hosna ?The beautiful names of Allah? are a fact mentioned 4 times in the Quran, we were also advised to call on Him by them, the Quran however never said how many names they are, rather they exist in the Quran as well we should leave the company of those who blaspheme His names, the point is there are many names to Allah that can be extracted from the Quran, we don?t need to call on Him using all of these names rather we can only call on Him by the names that are clearly extracted from the Quran as valid beautiful names that truly describe Him

?The most beautiful names belong to Allah. call on Him by them. And leave the company of those who blaspheme His names. They will be requited what they do.?

              (180)

?Say ?Call upon Allah, or call upon Rahman by whatever name ye call upon Him, (it is well) for to Him belong the Most Beautiful Names. Neither speak thy Prayer aloud, nor speak it in a low tone, but seek a middle course between.??

              (110)

-> Clear as light from 17110 that it is up to us to chose whatever names from the many to call on Him, we don't have to call on Him using all the names

?Allah! there is no god but He! To Him belong the most Beautiful Names.?

              (

?He is Allah, the Creator, the Evolver, the Bestower of Forms (or Colours). To Him belong the Most Beautiful Names whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth declare His Praises and Glory and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.?

              (24)

              Peace be with all

Why not 100 or 98? All beautiful names belong to Allah, I do not understand why some body reduced them to 99 names? One should reject calling the hadith revalation. It is just some historical records, not even written (Chinese wisper). Quran+knowledge+common sense is enough.

I guess they chose 99 names to give us the 100th name story! And that stupid 81 + 18 in the palm of your hands is quite hallucinating.

I'm talking about the 99 names of Allah and the story that those numbers are written, in arabic numbers, in the palms of our hands. It's a nice story but just that.

If you look at your left hand, you will see a upside down V and I . That in arabic is the number 81. Your right hand has the reverse. Hence 18. 81 +18 = 99 . And so is the great hadith story

So thats what it is, unfortunately, I do not have a V in both my hands. The lines never join. I bet they didn't think of that while making it up

This is patently FALSE in light of al-quraan. Allah is al-aziz, he's not also 'the weak'. He's al-malikul mulk , he's not also 'the owned' or 'dominated'. Allah is 'al-haqq', he's not 'the false'.

We need to be careful with these 'neutrality' notions. Allah has clearly defined himself in the book and patently rejects these notions.

JK- You see "ad-daar" meaning "the harmer" is mentioned here though this attribute is NEVER associated with GOD in the Quran. Wf find it only in relation to satan in 5810. Moreover you see that the verse and sura number for that word and others too are not given showing that the list contains extra Quranic attributes. However bro Edip found more than a 100 attributes of GOD in the Quran. Infact he claims them to be exactly 114 but this is yet to be verified. A very important attribute of GOD which has been left out in the above list is "zul fadhlil azeem" meaning "posessor of inifinite grace". GOD Bless!
